MS Vista Gadget - Feed Headlines date not displaying does not correctly

I use the 'Flow of securities' gadget that came with my Vista Home Premium OS (sp2) and the dates are not displayed correctly.  Now they all appear "sat dec 30.  MsNBC stream displays the date correctly.  But other foods are not displaying the date correctly.  Is there a fix out there for this?

Hi msPiggy

I was just able to "Duplicate" your problem on my machine, so I think that its a problem with FoxNews and their news FEED.
The Date on my Gadget for FoxNews also shows a Date of December 30.

This doesn't seem to be a problem with Vista or Sidebar gadgets.

    If you choose to protect all programs, you can always turn off DEP for individual programs. If you think that a program does not run correctly when DEP is enabled, check for a compatible version of the DEP program or an update from the software publisher before you change your DEP settings.

    Hi Jameswithey,

    1 did you recent hardware or changes to the software of the system?

    This error message usually refers to the mouse. If you have recently installed a new mouse on your computer, you may need to remove the software that came with your mouse and see if the problem persists.

    Step 1:

    Uninstall the mouse in programs and features

    a. click on start

    b. type appwiz.cpl in the start search

    c. search for all mouse software packages, right click and uninstall.

    Once it is removed, reconnect your mouse, restart your computer, and update the drivers.

    You can also consult the website of the manufacturer of mouse and try to update the latest version of the drivers.

  • How to display correct sRGB images in applications unmanaged Vista with a wide range of display?

    Hi all

    This isn't a simple question, and I don't expect the answers to be simple either.

    1. I have vista home premium
    2. I have a wide range of LCD, a screen with a significantly wider than the sRGB color profile (sometimes incorrectly called a display Adobe RGB)
    3. I have it calibrated with a Spyder3Elite
    4. Images look GREAT in color managed applications (including the windows photo gallery)
    5. Photos have air saturated outside color management applications, even if they are sRGB images.

    Here's what I need.  If an application is not color management then Vista should apply the sRGB profile AND map it on my monitor profile.

    What is happening now is the image is mapped directly to the color space of the monitor and let the oversaturated colors. The end result is that all images within windows and Internet Explorer are saturated. The only solution for navigation is to use a plugin to make the management of the colours of firefox or use safari.

    BTW. Even if windows photo gallery is the color of the slide show management is not argghhh.

    I have looked at the Advanced tab on the Vista color management, but did not find ANY documentation on the 'device profile' or 'View profile status' settings. They seem to be associated with what I need, but there is nothing in the help about it. What do mean? second question, sorry)

    Concerning
    JzE

    PS. I checked the color management using the 4 images at http://www.color.org/version4html.xalter. I have saved their drive and use them as a reference to quickly check if an application is successful or not color.

    I received this reply from Michael Bourgoin. Thank you, Michael, we now have at least one answer...

    Hi J___,.

    I wish I could give you some good news, but the fact is that most of the components of windows and the Windows desktop are always not color management. The Windows Photo Gallery and Windows Live Photo Gallery are the only elements of the Windows color reach the display profile. Most office applications will honor profiles embedded in images, source but then they convert to sRGB and throw it on the screen. And IE is not even honor profiles embedded in images...

    That you have determined, the settings in the color management control panel affect only the applications of color management. The settings in the tab Cpl Advanced CM are used to provide default values for the missing profiles needed for the creation of color transformation for WCS in color management applications. Again not to help.

    Regarding the application non-management of color management color "behind their backs" goes, it's very difficult to do in general. There is no easy way for the OS to tell if the color data that renders an application has already been color managed, or not.

    We have a technology called high color which will be in Windows 7 that aims to solve this problem. Color high-definition given color are first converted into a color space extended which uses the sRGB primaries, but which allows the values less than 0.0 and 1.0 above (let's call it sRGB-XR). Colourful is closely related to xvYCC and X.v.color of Sony. Range wide color data can be converted in this space with no loss. Displays (and maps) that support colourful are necessary to convert this space sRGB-XR internally to their native color space. With color high definition, the United Nations - RGB color management is treated as sRGB, which is unchanged when converted to sRGB-XR space (it's all in the [0.1] part of the encoding). But then peripheral compatible High Color will map correctly that in their native space, so the sRGB data never get oversaturated in being treated as if she was already in wide range native of screen space (as happens now). And any image content real wide range gets correctly mapped to take advantage of the wide range of the screen. The plumbing for High Color is under Windows 7. However, the Desktop Window Manager could not implement a high color support in time (this requires the use of a fixed or floating point rendering surface), if the Bureau will not use color high definition, however, in Win7. Maybe the next time.

