Webcam on Toshiba laptop

My Toshiba laptop built in webcam has stopped turning and now I am unable to take pictures. The icon for me to open the webcam has also removed on my home screen, what can I do to solve this problem?

Hello Peyton Middleton,

1. don't you make changes to the computer (software or hardware) which he has stopped working?

I suggest that you download and install the latest drivers for the Webcam from the Web from Toshiba website. Here is a link you can follow to download and install the latest drivers:

http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/support/JSP/home.jsp?NAV=download

Select your model and download the drivers.

Also try to reinstall the Toshiba Webcam application.

    Hello

Since you upgraded to Windows 7 have you run Upgrade Advisor and verify with the
Compatibility Center (for the compatibility of the device)?

    Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor <-- please="" run="" this=""> http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/get/upgrade-advisor.aspx

Also check the Compatibility Center (for the compatibility of the device)?

Check with the system and peripheral manufacturers for updated drivers and many have special
instructions to help the upgrade to Windows 7. You should also check with the system
Machine to ask in their forums (if any) for known problems and solutions and support.

If the system is compatible Windows 7 AND there are drivers for your WebCam
    (and other devices).

Vista references apply to Windows 7.

You probably need to reload the drivers of the device and the camera'IF' control software
    There is for Windows 7.

    Login as an administrator.

Control Panel - Device Manager - Imaging - write down of the brand and the model of camera - double
Click on it and on the tab of the driver is version. Now, click on update drivers (who cannot do anything
that MS is far behind the drivers of certification). The RIGHT CLICK on the camera - UNINSTALL-
REBOOT - it will refresh the driver stack.

Now, go to the system manufacturer's website and download the latest driver of the camera and other partners
the camera software (if not more recent get the same).

Download - SAVE - go to them and RIGHT CLICK - RUN AS ADMIN - reboot after each driver.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

If there are no Windows 7 drivers:

You can try loading the latest driver available in Compatibility Mode which sometimes
work however, it isn't anywhere near a sure thing.

Exhausted all other methods in the Troubleshoot utility above before trying these.

Logon as ADMINISTRATOR for all of them.

You can try Compatibility Mode but this rarely works on the device drivers.

Right click on the driver executable (.exe) file - select Compatibility Mode

In the drop-down menu choose XP or Vista and Service Pack (if it is the version
    "you try the drivers).

Click OK, and then let the race to see if it will install.

It also rarely works on the device drivers but it is worth trying:

Another method to try is to run the .exe (if self extraction) or Unzip (if it is compressed) to a folder:

Open an elevated command prompt : (probably looks like this)

    C:\Windows\System32 >

CD \the path to this folder as C:\User\Your user Name\Camera_Folder or something else
the path is the folder where the driver is unpacked.

So in this case it would be \User\Your User Name\Camera_Folder CD and the prompt
    look like:

    CD \User\Your user Name\Camera_Folder >

This in type at the prompt and press ENTER.

    -I - one *.inf PnPUtil

It will take a little time to respond.

If it does not (error) use the full path to the driver, for example (which can be used
    any guest):

    PnPUtil-i - one C:\User\Your user Name\Camera_Folder\*.inf

Still wait to see if it will install.

  • My computer toshiba laptop has a webcam that doesn't work. Less than 6 months

I've only used the unit about 6 times and has always worked well until one day it didn't work.  my system is windows vista Home premium 32-bit.  I tried the update of drivers, reinstalling the software assistant camera and with the included disks system recovery.  He said drfiver open fail restart camera or computer.

    Hi hollywood1973,

    Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forums.

First of all, I would say that you install the latest drivers for the integrated webcam site of laptop manufacturers and are looking for the latest drivers for the installation of the webcam it restarts the computer and check if it works.

If the step above does not resolve the question suggests that you repair the software assistant camera on the control panel.

Click on camera Assistant in the Panel control/programs/uninstall a program.  Click on the Camera Assistant Software. Then choose repair.

If the steps above does not resolve the question suggests that you contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer for more information.

  • Can I use the Windows Vista I had with my Toshiba laptop on virtual machine?

    Hey all

I have changed Microsoft for Macintosh, but installed on a virtual machine (oracle vm virtual machine) my Windows Vista I got with my Toshiba Satellite A350D Notebook previous. I installed Vista with the recovery disk. Now he asks me the Windows Vista product key. The sticker on the back of my laptop is more readable. I run the Belarc Advisor to get the product key in this way. But right now, he said: "it's the product key installed at the factory by the manufacturer rather than yours. You can change this to your product key here for Windows http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=45668"

My question: am I not allowed to use windows vista legally, I had with my computer toshiba laptop on other devices? I won't use the Thoshiba laptop. Do I have to delete the record from the Thoshiba laptop? Where can I get a new product key?

Maybe someone can help me here. Thank you in advance for taking your time to read this.

    Betty

Recovery disk or recovery image is designed for some cell phone only and is not a kind of universal image that can be used on other devices. It comes with the laptop.

You can use the Microsoft Windows disk with valid license on each device. Recovery image is not only BONES. This is the package that contains the drivers and tools specific to Toshiba and utilities.
As you also know recovery image when you install it on your laptop must be turned on not so the license code downstairs just proves you have purchased a valid license with your laptop.
    > Should I remove the record of the Toshiba laptop?
    Not why do this?
    > Where can I get a new product key?
You cannot get it because you need when you use the recovery image on your Satellite A300D. I think even you will hear of Toshiba.

