WAP54G (v3.1) in Repeater Mode to WRT54G (v5) will not affect the IP via DHCP

Hi, I just installed a WAP54G Access Point and define the AP as REPEATER mode.  I followed all the instructions, including the seizure of the MAC address of the router (WRT54G).  The signal seems to have substantially improved by the WAP in Repeater mode, but I can't connect to the wireless network as an IP is not able to attribute.  I tried different laptops running different wireless cards and get the same result.  Two (for WAP and the WRT) MAC addresses appear in the "monitor of the site" the utility of the wi - fi card (of course, WAP is the most powerful signal), but it fails when it tries to acquire a network address.  If I move the laptop closer to the WRT, assigns an IP address physically & I can connect, I just can't get the router to pass the IP address through repetition to the laptop.  I have updated the firmware on the two WRT & WAP.  No difference.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Fred, you're a genius! Who did the trick!  Live and learn.  I had no idea there is more than one MAC on the WRT54G.  I appreciate your help.  Super Bravo to you.

  • WRT54G Router will not connect on my iPhone automatecally

    Router: Linksys WRT54G ver. 2

    Firmware: 4.21.1 (last)

    Security: WPA2 Personal

    iPhone: 3GS

Can I connect my iPhone to my wireless network, if I broadcast the SSID of the router, but if I turn off the show and then the iPhone can not connect automatically. So, I get the name and the network security code whenever I turn on my iPhone? And I do not broadcast the SSID.

In fact, Disabling SSID broadcast is a bad thing that lowers your security.  The reason of this, it is related to the problem you are having with your iPhone.  SSID was intended to be broadcast - go ahead and rebroadcast.

When a Windows-based computer connects to a "hidden" network, should be a note that the SSID is not broadcast.  From that moment, every time that Windows computer does not have a network connection, it will constantly send the connection requests that you guessed, clearly understood the SSID.  If not, how the Windows computer would be able to connect?  He doesn't know that its in your home and close enough to your router.

The problem is of course that the Windows computer, typically a laptop, will do it everywhere wherever you are.  These packages are easily detectable with the simpler network analysis tools - and striker will be able to detect both your SSID and your MAC without being anywhere near your network address domestic.

Computers (and the iPhone) which are only connected to the "visible" networks don't need to do.  They used scan, looking for those broadcast of the SSID, and then are alive when they find one they know.

The iPhone is a phone, and he needs to save on battery life, so he cannot have the luxury of these packages to search daily for each hidden network, you connect to, so the problem of broadcasting.

I had the same problem and now works properly. That's what I did:

1 position (BIOS) setting to IDE compatible mode

    2. install XPP as usual.

    3. install the drivers for the chipset Intel (sp46692)

    4. download and run softpaq for Intel Matrix Storage Manager (sp45106)

    5. go to the controller Start > Run > devmgmt.msc > IDE ATA/ATAPI

    > Port controller 5 series/3400 Series 6 Chipset

    6. set to update manually the folder c:\swsetup\sp45106, with option "have a disk.

    7. Select "PCHM SATA AHCI Controller 6 port".

Windows says it is not compatible, but it will be restarted from the nest

8 restart the computer, and set its mode controller SATA (BIOS)

9 complete! Windows does not boot ok

I hope you understand my instructions: English is not my mother tongue and may be poorly written. In any case, it worked for me.

  • mode of classical culture will not stay

I just upgraded from CS5.1 to CC2015.5 (windows).  I learn a lot of new things...  Anyway, when I toggle the mode of classical culture, there is not like that.  Also, when I toggle it, sometimes it passes entirely to the classic and sometimes only happening at halfway.

First question is...  Since I'm catching up in versions, should the classic mode option remain on once I have activated or not?

Then...  What can I do to make it a classic, if you selected the option?

    Thank you!!!

Mine remains in CC 2015.5, if not clear why yours is activating / deactivating offshore.

That said, it's a big jump from CS5.1 to 2015.5 CC and a lot of the new stuff should feel overwhelming. Cropping is greatly improved (Content Aware cropping!) and that 12 minutes you will get over the hump. It will be worth the investment of time, I promise!

  • Lightroom will not apply the changes to all my pictures until the preview icon is visible in the active window in grid mode

    Hello

I have about 4000 photos taken with my GoPro I would use a Time lapse video.