    I would like to be able to give more excuses, explanations and communities.

    Best regards

  • Lack of drive DVD Vista - Oh, no it's not!

    I failed to find a similar question already answered that fits my particular set of circumstances.

    I just lost my CD/DVD on my Sony Vaio laptop equipped player of Vista 32 bit SP2.

    It does not appear in Windows Explorer, but it appears in the device as Manager works correctly.  He also appears in the management of the computer as drive G, which is what it was before, and even the name of the volume of the CD that is loaded is displayed correctly.

    It plays BluRay and movies on standard DVD and music CD discs in Media Player.  However, it does not seem to read data disks, (although the volume name is indicated in CM as I said) and is not available in Explorer.

    I removed upper and lower filters in the registry, removed the drive and cleaned the contacts and uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers.

    I have a feeling that if it were possible to establish why its drive letter does not appear in the Solution Explorer, then all problems would be solved.

    Any ideas please?

    PS. I also realized that my two disks of built-in removable storage, E and F are missing in Explorer Windows even if they are reported as working properly in Device Manager and have their correct drive letters in computer management.  When I insert a memory card in one of them, the management of the computer recognizes his presence.  My readers HD (C and D) work fine in Explorer.  Oh, and autoplay (or autorun) no longer works when I insert a CD or a memory card.

    (When I talk about the drive letter, I mean that the disk is missing, not only the letter).

    I HAVE IT SOLVED!  (And it was simple - it's not always the way?)

    I have Tweak VI installed, and for some reason any he had deselected the three discs that I had lost.  I don't know how it happened but when I ran earlier, I found that in the utility 'Hide the Explorer disk drives', only hard drives have been checked and all other checkboxes disc were empty.  I checked those I've been away, restarted the computer and they were there.  Same AutoPlay works fine now.

    I hope it's useful to someone else with the same problem.

  • VISTA DRIVER DOWNLOADS, BUT WILL NOT ACTUALLY INSTALL...

    A few weeks ago, I was on my computer and it will randomly stop. When I tried to turn it back on, it just kept power off.  Finally, he gave the option to start Windows normally or start Windows repair. I tried to boot normally, it did not work. My computer felt hot so I let it alone for a while. It restarted a few hours later, but this time launched Windows Repair. It has not always worked, so he allowed me to restore to a date, he has already worked correctly.

    Now, it will not install THE drivers or update ALL drivers.  (I have four obsolete drivers).  He will say it's install software device driver, I chose the choice to locate and install the driver. It looks in Windows update. But then he leaves these messages every time: Windows encountered a problem installing the software driver for your device. GOLD Windows found driver software for your device, but has encountered an error trying to install it. Sometimes it is said: the process cannot access the file because another process is used.

    HP has been little or no assistance, given that my laptop is now out of warranty.  They told me to run the Windows File Checker utility, and the results, said: Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to solve some of them.  I was also told to perform an audit of the memory and hard drive, but everytime I try, my computer just turns off!  I try to run the Diagnostics but I saw several devices that have been disabled, and I don't know how they got that way.  The final result with HP is always restore your computer to its factory settings, but I don't understand why I should do before I know if it's a hardware or software problem.  If I restore to factory settings, I lose all my programs installed? How do I get those back?  How can I find the facilities? And if I restore, Windows Vista still work properly?  I don't know what to do and I am at my wits end, can anyone help?

    Hello

    Who "felt really hot" worries me. If you have a store of the local computer (the one that is internal
    repairs and not a leek and display a Best Buy or other stores) or HP Support I
    have so look to it. Frankly you should first return it to factory specs and see if
    It works correctly and if not ask such technical assistance indicated previously

    We might be able to help solve the problems, but that would be unnecessary if the heat has
    damage to the computer, which makes it look like is the case. Added that this process of repair is not likely
    work and would take longer to restore the system back and reinstall your programs.

