Want to update card mother/CPU to Vista Ultimate Installation

I run a retail Installation of Vista 32.  Can I do the following to get my (other than the drivers/HAL) installation to work with new material as follows?

1 insert my Vista 32 then produces DVD for Windows on my current hardware

2. choose the upgrade option.

3. when restarting the computer turn it off.

4. put in the new material and current readers, turn on the computer

5. let the 'upgrade' installation continues.

6. Add all updates since I first installed Vista.

Note: My install DVD has already integrated SP1.

Thank you much for the help on this issue.

When you change the motherboards you should be able to do a clean install to load the required drivers.

See you soon.

I upgraded my card mother cpu ram and hard drive. I reinstalled windows xp home edition has got all of the updates. After 9 latest updates download and installtion was going well until I rebooted the computer and go to page window showing all the icons that I get a blue screen and the computer restarts its self and does not stop. How can this be corrected?

    Hi KevinRy,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

    Unplug all external devices.

Try to start in safe mode. If you can start in safe mode, and then do a system restore to restore the computer to an earlier point in time.

Change the recovery settings to disable automatic reboot, if you are able to boot up to the desktop computer:

    1.

Right-click my computerand then click Properties.

    2.

    Click the Advanced tab.

    3.

Under Startup and recovery, click settings to open the Startup and recovery dialog box.

    4.

Clear the automatically restart check box, and then click OK many times necessary.

    5.

Restart your computer so that the settings take effect.

Now, when you are going to close and a fatal error occurs, you will see at least and it won't cause an automatic restart.

Please reply back with the error message you get because it helps us to resolve the error.

  • The original OEM product key allows you to move from a 32-bit Vista Ultimate installation to a Vista Ultimate 64-bit installation.

The product key OEM genuine original of my software to 32-bit with service pack 1 (that I bought and installed on my computer) allows to switch from a 32-bit Vista Ultimate installation to a 64-bit Vista Ultimate installation on the same computer without changing the motherboard?

I would use a replacement disc from Microsoft 64-bit including Service Pack 2 as complete a reinstall? Microsoft 64-bit replacement drive has been obtained from Microsoft with the 32-bit version (which is currently installed) after some intractable problems found by the Microsoft Tech support in my OEM 32-bit software with service pack 1.

I'll be able to do an online activation?

    Thank you.

    Hello

You should check with Support to be sure. Normally the 32-bit and 64-bit key can
be used on the same system. Of course, you need to install the 64 who will wipe away
the installation of 32-bit. The key you should however work to check better
with that which supplied the disc. The manufacturer of your system can also provide input.

    I hope this helps.

  • Pavilion A4316F Desktop with M2N78-(Violet6) card mother CPU Upgrade

I looked at the HP Site before making the CPU to upgrade to purchase (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01925562) my office.  I bought an AMD Phenom II x 4 processor clocked at 3.4 Ghz.  When I installed the CPU and try to start, I have a unknown, computer processor stop error.  From what I can tell on the HP site, this processor should work with this motherboard.  Any suggestions?

Please provide the role other than whole or number of the plateau of the AMD processor for our review. Only 3.4 Ghz AMD Phenom II x 4 processors I know are the 125 watts Note: AMD Phenom II x 4 965 Black Edition and the140 watts Note: AMD Phenom II x 4 965 Black Edition. None of these processors are compatible with the Violet6 motherboard in your system. The card mother Violet6 is intended to be used with processors up to 95 watts. In addition, "Black Edition" CPUs have discovered clock multipliers to be used in overclocking, but does not support the Violet6 overclocking motherboard.

Please consider these 95 watt AMD AM3 processors except CPU 'Phenom II X 6' and processors ' B #

  • Update from XP Pro to Vista Ultimate in 2013

I have a Dell desktop computer perfectly although I bought new in 2009.  I bought under Windows Vista Ultimate Bonus, which means that it's a license for Vista Ultimate, but came with the "downgrade" to XP Pro pre-installed.  Reference Dell shipped a Windows XP and a Vista Ultimate 32-bit SP1 with the PC reinstall drive.

