Warning of the AE - Disk Cache?

Untitled-1.png

Why that said that my computer does not have a space? AE is create a ton of data every time I use it? It requires more 16 GB for just work? So confused.

I want to move my Adobe programs on my D: drive, but I fear that this only creates more problems. But still, it is 16 GB on my C: drive and I get a warning?

I also have a separate hard disk with 236 GB available, I'm not sure of how to control the Cache options (and also, I don't exactly understand the amount of DATA that AE created when I use it).

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you guys.

AE warning:

Your disk cache folder is located on a drive that does not have enough available space to safely store the full amount specified in your preferences. If it please make more space available, or go to the media & Cache Disk preferences to change the size of the disk file cache or maximum. (I do not understand how AE needs more than 16GB of available).

A couple of things I noticed right away the top. First of all, with only four processors and only 8 GB of RAM you probably do not want to have several rendering on processor. Second, your disk cache is on your C drive. Just move money from disk on your D drive. It is also in the preferences, just on a different page. The last point is on moving your Adobe applications to the D drive. It must be uppercase. Do not. It will make a mess of just about everything.

About Dave, you should purge your disk cache often. Also do not set it to be too big.

Well now your post is over a year old, but recently, I had the same problem.

The solution was what you thought: redirect the path. But where? I searched the registry and there you have it:

There is a key named FolderPath. Set it on a drive local and first should do it again.

  • How can I change the preview disk cache?

I keep seeing statements such as "stop at nothing".

I don't find any opportunity to do anywhere. In the catalog settings it only "Shows" the location and does not change.  Am I missing something? I looked and looked and the process is nowhere described. It's very frustrating because I can find these things myself quite easily and in his totally buried LR if its possible at all.

    Also;

How can I change the calibration of the default camera with ACR 4.4 standard Adobe?  The first thing I do after every import is to go back and synchronize with a different camera profile.

Thanks in advance for any help

If you want to have your cache overview on another disc, simply copy any directory containing your Lightroom catalog on this disc. Once it of there, double-click the icon for the catalogue, and LR will open from there and use the previews that you will be moved on the disk (they are in the same folder as the catalog).

After you are satisfied that everything is working properly, you can delete the catalog and previews out of your system disk.

  • Acer R7 - 571 level disk cache to large SSD to the boot drive and keep the traditional HARD drive.

Is it possible to replace the drive 24 GB of cache in the R7-571 with a larger SSD (say 128 GB and 256Go) to use as the startup disk and keep the traditional disc for storage on the other?

I saw the references to individuals 'redevelopment' of SSD, but normally they keep the 24GB disk cache and upgrade their traditional 500 GB drive?
If it is possible to replace the disk cache of 24GO, it seems silly to keep it and throw a perfectly good car. Seems would not be much point in having the disk cache if your main player is an SSD.

Yes, I put a 128 GB Plextor M5M in my mSATA port. Make sure that you first create a USB recovery, then open the R7 and replace 24GO with your new mSATA disk drive.

Make sure that your new mSATA, not ordinary SATA SSD!

To answer this forward - there no option in my BIOS RAID, as seems to be the solution for other IdeaPad models.

Call the #1 to Lenovo Support - Tech first asked me to set up RAID and after having informed him there was no BIOS RAID option, he informed me of the installation of the equipment for caching SSD drive was fully automatic and needed no software. I found this suspicious and later decided to call again to ask for the check disk cache is enabled...

Call #2 to Lenovo Support - after a period of 90 min or so call and another suggestion to set up RAID, even if there is no other choice, the technology has suggested that "the only way to get the configured disk cache is to return the laptop to the warehouse for them charge the appropriate partitions.» I asked if he has ever heard about any other machine ever which were to be sent to the factory to get a piece of hardware working in the event of corruption of data/partition say hard drive, or if someone wanted to upgrade their hard drive. Am I the only one that sounds ridiculous? I have worked on 100 computers and never once had to send a back machine to load the drivers/utils to make a component work - they always had drivers available. And it is a plain jane Windows 8 install, nothing special about it.

I think that I figured this out finally. Here's what I did:
1 put flat as well the 1 TB drive and the 16 GB SSD, no flying over partitions, all unallocated space.
2A took the mSata SSD out of the machine before I tried Win8 installed, (leaving it in there, the windows carve 350 MB partition on the SSD drive for a reason even if I chose the 1 TB drive to settle).
    3. install Win8 (I have the Technet version).
    4. updated all drivers Lenovo Web site except the Intel RST util, and I hooked version of NVIDIA driver for my video GeForce GT 650 M.
    5. do you have all Windows updates.
6 clogged mSata SSD back in.
    7. download and install the 64-bit version of memory Cache Express (64-bit) that I found here:

    Cache Express downloads

    8. rebooted as guest

When I came back to the top, I saw my SSD had a partition created and I can only ASSUME since I didn't see any Cache Express installation error and he ruled out a partition on the SSD drive to work. Don't know how I can check it really worked, but it's wayyyyyy closer I got after working on it for a week. I SiSoftware Sandra and I ran a disk performance report before the installation of the Express Cache, so I want to try to run another report and compare.

