Web site rejected my attempt to connect

What should I do?  Web sites reject my attempts to communicate with them

That's according to the messages I receive. I can't connect to the Internet, although I have at least a message saying that I AM connected to the Internet.  I have connected to MS via an iPad.  There are probably some malware to work.  I have a laptop of Dell Inspiron under MS Windows 7 Ultra.

Yesterday, I tried to download a software that would open up an ARJ file. The program that I downloaded, I was surprised to see, has been either 75 or 175 megabytes.  I became more interested when I saw the installation options.  The usual configuration would have replaced my home page by page 7 - the something apparent owner, such - something and would add all sorts of widgets, sorry, I don't remember the names.  I clicked on advanced and not clicked on all the options Configuration.  Then, he has not installed correctly, even if at least a widget (for temperature) got through. However, at this point, I decided I didn't want it and delete the download. I thought everything was ok.

However, the next day I couldn't connect to the Internet.  I got a message saying genius box or something like that wouldn't let me.  My wife said it was an unwanted program, so I uninstalled.  However, I couldn't always get online.  I received a message something like the target server, I tried to get wouldn't let me because my computer is not configured for the World Wide Web or HTTP.  I had other similar messages.  Most of them, said that the site or the server has rejected my attempt to connect.  I suspect that forced some of the 75 megabytes program with perhaps a line or two to say code if no configuration, access to Internet and disable the program restore.  I tried to put my laptop back a few days before the download but I got a message twice, saying that recover did not finish because it could not access some files.

So I'm back where I started.  No Internet connection, no online help.   As I said, I am writing this on my iPad. I tried to disable security programs, but got the same result.  I didn't go to advanced restore because that would probably eliminate all my programs and I do not know where all of my discs are for resettlement.

Quick scans turned up nothing.  I am running a full scan with MS Security Essentials.

Any ideas?

BRITISH COLUMBIA

I was skeptical, but restore running in Mode safe mode worked!  I'm on duty again.  Thank you very much.

  • How to build a Web site for exclusive members to connect to?

I'm looking to build a website that people can apply to become a member. Once I spent reviewing the application that I wish I could send them an email with the login to this website exclusive members. The home page would be an area to be able to submit a request or the connection. The rest of the site could not be visible if they have a user name and password. Anyone have an idea how I can create a site like this using Adobe Muse?

    Hello

Please check this thread, Re: can I create a login/password in the Muse for a HTML5 page or two?

  • Each Web site returns "your connection is not safe."

I am on a mac under OS 10.10.3 and just installed Firefox 47.0.1. However, I am unable to connect to any Web site, but receive

    "Your connection is not secure.

The owner of www.google.com has misconfigured their Web site. To protect your data against theft, Firefox has not connected to this Web site.

This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HST) to specify that Firefox didn't connect safely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate. »

It's the same message that I receive for each Web site, including Mozilla. I've been unable to find a workaround, and so far this has made just useless browser. It is only to proceed with Firefox, Chrome and Safari are working perfectly.

When you get this for virtually all secure sites, the problem is usually as follows:

    (1) error of date, time, or time zone who throw checks validity of the certificates of your system. Sometimes allowing to use a timesource on the internet, the computers can introduce this problem.

    (2) not be set up to work with your security software that intercepts and filter secure connections from Firefox. Products with this feature include Avast, BitDefender, Bullguard, ESET and Kaspersky. AVG LinkScanner / SurfShield can cause this error on search sites.

If you have one of these specific security products: Check this technical support article: How do I resolve the error 'SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER' on the protected pages code.

    (3) 10 Windows, Firefox does not put in place to work with Microsoft's parental parental control software. (To test by turning it off, see: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wi.../turn-off-microsoft-family-settings)

    (4) malicious software on your system for the interception of secure connections.

If none of those ring a Bell:

You can inspect a specimen of the certificate to see if that points to the culprit. If you want to try it now, here is how I suggest to start:

Load my test page at: https://jeffersonscher.com/res/jstest.php

You will probably get an error page. Expand the "Advanced" button, and then look for a button Add Exception.

Note: You don't need to complete the process of adding an exception - I suggest not adding one until we know that it is not a malware issue - but you can use the dialog box to display the information that makes Firefox suspicious.

Click Add exceptions and exception certificate dialog box should open.

Click on the button display. If the view is not enabled, try first the button get certificate.