    You need to get your programs from the same source, that you did initially. Make sure that you have
    the product keys needed to install everything. Have your sources and your keys aligned in front of you
    begin the review.

    You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer as a 2nd disk (best) or external
    Drive USB enclosure and then backup to removable media such as CD, DVD or other USB drives.
    Of course a real store of the computer or the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files.

    Or you can use a boot Ubuntu CD to back up data.

  • "The network adapter is not correctly configured to use the ip Protocol" problem on Vista

    Hello. My PC has recently came across this problem "the network adapter is not correctly configured to use the ip Protocol", every time I click on diagnose & repair. I don't know how to fix it. Please help, thanks in advance. Magic

    Hello X-x_MaGiC_x-X,

    Thank you for visiting the website of Microsoft Windows Vista Community.

    Try the rest of the stage in this article:

    System restore points are created automatically when the following occur:

    • When you install a new application or driver.
    • When you uninstall or install some programs.
    • When you install new updates
    • Automatically on a daily interval
    • Manually by creating a.
    • If you choose to use system restore to restore to a previous restore point, System Restore creates a new restore point before you restore a previous state in case something goes wrong. If you are restoring to a previous state in Mode without failure, a restore point will create for the current state.

    So that the restoration of the system to work, you must have 300 MB of free space for each hard disk that monitors the system restore. System Restore will also use up to 15% of disk space on each disk that it monitors. That hard disk space runs out, older restore points will be deleted as newer ones. It is also important to note that you must be logged in as an administrator in order to use the system restore. Now that you understand the basics of the system restore, you must continue to the next section to learn how to use it.

    Restore Windows Vista to a previous state

    In the case of a problem on your computer that cannot be solved by normal means, you can restore your computer to a previous working state. To do this, you need to start restoring the system so that you can choose the restore point to restore. If you currently have Windows Vista boot problems, you can use the system restore in Windows recovery environment. Instructions on how to do it in this tutorial can be found: System Restore using the Windows Vista recovery environment.

    If you can connect to Windows Vista, you must follow these steps.

    1. Close and save any documents that you have opened.
    2. Click the Start button to open your Start Menu. The Start button looks like this:
    3. When the Start Menu open click on the menu option all programs.
    4. Click once on the Start Menu Accessories group.
    5. Click once on the System Tools Start Menu group.
    6. Click once on the icon of the system restore. After you click the icon, if a user account control window opens, click on the button continue.

    You will now be on the screen as shown below in Figure 1 system restore. From this screen, you can specify the restore point that you want to restore.

    1 screen of system restore

    By default, Vista will be already selected the restore recommended option. This restore point is one followed a new pilot program, or update has been installed. If you do not want to use this restore point, you can click on the button next to start the restore process. On the other hand, if there is a more recent restore point that you want to restore you should select choose a different restore point and press the next button. This will bring you to a screen, as shown in Figure 2, which contains a list of all available restore points that you can restore.

    2. the list of available restore points

    You must select the restore point that you want to restore, and then press the button next to start the restore process. Vista will display a window showing your selected restore point and asking you to confirm that it is that you want to restore.

    3. confirm the selected restore point

    If you want to select a different restore point, press the Back button. Otherwise, you can press the Cancel button to exit the system restore or the button finish to begin the restore process. If you have selected finish, Vista will display a second prompt asking you to confirm that you want to continue restoring.

    4. second Confirmation

    If you are sure you want to restore, then press the Yes button. Vista will now log you off the computer and start the system restore process, as shown in Figure 5 below.

    5. restoration of a restore point

    When the restore is complete, your computer will be restarted and when Vista starts it backup will be restored to its previous state. When you open a Vista session for the first time after the restore, you will see a message indicating that the restore was successful.

    6. system restore was successful

    If there are problems with your computer because the last restoration, you can return to your previous settings to ebb in the system restore utility and select Undo system restore by pressing the next button.

    7 undo the last system restore

    Your computer should now work correctly again.

    With the help of the restoration of the system in the Windows recovery environment

    Manual creation of Restore Points

    As mentioned previously, it is also possible to create manual restore depending on points. Some popular designs to create manual restore points are when you have your computer configured perfectly and I would save the State in case of problems in the future. To create a manual restore point, you must follow these steps:

    1. Click the Start button to open your Start Menu. The Start button looks like this:
    2. Click on the control panel menu option.
    3. Click the option menu system and Maintenance.
    4. Click on the system menu option.
    5. Click on the System Protection in the list on the left.