Here is an image showing the readers:

    New Drives.jpg

Firstly a bit of my workflow.

I do my correction of color and most of the effects in the first.
I work mainly in first with dynamic link to 2015 after effects CC (audio mix in Audition with video export not dynamic link).

I work in After Effects alone is that for some intensive 3D editing, intros, outros.

When in Premiere Pro... I do the dynamic link to After Effects to replace After Effects Composition and to render in Place (can always come back to make changes later).

I do all my titles in After Effects with dynamic link as well. Yet once, make and replace it as always.

If it's something intense, I work in After Effects only and import that into first separately.

My projects are not huge. Never really more than 50 GB. Usually short videos upward at 10 minutes.

Now, I read in the manual on some of what I'm about to ask, but some is still not clear.

    Here are some shots:

First my global memory configuration (upgraded to 32 GB of RAM soon)

    Global Memory.jpg

First screenshots and issues: Please see at the beginning of this thread and the structure of the unit.

It is where I have my Cache of media and data base: G:\ which is a Sandisk Ultra II SSD 480 GB
    Premiere Cache.jpg

Now, my question is about the capture video and Audio captured. Type to get what it is...

but it also refers to all of my media files? Where are my media files and project files?

Don't forget, I have not checked my projects, I work on and moved in the new SSD.
My project files and media are going to go on the F: drive, which is a card Sandisk Ultra II 480 GB SSD.

Future projects will make their way.
As you can see I put my video Previews and Audio previews the G: drive, which is the other

SSD 480 GB SanDisk Ultra II.

Auto backup project, I guess that would be fine in the future as well as project.

    Scratch Disk.jpg

Now After Effects: Should which drive I set my Cache Disk too given my configuration?

    After Effects.jpg

Last part of this equation is export of Final project: when I export final, I manually select where I want. Which

Drive would give me the faster export? Size of exports nor more than 2 GB of the file. (mainly goes on youtube)

So I know that it is a wall of text and images, just try to give all the information.
If anyone has any input of the best configuration, it would be great.

I have two SSD Sandisk Plus 120 GB drives, with a slow writing of about 180 MB/s speed
Those that would be used in RAID0 of my Sandisk Ultra II died.

I was the same person who responded to your other post. I'll add my 2cents, but I hope others will come along to give their advice as well.

Another option of disk configuration, if your motherboard allows, is to make 2 raids.

    (C) Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB SSD (OS and programs)

    (D) DVD player

    (D) 2xSandisk more SSD 120 GB raid-0 (total 240 gb) (cache and previews)

    (E :)) 2xSandisk Ultra II 480 GB raid-0 (960 GB total) (media and projects))

    (F) external usb case or dock to hold the WD Black 1 TB (backups and storage)

There should always be a backup of the project and the media on any drive, but raid 0 can add more risk, it must be ensured that these backups are fact/available.

any project car record must be recorded in a different drive ongoing projects are being recorded. This is part of the idea of auto-enregistre is an automatic backup. its also been recommended to save the project as a copy, manually to another drive at least once a day, that auto-enregistre may fail or become corrupted (bugs).

After that the effects disk cache setting should go to the cache drive, that we call cache & previews. disk cache should be used in dynamic link when you render and replace in the first, after that, if you need space, you can empty the cache in AE to release this space.

the parameter memory in first: I don't think it means a lot, but I've seen people have to experiment only when getting poor performance. Looks like some had to put to memory or half of what was the total system, for first to work well. You may notice a difference in changing its settings.

the captured video and audio areas captured that I think are only for new media captured/recorded directly in the first. I don't think that it applies to as rendered files and replace the video or audio.

exports, your processor is only 4 core and depending on the amount of work the cpu must do during export, the performance of readers may not have any effect. If its export quickly, you can export to any drive other than the drive media/projects. If you're looking at the windows task manager and see cpu at 50-75% and think it's a disk it slows down, chances are his righteous inefficiencies in the low usage of the processor responsible for adobe software.

    Hi Ken Dunn,

Welcome to Windows 7 Community Forums

Basic disks and dynamic disks are of two types of hard disk configurations in Windows. Most personal computers are configured as basic disks, which are the simplest to manage. Advanced users and it professionals can make use of dynamic disks, which use multiple hard drives in a computer to manage data, usually to improve performance or reliability.

