• A problem with the Vista gadgets.

  I had gadgets - stock index, currencies (£-Euro) on my laptop since 2009 and experienced no problems. Recently, I had to have my reloaded Vista software as there is a "bug" in the program (CPU remained at 100%).

  Since that time my gadgets tell me that they are not available when they are obviously. (Service not available!)

  On startup or restarting my laptop, when the gadget box reappears on the sidebar, momentarily that the data appears then disappears very quickly to display "Service not available". Of course, which indicates that in fact, that the data are available.

• MS Vista Gadget - Feed Headlines date not displaying does not correctly

  I use the 'Flow of securities' gadget that came with my Vista Home Premium OS (sp2) and the dates are not displayed correctly.  Now they all appear "sat dec 30.  MsNBC stream displays the date correctly.  But other foods are not displaying the date correctly.  Is there a fix out there for this?

  I was just able to "Duplicate" your problem on my machine, so I think that its a problem with FoxNews and their news FEED.
  The Date on my Gadget for FoxNews also shows a Date of December 30.

  This doesn't seem to be a problem with Vista or Sidebar gadgets.

  Hello everyone

  Whenever I have add the weather gadget on my desk he repeats to me is not available in my area. This gadget worked perfectly on my previous installations of Windows, but for some reason any, that he refuses to work now. Any advice or tips?

  Go to Control Panel > region and language > location and make sure it has correct information.  Right click on the weather gadget, click Options , and do the same thing.

• Microsoft Calendar Gadget in the sidebar shows a square of orange color on Windows Vista

  I am one of many that the Vista gadget bar calendar of the disappeared and replaced by a blank orange calendar.  Have tried every difficulty read on help, without success. Instructions do NOT work!  Maybe Microsoft needs to send an update to this particular problem because many have.  My two computers show same.

  This problem occurs due to lack of scripting Runtime check. Save the file vbscript.dll from an admin command prompt solves the problem. Follow these steps:

   

  Method 1:

  (a) open an Admin command prompt window. To do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator.

  (b) type the following command and press ENTER:

  c) regsvr32.exe vbscript.dll

  You should see the following message after running the command:

  DllRegisterServer in vbscript.dll successful.

  Sorry, you have a problem with that.  I suggest trying to uninstall this gadget and then reinstall.  If you open the sidebar click on the (+) sign add a gadget at the top.  Then right-click on this gadget and select Delete.  You can then search gadget to reinstall.

• Vista News Gadget update not

  My new Vista gadget shows me new from dec 12 and before. This is the gadget comes with windows vista. I put it to display the "Microsoft feeds/MSNBC" feed. Can anyone help me get this gadget works again? It worked very well since I the machine (Nov. 2008) until dec. I finally got fed up and decided to ask how to run again. Any thoughts?

  In IE-> Tools menu-> options-> content tab Internet-> under feeds and Web slices, click the button "settings". Check the box before "Automatically check the flow and components Web Slice for updates". On the ' all: ' drop-down to select the desired frequency field. I hope I could help

• Cannot connect after update monthly weather gadget.

  Hello, my weather of MS gadget just stopped working right this morning after the reboot required by the monthly batch of updates that happened recently. It just says: unable to connect to the service. Any attempt to change the city just returns not found location. No other changes have occurred on the machine outdoors updates MS. Suppression and relocation of the gadget have the same results. The gadget, however, works very well on the administrator account, but all the standard users see the just failed to connect to the service. I even added a new standard user account and the problem persists. I tried most of the things that I could find in the forums but no luck...

  Have you checked if your Internet Explorer is not set to work offline.

  Microsoft has DISABLED the weather gadgets and currency via a recent update of security, because of worries about the vulnerability associated with these gadgets running on your computer. You can read more here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2719662 . Adjust the settings of your computer and all these other 'suggestions' people are, will NOT work. The function has been REMOVED from the operating system. It has also been removed from Windows 8 operating system. There are "theorists" who agrees that there is a security problem in the gadgets or Microsoft just doesn't support gadgets (usually from third party software) and has therefore disabled them in Windows 7 and eliminated in Windows 8.

  Method 1.
  To restore the default gadgets that are installed with Windows Vista, use the following steps:
  a. right click on an empty area in the Windows pane, and then click Properties.
  b. click on Restore gadgets installed with Windows.
  c. click OK.

  Method 2.
  This behavior is observed if the XML registration is missing in the system. To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  a. close Windows Sidebar, to do so, right-click on the Sidebar icon in the Notification area and click on leave.
  b. open a high command prompt window to do, click Start, click principally made programs, click Accessories, right click Guest and then click Run as administrator.
  d. in the command prompt window, type the following command and press ENTER:

  regsvr32 msxml3.dll

  Similarly, run these commands:

  regsvr32 scrrun.dll

  regsvr32 jscript.dll

  e. close the command prompt and restart the computer and check.

• What is the normal temperature for AMD Turion 64 X 2 Mobile TL - 60 Tyker 65nm technology?

  now, just after I turn on my laptop (HP Pavilion dv9533eg, bought in September 2007) the chip temperature is around 60 c.

  When I then my two browser (Chrome and Firefox), the temperature goes up to more than 70 C, sometimes 76 C!

  I use my laptop in bed or two, its on my desktop, even with a stand of support for laptop to be on, then all events are free.

  I read so many sites with reports on both or either the bullet or the graphics card isn't on this series of HP, I'm really scared, he could come to my laptop as well.

  I have a hp dv5 1002 with the same processor and I must say it's a big heating unit. weather hot ive seen do go at 100 degrees c after you run age dragon on graphics. This is so a few precautions that you must take

  1) keep on a desk, never keep on a bed/mattress or something blocking your circulation of air. It is best if you keep it on some sort of support or a cooling block. I found this woth a cooling pad that he will never overheat is the best way to go.

  (2) download and install the updates from hp driver for your motherboard. im sorry I do not have the link myself, but I managed to find via google.  The update will make your fan run a little faster and keep your laptop cooler

  (3) install software of temperature monitoring (free) as a Core Temp which is free and comes with Google desktop for windows vista gadgets and 7, so you can control your temp in real time on your desktop.

  (4) make sure that your fan and the heat sink is clean. On some hp computers laptop cleaning of the radiator can be a pain in the thigh, so its best you let a professional clean try it for you once or twice in a year

  Most of the computers laptops hp processors amd automatically reduce the basic tension when the temperature rises too high, so if your pc is overheating, you will see a significant reduction in performance.

  Remember that amd processors generally run a little more warm then intels and new hp laptops have an ineffecient cooling system so overheating is to be expected. But the mind a bit of love and care, it shouldn't cause you any problems.

  The above points just keep in mind and you'll be fine.

  Hello, can someone tell me if the DVD 5 film factory that comes with the F50 - 10Z (my machine) uses processor cell on it for the return. I tried creating many DVD and using transcoding, as demonstrated on the processor Cell HD video demonstration, but cannot see the cell processor to be used in the cell processor vista gadget.

  I've recently updated my OS to Vista 64-bit, is it possible I am missing some plug in HD processor for DVD 5 for Toshiba movie factory, material all the drivers are installed correctly, but you are looking for pointers?

  Hmm I don't think, but other DTV bundled apps do, and I think the program of the gesture as well.