  • Cloning of Toshiba laptops with sysprep

    Hello

We have a lot of different brands and models of laptops and have a sysprep image that we use for all of them and so far had no other problem that have to update the drivers after the laptop has been photographed.

That is until we started to buy Toshiba laptops!

After that we photographed the laptop it blue screens with either

    PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

    Stop: 0 x 00000050 (0xF0000223, 0 x 0, 00000002 00000000, 0x806BAF76)

    or a

    STOP 0x0000007B

Even after the repair of the image it blue screens.

So far, we had to build a new image for each laptop model Toshiba and then image.

Any ideas on how I can get my sysprep image to work?

    Hi crystalreef,

Hmm different laptops have different hardware, so I don't think you can use a single image for all mobile phones. Each computer or laptop model requires the image clean s with own drivers and isn't compatible with other models.

You can install Windows Toshiba Recovery disk?

  • Can I play my xbox one through my Toshiba laptop?

I can play my xbox one through my Toshiba laptop, I have windows 8. I tried to connect my xbox to my laptop via a HDMI cable and no picture came on my laptop to my xbox one screen. you wonder how to do this job.

would appreciate help on how to do this thanks.

    Hello

As far as I know that something like this is not possible. HDMI port is for output only. You cannot send the audio and video signal to your laptop using the HDMI port and use the internal display for external devices.

  • External charger for Toshiba laptops

Basically, I have a toshiba laptop and the connection between the charger and the laptop real is in ruins, I had this problem before and found better to just get a whole new laptop, is there not an external charger that I could buy that would work or at least a way to get my pictures off of it?
    Thank you.

    This charger doesn t exist.

Jurgo is quite right. For a few Euros you can buy external enclosure for SATA HDDs. put your HARD drive in this case and connect it to the USB cable and another PC / laptop as external drive.

On this way, you will have full access to all your stored data.

  • Can I connect simultaneously on Toshiba laptop to 2 external displays?

    Hello

I am interested to know that toshiba laptop currently on offer support 2 external monitors simultaneously (one normal and then as dekstop extended in windows). I'm looking to replace my old configuration of the laptop and a station connected to two external monitors with a resolution of 1280 x 1024.

I was looking on toshiba websita to
    Portégé R700-15 q
    http://UK.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/product/Portege-R700-15Q/1089286/toshibaShop/false/

with Port Replicator Port PA3680U-1PRP then some other laptop port replicator who but not the case on the site I could find if any concrete model supports the dual use of the two (VGA and HDMI or VGA and DVI) port

I was looking on the the user guide at http://www.csd.toshiba.com PA3680U-1PRP Port Replicator
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/support/JSP/modelContent.jsp?CT=SB&OS=&category=&MOID=2756712& rpn = PA3680U & modelFilter = PA3680U-1PRP & SelCategorie = 2756711 & selFamily = 116319
and in the troubelshouting part, I found this:

    Cannot display information to a
DVD-D and RGB monitor to the
    same time

Check that the cables connecting the monitors are firmly fixed on
both ends. Some computer models don't support DVI and RGB output
monitors simultaneously. See the documentation for your computer
    model.

But even if you find on http://www.csd.toshiba.com the file pdf of detailed spec and user guides, there is no information on whether they take in charge simultant output to monitors or not and what is the maximum resolution supported for this.

    Thanks for any help

    Ian

As far as I know it is not possible to connect two external displays. I know that you can only use a port. If you want to use two screens you probably external device as Toshiba Dynadock.

    Check it out.

    Hello Perek

3G (third generation) technology is fairly new technology and it is used in the context of mobile standards. A few weeks ago, I found an interesting article on Portege M400 and 3 G.

At the moment it is only model of Toshiba laptop with 3G, 3G antenna module and a reader of card SIM (place on the lower side).

  • How do I know a real PC Toshiba laptop

Home, please, can someone help with reliable advice on how to know or recognize a genuine Toshiba laptop, including Toshiba laptops designed for use in Ammerica North or in Europe?
I don't want to fall prey to sellers of fake or cloned phone.
    Thank you.

You want to buy a new laptop or used already?

Anyway, each laptop model has original Toshiba sticker at the bottom. There you can find the model name, model number and serial number. You can use this information to identify the laptop.
    > I don't want to fall prey to sellers of fake or cloned phone.
To be honest I ve never seen or heard of some cloned laptops.

  • Need advice on this Toshiba laptop to get

    Hello

Just joined and hope im this ad in the right place. I need advice on this Toshiba laptop to get. It will be used for photo editing. Must have a 15/16 screen. Big screen would be nice. Programs that I run are Adobe and Photoshop light room. I use a wacom tablet with 2 external hard drives. It will be used manly at home and in the studio.

    Thank you very much

    Hi Tacker

In general I think that the best option for you is to buy notebook series Satellite A. Something like Satellite A665. It's very nice for laptop with good material and enough performance that you can use for your work.

I prefer laptops with bigger screen so for years I use Satellite P laptops with screens of 17 or 18. Right now I use the Satellite P500. It's the big machine. For me the best Toshiba laptop, I had over the past 10 years.

When you have a little time to visit Toshiba page for your country and check which models Satellite are available in your country. Choose the one with the better graphics chip, enough Ram and, of course the HARD drive with enough capacity.

Please be so kind and post comments. It will be nice to read what you think of this.
