  I'm trying to get a Logitech C270 webcam to work with Chromebox.

  After plugging in USB I can see in the settings. However when I try to run all apps like toy webcam or camera camera I do not get any picture on the screen remaining black.

Then while I was their read more on this feature. I clicked on cat sale of HP. They who are here in the United States. I asked her if can connect a Webcam to the Chromebox. In return, she replied that no Chromebox does not support webcams. I do not think myself because need to webcams video cards installed on devices such as computers in size. This Chromebox is just mainly used for display of things and has very little operating software. I'm sorry. I don't understand it because cell phones have cameras and they are very small. I guess it's just the way it is the design and what they wanted it to do. For me I think that they are only trying to deceive the people calling next generation computer. Sure doesn't look like a cell phone is more options, they call a computer then this thing don't. This is why the web cam does not work. frrw

• Latest version of Skype for Windows stops unexpectedly

  This is not the Preview version of Skype, but is the oldest Skype for Windows, version 7.28.80.101. I'm a (paying) happy user of Skype for the past 7 years, and it is pretty central to my work as a tester of computer software.   I did not see Skype on my computer and can not verify this behavior, but this problem has been reported elsewhere.

  I had a new HP Pavillion Elite running Windows 7 and bought a HP Webcam HD 3110 which is supposed to have Skype compatibility (clearly indicated on the packaging).  The webcam came with a bunch of software (ArcSoft Magic - i Visual Effects2, ArcSoft Webcam companion 3, ArcSoft Connect and ArcSoft ShowBiz).

  When I turn on my webcam using the ArcSoft program it seems to work fine (I can see and record videos with sound). When I try to use Skype, the sound works fine (there is a microphone on the camera). In Skype, the video does not work and it gives me the message "cannot start video renderer. Make sure you have a valid installation of DirectX.

  I have the latest version of the driver for the webcam, I have the latest version of DirectX (version11) and the latest version of Skype (version 5.0.0.152). I tried to use "ManyCam" program that some people recommended, but it did not work. Anyone else have this same problem? Someone knows how to solve?

  I think HP has provided an update to the drivers of webcam which solves this problem... and Skype will include a fix soon.

  Friday last Skype forced me to update. so far, I've used the 6.1.999 special version. With the 6.18.0 of the latetest version it does not recognize the webcam not more. There are configuration-> device management. No other program is using the webcam. Why Skype does not see the camera?

  Remove the whole Logitech software and remove the USB ports on the Device Manager.
  After restarting again the operating system should recognize and initialize the USB ports again
  Then follow the installation manual for the use of the mouse

  If you temporary disable each capture device at a time (right click, then choose turn off), it is a specific device that is causing the problem? I just tried our Logitech C920 on a machine to win 10 and had no problems. I didn't install the app store, simply Win 10 to find the default driver for it.   All 2 seconds my webcam turns off and sometimes it turn on at all and I can only see my profile picture. She does so only on my computer. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the special version.   I was using Skype to chat this AM and keep Skype running. When I looked again the language of the INTERFACE was changed to a (including fonts), that I do not recognise. So I can't use the menus... and begins at the cursor to the right instead of to the left in the chat window.
  
  I reinstalled Skype with English as the language of choice. Skype has always with the same "non-English language. I do not use that language for any other purpose on this laptop.
