Warehouses of shared data between clusters?

I currently have two clusters, the original node 6 cluster (processor E6540) with 15 - 2 TB data warehouses and a node 3 new cluster (E5-2670v3 processors).

I have the same joint 15 - 2 TB storage of data to the new cluster and part of the load has migrated to the new cluster.

Should there be a problem with the warehouses of data between sharing groups?

All hosts run ESXi 5.5 U2 version 2718055?

Hi theire,.

I have same configuration with several groups I create Clusters by the Architecture of the processor. Westmere, Ivy, Sandy, Haswell.  I do not use CVS.

HM don't feel now a type of problem. 1 point is theire is additional pulse through the cluster storage. But on the opposite side theire is more less overhead for HA master/slave by cluster.

For return optimize, perhaps take a look if you have the last Firmware supported on storage boxes. Check if theire supports Alua/RR and you use a TTY/SCSI reservation instead of nativ PROPERTY SCSI. If you fully support ATS, you could spend for nativ ATS only.

Best regards

  • Sharing data between the host computer stores in different groups.

I read in several places that sharing of data warehouses between the host in different groups is possible, but I don't get the warm and fuzzies when the hosts are different versions.

    vCenter is 4.1

Group Alpha is 4.0 vmfs 3.33

Bravo of cluster is 4.1 vmfs 3.46

My goal is to move the virtual machines that meet the specific criteria of group Alpha for Cluster Bravo then the availability of flowing freely between clusters.

The only concern I have is when adding Cluster Bravo to the same host of 3PAR alpha value of Cluster sharing all the data store, Cluster Bravo will try to reformat to vmfs 3.46 break Cluster Alpha to see the virtual machines stored in the warehouses of shared data?  I don't want to present the old warehouses of data to the new cluster only break from old cluster.

    Hello vmsjsn

ESX/ESXi 4.X supports all versions of VMFS file system.

Using your example of Alpha and Bravo. Kudos to will write more Alpha. you will be able to cross all hosts on the shared storage.

  • Sharing data between views

    Hello

I have a simple display object that I use to connect, he questions just the user name and password in the users table.

I have an another display object that uses a query much more complex that retrieves detailed information about this user in different tables.

I have a simple taskflow, a view of the opening of session and a current view, if you log in successfully, you go to the main page.

Now if I use the first view (simple) object to display the username etc then it correctly displays the name of the user who is logged.

If use the other more complicated view opposing it just show the first returned row.

In short, my question is this, if I connect with the object from a point of view, how can I tell the view which line to select another object? I.e. the details of the logged-on user?

I tried to create a link between the objects in view, but which only sort of worked. After that I logged it didn't show the correct line, but after I went to another page that uses the original view object, then he did display the line concerned.

I bet that it would make no sense, but I don't know how else to explain it.

I connect with the view object X.
View object there may not know what line in X, I'm interested.
If I connect X to Y then I have to go to another page in the application X is used in front go understand what line X is on.

    Help, please!

Looks like your 'Complex' view must have a binding parameter to filter the query of a specific user and your speed of connection must pass this id on the container page.

  • Sharing data between multiple while loops, competitor rates

    Hello

I am trying to Exchange data between competitor while loops running at different speeds.  What is the recommended way to do this?    In practice, I have 12 indicators and 3 cards I would update (on screen) in the slower loop, although the data acquired and stored on disk in the fastest loop.  The image below is a simplified version of what really works my candidacy.

I currently use local variables and shared to achieve this.  I heard however that local variables are evil because of their use of memory (data are copied instead of who passed by reference).

  • Sharing data between Applications

I need to be able to share documents between different applications such as straight JAVA applications and MIDlets.  I went and wrote the code using the store only to find out that it does not work between applications. I saw something on the RuntimeStore but finds that it is not persistent (you lose the data on reboot). I think it is a severe limitation.  Are there other options?

    Thank you!

You can use the persistent objects to back up and share data with other applications also.

Give a look to this developer doc. Section "persistent data storage.

  • Sharing data between MIDlets

Is it possible to read data from the record of an another MIDlet store. Use the midlet that created the record store

    recordStore = RecordStore.openRecordStore( "rsStore", true, RecordStore.AUTHMODE_ANY, true );

and uses the midlet which try to read the record store

    recordStore = RecordStore.openRecordStore( "rsStore", "Vendor", "MIDletName" );

RecordStore api says you can do this, but the research of the ancient forum, there is word that yo cannot. BlackBerry confirm this and also provide a workaround solution

Applications in the suite MIDlet even are able to share data within a RecordStore.

Another approach is to use the BlackBerry RuntimeStore.  This allows data to be shared with any application.

  • Sharing data between asynchronous counters

Is it possible to have an asynchronous programming for a BOBBIN Signal values and have an another asynchronous timer get values written?

