WRT54G Router will not connect on my iPhone automatecally

Router: Linksys WRT54G ver. 2

Firmware: 4.21.1 (last)

Security: WPA2 Personal

iPhone: 3GS

Can I connect my iPhone to my wireless network, if I broadcast the SSID of the router, but if I turn off the show and then the iPhone can not connect automatically. So, I get the name and the network security code whenever I turn on my iPhone? And I do not broadcast the SSID.

In fact, Disabling SSID broadcast is a bad thing that lowers your security.  The reason of this, it is related to the problem you are having with your iPhone.  SSID was intended to be broadcast - go ahead and rebroadcast.

When a Windows-based computer connects to a "hidden" network, should be a note that the SSID is not broadcast.  From that moment, every time that Windows computer does not have a network connection, it will constantly send the connection requests that you guessed, clearly understood the SSID.  If not, how the Windows computer would be able to connect?  He doesn't know that its in your home and close enough to your router.

The problem is of course that the Windows computer, typically a laptop, will do it everywhere wherever you are.  These packages are easily detectable with the simpler network analysis tools - and striker will be able to detect both your SSID and your MAC without being anywhere near your network address domestic.

Computers (and the iPhone) which are only connected to the "visible" networks don't need to do.  They used scan, looking for those broadcast of the SSID, and then are alive when they find one they know.

The iPhone is a phone, and he needs to save on battery life, so he cannot have the luxury of these packages to search daily for each hidden network, you connect to, so the problem of broadcasting.

Since you seem to be getting an Internet connection very well when the connections of a PC connected to the modem, I would recommend that you try to spoof the MAC than PC. To do this simply:

From the PC that you are able to access Internet when connected directly to the modem, connect a cable to one of the four on the R7000 LAN ports. Connect to it via http://192.168.1.1/ with admin as user name and password as password. Click Advanced , and then select Setup -> Internet Setup. Make sure everything is set to automatic and dynamic and to the last option for The MAC address of the router you choose to use computer MAC address. Click apply and wait for the page to come back. He should get back to work now!

If it still doesn't work, please tell us how the Internet light on the front of the router is turned on (the globe).

Yes, I'm sorry, but you need iTunes 12.3.x to sync with a device iOS iOS 9 ongoing enforcement. You need to update your OS X on your Mac in order to download the latest version of iTunes.

  • Wireless router will not connect at home, but will be at other places.

Recently, we moved and chose ATT UVerse as on the network provider (no other choices available).  The problem is with the connection wireless with my Toshiba laptop.  I can connect to other places that use ATT as a supplier; or with any other provider (Charter).

The system recognizes the router and asked my access code.  Once which is entered, the system times out without logging.

Now I use ATT at home with a wired connection.

We have two other laptops that can connect without any problems.  It is an old Dell running Vista, the other is a new HP running Windows 7.

Has anyone seen this problem before.

  • Router is not connecting to the modem so I can't get internet

All right-_ - I tried a lot of things with this so I get irritated sorry. Here is my info I have a Linksys Wireless Router with SpeedBoost Firmware Version 7.2 WRT54GS (latest version). I'm trying to use it with a Sprint 645 series Modem. My IP address when you are connected to the router and the router connected to the Modem is 192.168.1.100 who my ISP said was ok to make it work. While it is just connected to my modem, it's the same thing except replace the 100 by 1. My ISP uses a measure of security where The Thing DHCP is 192.168.1.1 and so is the DNS server and default gateway and im not sure if this has something to do with it. I used the ping at a command prompt to make sure that I am connected to the router when its plugged up and it is. This is a new router. I have internet with Modem just perfectly. I tried to reset the router and that does not work-_-. I don't think it is important more because I tried to fix the many way people have told me and it didn't work, but I'll tell u in any case. When I put up the first router time I hung and lit everything at the beginning. Then I noticed that it says Run CD before to connect the cables... those who were not in the instructions but wtv... anyway resetting should have fixed or so I was told by other people on this forum. I use a laptop with Windows Vista, and I don't have access to a desktop computer in case I need a XD. I can connect to the router fine because I can access the Setup page... and I can connect wireless... The ONLY problem seems to be that the router will not connect to the Modem... for some reason of wtv-_ - I think that its because the entire security measure on the way to the DHCP and the DSN and the bridge are all 192.168.1.1, but that's just me. I'm sorry this is very long but I really want this problem-_ - I had this router for a month and becomes really annoying so please help . My ISP is Embarq. I ran the installation CD and I had all through the last step (standby router) after having connected the power supply to the wall for the router. Just, it is there forever and then says "error: 322 cannot find router or something like that." There are 3 steps to try to fix it. It says to make sure that the router is connected (it is), it is said also to make sure that u does not actually connect your old router, (I don't have a-_-) and then re-run Setup. and by the installer, I mean where u plug in all the cables in the right way. * sigh *.