I decided to correct the colors first, so I imported it in LightRoom. I have made changes to the first image, selected images (ctrl + a) and click on the sync button.

Now, the weird thing is that I made to the first image doesn't apply to the rest of the images if I display of the thumbnail in the library grid mode view.

For example, I will scroll to a random part of the grid of images and preview images show the original image. After a few seconds, the previews will be all up to date with changes made to the first image.

Even tried exporting as tab video slide show to see if the changes have been made to all photos, but that reflects not only the icons - no dice. Any input would be much appreciated!

    Thank you!

I think it is a bug specific to slide show > video Export.  I tested with 5800 1000 x 750 in double JPEG format, change the exposure of the first to be very dark and synchronization so that change to all others.  When I exported all 5800 photos in a folder, they all had the exhibition has changed; Ditto when I did slide show > export as PDF.  But when I did slide show > export video, I observed the same symptoms that you have done: only those photos that I had actually seen thumbnails in library obtained grid view the correct exposure setting in the video.

I recommend that report you this bug in the official Adobe feedback forum, where Adobe has asked that all the deferred bugs: Active recently in Photoshop on Photoshop Lightroom family.  Don't forget to include a detailed step by step recipe to reproduce the bug.  Adobe tends to not pay attention to the reports for which they are unable to reproduce the symptoms quickly.

  • XP will only start in safe mode and System Restore does not resolve the problem

Don't know not if this is related to the same reported people of BSOD problems after recent updates, but from Tuesday my computer does not start in normal mode.  I can get it to boot in safe mode, however I tried to restore to several different restore points and nothing seems to solve the problem.  Any suggestions?

    Hello

Many people face this problem after the latest version of windows update on the XP machine. I would like to know where are the updates that have been installed on your computer Tuesday. You can view them from the Windows update history by examining it from the Windows update site.

In case, if the KB977165 has been installed then, take a look at this thread and check if this helps you boot normally to the desktop.
    http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/vistawu/thread/73cea559-ebbd-4274-96bc-e292b69f2fd1

If the update history shows the other updates in the history list, please let us know the xxxxxx KB (number) updates, so that we can try to help you the best.

We hope to hear from soon.

  • I can't get out of safe mode when starting, and can not run the Setup program from windows XP in safe mode.

I have a XP box that would only start in safe mode.  I needed to repair windows, so I started updating reinstall option but to reboot it says it cannot run in safe mode then it tries to boot into normal mode but crashes - which is what I am tring to solve.  Now I'm stuck because the computer is now making a loop and I'm stuck.  There is no available recovery console, it shows just the installation restart then goes into the shot.  If I try to launch safe mode, that it says cannot run update in safe mode then restarts in normal mode, which hangs then.  I'm stuck.  Boy the days where I wish I could just make the prompt C:\.  Thank you.

You can connect your problematic hard drive to another PC to copy your important data, using a device such as:

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16812161002

    or

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16812119244

I'm still not 100% convinced that you boot from the CD. Your Dell has the option of F12 to select a boot real-time device (as soon as you turn on the PC)? Also, remember that you have to "press any key to boot from the CD" when you see this screen! Of course, during a reboot, you start from the hard drive.

Even if you did everything by the book, a repair installation could easily 'loop' as you describe. But as long as your hardware is healthy, a clean install is done.

  • Following the instructions to configure WPA on a WRT54G, but do not get the right screen

I suddenly realized that the password protection, I thought that I had on my network was only my administrative password, so I tried to follow the instructions on how to configure WPA. According to the Article ID 19073, when in Safe Mode, I have to choose "WPA Personal" in the drop down next to 'Security Mode' and after doing so there should be a box called 'pass phrase' where I put my password. However, when I select "WPA Personal" I get a screen that says

    WPA algorithms: TKP

WPA Shared Key: a box in which to enter this info, (whatever that is!)

Renewal Group touches a box that says in 3600 and next to the box, "seconds".

But nowhere is a box that says "pass phrase". While in Safe Mode if I had to choose WEP, then I see a screen that provides the box to enter my password. Had such a box is not put at my disposal when I chose WPA Personal.

    How should I proceed?

Enter your password in the WPA shared key.