Now that XP reaches the end of the life cycle, I am considering upgrading to Vista Ultimate, so I can get a few years out of this machine.  Is this a good idea?  I'll be able to perform an upgrade to XP using the disc to reinstall Vista from Dell?  Are there pitfalls that I should be aware?

Well, I took the lead with this update and I have to tell you, this has been the process much more time that I never crossed on a computer.  I went through a lot, too, including recently updated 5 computers to Windows 8.1 (which is from Windows 7 to 8 8 to 8.1 8.1 overview overview).

Anyway, for those who may have the same idea I had, my biggest hurdle was enter about 20 minutes in the upgrade and running the "Windows could not update the configuration to start the computer.  Not proceed with the installation. ' After several attempts and a lot of research in these discussions, I fell on my stationary.  I needed to start the computer from the disk, and then click the Windows repair option below.  A start-up error has been detected, and I chose the hotfix and restart.  Finally, I was able to restart the process of upgrading XP successfully.

A few hours later I always install hundreds of Windows, including Service Pack 2 updates, but everything seems to work.

  • Update card mother VRTX 2.1 - 8.4 SPERCS support

I noticed that a new firmware is available for the motherboard VRTX, 2.1. The only documentation I can find says that it adds support for SPERCS 8.4. Does dell anyone can explain what is SPERCS 8.4?

    HokieFan80,

The SPERCS 8 is a RAID of PowerEdge shared controller card installed on the VRTX, that supports the single root Input Output virtualization (SR - IOV). The 8.4 SPERCS update the motherboard is referencing is simply a firmware next update scheduled for the card SPERCS.

Hope this helps to answer your question.

  • Beep card mother/CPU Dell Inspiron 530 problem

    Hi all!

I recently acquired an Inspiron 530 G33M02 motherboard with a Dual-Core of E7300 processor.  It worked for a few hours while I was updating windows (my brother had not used for 2 years before), but then all of a sudden the screen empties and computer was turned off.

To try to restart, the powerbutton lit amber, fans would move for a fraction of a second, and the green light would go on feeding.  I tried the power supply in another computer and it worked while I also installed an another working power known in the Inspiron 530 with the same results.  In research, this lead me to believe the motherboard was bad.

I have order a new traction (taken before using it on a new computer) on ebay and installed.  Now, I'm getting 7 beeps at the station.  It would point to a faulty processor?  I would limit until I have spend more money on a new processor.

    Thanks for any help/insight!

    smwilli

7 beeps does not indicate a processor problem,

    http://FTP.Dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_desktop/esuprt_inspiron_desktop/Inspiron-530_owner%27s%20manual_en-us.PDF

To know if it is the processor, you will need to install in a "known" compatible work computer, or replace it with a compatible CPU "Known", as it is difficult to distinguish a faulty processor of a faulty motherboard.

While you can make an informed diagnosis, troubleshooting, the complexity of the components, it is sometimes diagnosis by substitution.

  • Satellite P35 - compatibility card mother/cpu?

    Hello

    I have a toshiba laptop p35 with a motherboard K000018150.
The vehicle currently has a 4 538 mobile pentium 3.2 GHz and I want to know if it is compatible with a processor intel core 2 duo 1.6.

    I agree with Pererk

You check you chipset which is placed on the motherboard.
It is very easy to read using a material like Everest Home Edition diagnostic tool.

Chipset properties can be verified on the Intel page
You will find the news which processors are supported by this chipset

But note; Although the chipset would support a new processor, it is not easy to tell if the laptop would be stable after this upgrade due to the question of compatibility of the BIOS.

OK, everything I read is my T40 has a failed chip southbridge, which is apparently common. I'll have USB problems, connection & disconnection device can run faster on the refusal to recognize the device, errors of malfuntion of USB 2.0 devices.
    My questions are:
    (1) it's a big job to change the motherboard in my T40?
    (2) change the motherboard the only way to correct the southbridge?
    (3) o would need to reinstall the operating system (win xp)
    (4) what is the best replacement? FRU #s Please

    OK, one by one...