If you need anything else please ask.

Your second post says "" ignore this "so I guess everyone thought that you set..."

When you connect through your router that you have two instances of DHCP past... one is your DSL modem with router IP address on its WAN interface. The other is the router that gives your computer an IP address via the DHCP server on the router. The IP address of the modem gives your router is in the 192.168.1.0 network. Unfortunately, by default, the reange of Linksys routers LAN IP address is also in this range. For that to work, you must set your router 192.168.2.1 LAN ip, so that the LAN and WAN router interfaces are in different networks.

To do this, unplug the DSL modem router, power it and your computer, and then connect the computer to the router by an ethernet cable. Turn on the router and the computer, and then go to 192.168.1.1. Change the LAN IP on router 192.168.2.1, save the configuration, and then restart the computer. Once the computer returns to the top, navigate to 192.168.2.1... you should be able to get to the router GUI configuration.

Turn off the router and the DSL modem, connect the router to the modem via the Internet port using an ethernet cable, and then turn on the modem, then the router... you should be good to go...

HP b209a printer range will not connect to router comcast using the WPS button. I try to use a new Comcast router (technicolor TC8305C). When I try to connect the printer times out and says that no connections are when I check for wireless connections. Never use WPS to connect.  If done it should be disabled in the router for security reasons.  Connect manually via the SSID and password following the instructions in the manual.

  • HP deskjet 2540: HP 2540 printer will not connect to new router

Hi, we just changed internet service providers and the printer will not connect to the new router, our HP laptop computer presents the printer in the list of network devices / wireless, but will not accept the password of network to the router when I ask him to connect. Makes me crazy! I have re-installed software etc. to connect the drive and make me anywhere I hope someone can help!

    Dave.

Replacement/change your wireless router, try here.

    http://www.HP.com/global/au/en/wireless/reconfiguring-system-Help3.html

Make sure that your router is set to a fixed channel wireless as the 1, 6 or 11, never 'auto '.  Try channel 1 first and then the other one at a time.  Make sure that the printer and the router are spaced at least 5 feet.

However, if you have a gateway device (modem + router), all gateway devices are terrible for connectivity and wireless performance.   If this does not work, suggest you put this bridge in full bridge mode device and install your own router of high quality that YOU have full control over.

  • IPhone will not connect to iTunes - "invalid response received from the device."

After years of work very well, I went to put some new music on my phone and all of a sudden got this message "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone 'IPhone of David Platts' because an invalid response was received from the device."?

I've tried different USB ports, different cables (some Apple official, some after market) and several reboots, but nothing works.

I'm 10.7.5 OSX and IOS 10 phone you.

    Thanks for the help.

    You have a problem.

It is good that you have told us you're OS x 10.7.5 (current is MacOS 10.12), because it is your problem.

iOS 10 requires iTunes 12.5.1 or later to communicate.  iTunes 12.5.1 requres OS X 10.9.5 or later version.

It's (time to upgrade the operating system of your Mac spent).

  • iPhone 6 will not connect to iTunes

    Hi all!

Here's my problem: my iPhone 6 (iOS 10.0.1) does not connect to my iTunes (11.4) on my Macbook Pro (2008) 10.6.8 running. The message I get is: "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone 6 because an invalid response was received from the device."

    The steps I did:

1 - uninstall iTunes and reset the folder (/ var/db/lockdown) reinstall iTunes (11.4). When I connect my phone iPhone and iTunes asks if I want to trust each other. I click ok and trust on both.

.. .and that's it! Still does not work.

    Any idea?

    Thank you!

    CiberBob

You are right. An iPhone with iOS 10.0.1 requires the latest version of iTunes, 12.5.1, which requires OS X 10.9.5 or above. Your version of iTunes is too old, just like the OS X version to support.