    You will now be at the System Protection tab in the system control panel. This tab allows you to enable and disable the system restore as well as making the new manual restore points.

    8. the System Protection tab

    To create a manual restore point, you must click on the button create. When you press this button a prompt asking you to give a title to this manual restore point.

    9. Enter the manual restore point title

    Type a title for the manual restore point and press the button create. Vista will now create a restore point manually and once finished, post a notice that it was created successfully.

    10. Manual restore point has been created

    Now that you have finished doing the manual restore point, you can close the system window.

    Try to download the correct and up-to-date drivers.

    This should solve your problem.

    Let us know if these steps solve your problem.  I hope the information is useful.

    Kind regards

    Black screen problems are extremely difficult to repair and all patch is usually on a base hit or miss.

  • Some planning reviews don't show all the data. "no data to display.

    Hello

    As I changed the policy for oversized VM, planning does not seem to work.

    For example, I have 6 power VM off, but in the planning - views - Machine virtual Powered-Off, I have nothing other than a small text at the bottom: "no data to display.

    Vcops_issue.JPG

    As you can see on the left of the screenshot, I have a few VM power - off, and I guess that Vcops know because it display the logo "off voltage VM', but still, to planning - finds out, he does not list these VM.

    I don't know if it's because I change politics for oversized VM, but I put back it by default, and the problem is still there.

    Thanks in advance for your help.

    (And sorry if my English is approximate)

    Sorry, I did not explain my problem very clearly:

    The engine out of sight the listed me, some VM before I get a parameter to the default value of policy, but then: no VM more not listed in the display. Even after you return, I changed this setting to normal, the virtual machine has not p showed in the sight of power off.

    But still, the problem is "solved", it works now, I just had to wait. I think that Vcops recalculat every thing when you change something in politics, and it took more time than I have.

    In any case, thanks mark.j

  • CustomObjectTreeModel displays does not correctly

    Hello

    I created a Database Explorer tree model. It seems my attempts to try to make it as simple as possible got the best of me.

    I created a generic object that has a property name with a get accessor and a Set accessor, I also override the ToString method to return the name as well as a summary get icon method for tree cellrenderer.

    I created other objects, the table, schema and the field objects that inherit from this object.

    I decided against store a list within each of these object, to remedy this, I did the generic object inherit from ArrayList.
    public abstract class GenericObject extends ArrayList<GenericObject> {

        private String name;

        /**
         *
         * @param name
         */
        public GenericObject(String name) {
            this.name = name;
        }
        /**
         *
         * @return
         */
        public String getName() {
            return this.name;
        }
        /**
         *
         * @param name
         */
        public void setName(String name) {
            this.name = name;
        }
        /**
         *
         * @return
         */
        @Override public String toString() {
            return this.name;
        }

        public abstract ImageIcon getIcon();

        }
    Basically, the JTree does not display objects properly (Yes, the root of the jtree object inherits from GenericObject too).

    I wonder if my generic typing is not correct, or if the JTree can not handle this type of object (which doesn't seem likely).

    I don't know if I'm supposed to do that "public class GenericObject < E extends GenericObject > extends ArrayList ' or if it should be as in the example above?

    Also, when I created the 'picture' of the class - "Table/public class extends GenericObject < field >"-should I do this?

    This simplifies the TreeModel as everything I do is the following:
        /**
         * Returns the child of the parent
         * @param parent
         * @param index
         * @return Object
         */
        @Override public Object getChild(Object parent, int index) {
            return ((GenericObject) parent).get(index);
        }
    How I did it, means all objects must be fully recursive.

    Technically, it should be a hierarchy, something like this:

    Root > databases > patterns > Tables > fields

    Because each object stores a child of the GenericObject.

    Kind regards
    Michael

    The problem is probably somewhere in your TreeModel (or even simpler your not to load the data that you are). Hard to say where the since you did not have this zip code.

    Looks like you are looking for

    public class GenericObject extends ArrayList {}
    public class Table extends GenericObject {}