    (1) n ° with the help of HMM, it is quite a simple procedure. You will need to break out the whole machine, however.

    (2) outside of which he professionally reballed (dessoudes NO) Yes

    (3) No.

    (4) check here:

You can also order a Board professionally reballed with security here, probably the place most worthy of trust on the web.

No, I don't have stock in there.

Yes, I do not personally know the owner and he did a lot of work for me.

  • Update for Explorer 8 for Vista (KB978207) installation default (80246005)

The installation of updates 2 & 3 for Explorer 8 for Vista (KB978207) (error code 80246005) failed. The following procedure involving Catroot2 does not solve the problem. What now?

Using Vista, Vista SP1 or SP2 for Vista?

What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?  Any of these applications that run in the background when you installed IE8 (not the update)?

A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on the computer (for example, a free trial version which is preinstalled when you bought it)?

  • Re: Unable to run P0056v200.exe (BIOS update) on Tecra S5 with Vista Ultimate

When I run the utility of the P0056v200.exe of Windows bios update I get the message "Toshiba BIOS package Ver.3.2.8: this computer is not supported."
I have found no 'traditional' for the Tecra S5 update procedure.
Anyone have any idea how can I update my bios?

    TIA
    though

BIOS update is for the 32 - bit version, and it will not work under 64-bit operating system. What you can do? Use recovery media and install the 32-bit version, do BIOS update and install the 64-bit version again. A lot of work but I don't see any other solution.

  • Failure of Vista Ultimate Update window

I can't run/install updates. Get the error message that I can't install updates at all. Windows Vista Ultimate Edition. I get the following error code... WindowsUpdate_80070663""WindowsUpdate_dt000"

    Hi bumper612,

Because you can not updated at all, you can go ahead and reset the Windows update components and check if this solves the problem.

For more information, see the link below:

How to reset the Windows Update components?
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058

To reset the Windows Update components automatically, click the fix it button or link. Click on run in the file download dialog box and follow the steps described in the fix it Wizard.

Note this fix it Solution has two modes by default and aggressive. You must run the fix it solution in default mode and determine if it solves your problem with Windows Update before running it in aggressive mode.

You can also download and install the latest Windows Installer from the following link:

    Windows install 4.5 Redistributable

  • Merger with vista ultimate bootcamp

    Hello

Recently I bought iMac 24 "high with the Radeon 4850 card and I installed Vista Ultimate via Bootcamp on another partition.

How simple is to install Fusion and use this virtually bootcamp partition instead of creating another partition? I read of some problems on here so I was wondering if any problems have now been resolved.

In addition, what are the recommended settings for the installation of virtual if it works (RAM, CPU etc.)?

Answering these questions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

You can go for the merger because it will allow you to launch your Windows Vista without logging Mac... For the recommended settings, you can go for 1 GB of RAM, CPU 1, etc... All the fussion above will allow you to change these settings later without causing any problem, so no need to worry about this...

  • Re: Satellite U300: can I install Vista Ultimate?

    Hello.

A few days back, I bought Satellite U300 series but it came with VISTA Home Premium that I don't want.

Can I install WINDOWS VISTA ULTIMATE on my computer, if yes from where I can download the drivers.
Is there a specific order I have to follow to install the drivers after installing VISTA ULTIMATE.

    Seniors need help here, please...

    Thank you and best regards
    Khurram Shahzad

Of course, you can install Vista Ultimate on this laptop.
All Vista drivers can be downloaded from the page of European driver of Toshiba.

Ask for the specific installation order?
Well, I'd start with the common drivers like Chip Set Utility, display driver, etc.
In addition, I would recommend checking the option details, because there you might find driver and software details.

By the way; the Intel Robson (SATA driver) package must be included in Vista because this driver is required for the recognition of the HARD drive.