AsyncTimerA say the message of 0x4FF to an interval of 250ms.

AsyncTimerB Gets the Message 0x4FF also at an interval of 250ms.

Currently, I don't get the value I wrote with AsyncTimerA. I get an error saying that 0x4FF is not on the CAN bus.

As mentioned above, the message transmitted correctly and see you on the bus

I found the problem to her. Asynchronous timers using the multimedia clock.

When too many asynchronous timers are started at the same time with a very short interval, for example. 10 ms, the timers starts to operate in a volatile manner.

I've now reduced the number of asynchronous timers used, replacing them with multithreading instead.

  • Share data warehouses between clustered hosts

Hello, we had initially a cluster of ESX consisting of two guests who had shared access to different VMFS LUNS on an iSCSI SAN.

Recently we bought an additional server, and additional storage and we have some problems to get the extra VMFS LUNs to be recognized by all hosts. The additional LUN is recognized by all hosts after a new analysis to Configuration-> storage adapters, but it seems that data warehouses can be added only for the storage of an individual host and not shared by the cluster?

Adding the extra VMFS LUNS to a host works very well but they are not immediately recognized by the other guests and whenever you try to add data to them warehouses they insists on formatting the LUN and treating it essentially as a data store different.

Since there is no problem sharing data between hosts warehouses in the original configuration, I wonder what setting it is necessary to enable sharing between all hosts in a cluster of data store? Thanks in advance!

Probably, you have LUNS in different ways for each ESX Server (or the new ESX). If any information logical unit number (Lun ID, wwwn, etc.) is not the same for all ESX host tend to view this as a snapshot LUN.

If you can't find what's going on, you can try a workaround (not too recommended but should work in your environment): go to the ESX configuration tab, click Advanced settings, and look for LVM. DisallowSnapshotLun option under LVM. Change it to 0, click OK and perform a new analysis. Repeat this for all of your guests.

Please let us know if it works.

  • Sharing LUNS between VMware Clusters

We currently have a 3.5 divisΘe in farms host.

Farms, they are further broken into clusters

Y at - it problems with sharing LUNS between clusters in the same farm.

I don't think that it is a good idea, but I can't seem to find any documentation indicating one or the other.

Of course you must have shared LUNs within the cluster.  But it seems that you ask if you must share LUNS between clusters.  Yes at least one logical unit number.  This way if you need to move virtual machines between clusters, you can.  And of course you mentioned your lun model.

  • What is the best way and to share data between a server and a Client app?

    Hello

    I'm trying to communicate a Client-Server application.

In fact, I already have a simple data transfer via TCP/IP. However, I don't know yet, if TCP/IP is the best (and by that I mean, better, faster, safer, etc.)

    How to do.

What are the cons and Pros between TCP/IP, STM and shared Variable?

Do you recommend another type of communication in addition to these 3?

    Thank you

    Matt.

In my view, that a general question cannot have a response says.

Then, there is no way 'the best' for sharing data between a client and a server app.

I like to use TCP/IP, but sometimes (when data loss is not critical) I use UPD (quick and dirty).

I generally avoid shared variables, especially on embedded devices.

  • Sharing warehouses of data between two vCenter and VM migration

    Hello

I have 2 groups. One is in vSphere 5.5 (ClusA - 6 esxi) and the other is in vSphere 6.0 (ClusB - 6 esxi). Each cluster has own LUN (we have systems of storage EMC vnx 5500) and own vCenter. The goal is to migrate all virtual machines of 5.5 to 6.0. I thought to present (share) the logic of ClusA in ClusB unit number, so I have vCenter_ClusA stop the virtual machine, remove them from the inventory and the vCenter_ClusB add to the inventory of the virtual machine.

    Issues related to the:

Can I simply unregister the virtual fron 5.5 machine environment and enter them on environment 6.0?

Sharing LUNS between 2 cluster can be a problem? Consider after that the ClusA migration will be stopped.

This configuration would cause corruption datastore because two separate vcenters access to the same data store?

Thanks for the reply and sorry for my bad English!

    Please help me!

You can share data warehouses between the vCenter/cluster without problem. And on the task to unregister / register, don't forget to stop the VM on the old cluster before cancelling the registration of the stock.

Here's a blog showing that you can store data shared between the clusters/vCenters: with vSphere 5.0 and HA can I share data across clusters warehouses?

  • Share the data store between clusters

    Hello

I want to add a second group to our existing data center and want to use the same data store (iSCSI) as for the first group. Is it safe to share between clusters within the same vCenter/datastore? All hosts are running the same version of vSphere 5.1 and managed by vCenter device 5.1. If additional information is required, ask.

Yes you can share between clusters. You will share it on hosts. It won't matter for storage if the hosts are in a different cluster or a cluster, as you do at the host level.