For more information, see the link below:

What are the basic disks and dynamic? :

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-SG/Windows-Vista/create-and-format-a-hard-disk-partition

I hopeYou have followed all the steps to shrink a partition correctly but, you encounter a problem, carry out the task. You can go ahead and try the following steps to reduce a volume.

    1. open the Control Panel (all items view)and click the Administrative Tools icon. then close the Control Panel window.

2 in administrative tools, click computer management , and then close the Administrative Tools window.

3 in the left pane under storage, click disk management.

4 in the center pane, right-click the partition that you want to shrink and click on Decrease of Volume.

5 type in how many MB (1 GB = 1024 MB) of space to show available reduction you want to reduce the partition or volume by to use for the new unallocated space, and then click the minimize button.

6 the partition selected (step 4) has now shrunk to create a new empty unallocated space. You can use this new space unallocated to create a new partition with.

7 close the computer management window.

    To create a new partition:

    1. you must first to reduce a partition or a volume create an unallocated partition to use to create the new partition or volume with.

    2. open the Control Panel (all items view)and click the Administrative Tools icon. then close the Control Panel window.

3 in administrative tools, click computer management , and then close the Administrative Tools window.

4 in the left pane under storage, click disk management.

5 in the center pane, right-click on the volume or unallocated partition empty and click on New Simple Volume. (See screenshot above)

6 click on the Next button

7 type in how many MB (1 GB = 1024 MB) you want to use from the unallocated partition to create the new partition, and then click the Next button. (See screenshot below)

NOTE: If you want to use all of the unallocated partition to create the new partition, and then enter all the maximum specified for the partition unallocated disk space. If you use any of the maximum disk space, you can use the left in the unallocted partition space to create another partition with.

Select an available drive letter you want to assign to the new partition in the computer, and then click the Next button.

9 enter a volume label name that you want for the new partition, check the perform a quick format , and click on the Next button

    Click on the Finish button

11 the new partition or volume has been created with the space in partition assigned unallocted (step 7).

12 close the computer management window

Check if you perform the same steps as above and us post if you have any other questions.

Hope the above information is helpful.

    Hello

You have lost your time shrinks for difficulty D: C:

    Read this:

Your recovery Partition was photographed on your hard drive during the production of your computer by the manufacturer for all of these reasons.

    1. to reinstall Vista from in the case of a failure of the system, based on individuals or the keys at startup.

F10 or Alt + F10 or F11 are a couple of different manufacturers use sequences.

You will need to ask your manufacturer for proper sequence.

    2. to make the recovery disks on if your drive hard breaks down, so that you can then reinstall the operating system on a new hard drive.

Also ask them how to make records.

Your D: Recovery Drive is should not be used for backups, defragmented, etc..

There are backups on an external hard drive.

To resolve the problems that have arisen with the recovery D: Partition, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your computer to remove all that has been added to it.

    See you soon.

  • disk cache

Just started using the AE and the need to know why is it whenever I open AE I have received a warning that my cache on disk is full and I always have to go through the process of emptying it. When I never even realized a project.

I understand the part of the RAM, but I do not understand why it is full all the time, and as soon as I clear disk cache is good, then I'll do a practice project and usually delete it once I'm done, then when I open AE the next day to start a new project, it's the same thing every time.  Clear the disk cache.  So it seems useless, therefore, that I assumed I must be doing something wrong.

Without adequate information and actually know your person disk cache configuration cannot tell you anything. This could be simply access problems on your drive due to permissions problems or a virus scanner interfering.

  • CS6 disk cache reporting Full when it is not

I put a 120 GB Samsung Pro 840 SSD Pro on a Sonnet Tempo card in my 4.1 Pro Mac to use an undesirable effect of the Disk Cache, I have 100 GB disk cache

Recently, AE reports often is not enough space on the disk for the cache when I start it.  When I look at the operating system drive, it is said there are more than 100 GB available and the cache file is 10 GB in size.  A previous time numbers were different, but the problem was essentially the same - I should have lots of free space, but it does not see AE.

What the hell is going on?

This message does not say that the cache is full.

This message indicates that there is not enough space to safely store the amount of cache that you specified.

Thus, the cache can have 20 GB inside now, but After Effects said you if she fills all of the 100 GB that you specified, and then you'll encounter problems.

This is intended as a warning polite to tour to the future you set the total size of the folder too high for the amount of space you have on your disk.

You should never fill a disc completely. You must always leave a free space. Opinions differ, but 20% is a good amount of conservative to release.