This should display the certificate. Look at the section "issued by" and the Details, the hierarchy of certificates tab. What do you see here? I have attached a screenshot for comparison of screen.

  • I had problems with access to most of the Web sites and I noticed that HTTPS is no longer, how do I make permanent HTTPS so I can access any Web site?

I had problems with access to most of the Web sites and noticed that HTTPS no longer appears whenever I try to access a Web site. I can easily connect to my gmail and facebook account, but the problem is that when I click on a link on FB and gmail, I get the annoying message "refused to connect.

How to address this issue, rather how to make HTTPS permanent so I can easily access any Web site. The date and time on my laptop are both correct. I am currently using OS x 10.9.5.Please!

How to address this issue, rather how to make HTTPS permanent so I can easily access any Web site.

My guess is that you have a damaged or invalid certificate entry OS X KeyChain, but to directly answer this question, I would say that consider you something like HTTPS Everywhere. Note, it is not available for Safari. It is available directly through the Google Chrome browser extensions.

    Hi NJ123,

    • What browser you use on the computer.

Try the step below only if you are using Internet explorer as your web browser.

You can delete all store passwords and other information that you type in the fields of web form using the AutoComplete feature in internet explore.

When Internet Explorer starts, AutoComplete is disabled. To turn it on or off, follow these steps:

    1. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button and then about Internet Explorer.
    2. Click Tools and then click Internet Options.
    3. Click the content tab.
    4. Under AutoComplete, click settings.

  • Windows Vista cannot access https Web sites

    Hello

My friend Tommy has an Acer Aspire 5315 with an Intel Celeron 550 CPU and 1 GB of RAM.  Service Pack 2 for Windows Vista HomeBasic runs.  He got the computer in the United Kingdom but lives now in Australia.
He wants to access his hotmail and facebook messaging, but can't.
The http sites normal http://google.com/ work very well for him.  However, it seems that whenever he tries to use a Web site by using an https connection, it gets a "Internet Explorer cannot display this webpage" or equivalent.
It connects via a Huawei E585 Pocket Wifi device - it connects to wifi then broadcasts a wireless internet connection to his computer.  He gets his internet through Vodafone Australia.  I have a similar device - a keen wireless thus N420.  It can also connect through it.  Its problems occur for both devices.  My internet works fine on my computer using my camera.  Therefore, it is not a problem of modem and is an internal problem to his laptop computer.

All his problems occur in the same way for Internet Explorer, Chrome, and Firefox.  So it isn't a browser-specific problem.
I have disabled the Windows Firewall.  He always gets the error messages.
It is not * seem * to have a firewall installed, even if it was AVG free anti-virus installed.
AVG Vault shows that he has been hit by at least 4 Trojan horses in the past.
His computer is incredibly slow - processing both with the internet.  My internet is too slow, so this is probably due to a bad ISP.

  • Cannot access previously accessible Web site

I'm unable to connect to a Web site that I have already connect to a maximum until 3 days ago. Now, I receive the following message:

    The connection has expired

The server to www.risingpenny.com takes too long to respond.

The site may be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

This is the only site that I have problems with, and the site is still running, as I received an email from them yesterday. The site in question is risingpenny.com. I tried to connect to it on other computers in my house where maybe I changed the settings on my computer by mistake, but still no luck.  I have Windows 7 and my computer is a Dell Inspiron. If anyone can help me or has experienced the same problem I would appreciate any information available.

    Thank you

    Kimberly

Hi Kimberly, I see this is your first post here. Welcome to our community!

Regarding your concern, if the site fails to load on all your computers, you can be sure that it is not a problem with all your computers.  Instead the Web site itself may be the problem.

You are unable to access the site right now?  I can reach it now (09:45 Central time).

  • In China, the surf is very slow because each site tries to load facebook or twitter in some way. Is it possible to block attempts to connect to twitter and facebook, so I don't have to wait up to 2 minutes to load a Web site?

As you might or might not know, in China facebook and twitter is blocked by the national firewall. I don't care for this subject, but what is disturbing me it is that so many websites of the West try to connect to api.twitter.com or facebook, you can see in the lower right. Because here, the firewall blocks attempts, firefox continues to try for a minute or two, until he gave up and finally to display the content of the Web site. Is it possible that I can do to wait a response from this sites in firefox? It is initially blocked in my computer so I can have a normal surfing experience? I hope you understand the point im trying to make.
