WebCenter portal and Content Server Security Risk (servlets useless and exposed the contents of the Directory Content Server)
Hello
I developed an Application Framework of Portal WebCenter using 11.1.1.6 and I saw there are many servlet defined in the web.xml file. This portal is a developed public portal without needing the user authentication / login and I'm paranoid of those unknown servlets and context path request he presentation.
I would like to remove the useless servlets as the/Admin Admin Servlet and prevent public users to access these servlets.
Can I find out which ones can be removed?
These servlets are used internally. If you do not, then you can remove the URL mapping in the Web.XML even that someone will hit the URL, nothing will happen.
But these servlets are used internally by webcenter portals. My recommendation to use webcenter Portal 11.1.1.9 and these servlets will not harm you. If you want to change url mapping in the web.xml file

Hello
Did you add the name of your operating system (Windows Server 2012) in the javashell.py file?
After you add the name of your os you must re-create the jython file - modules.jar.
Use after command to generate the jar again
jar - cvf jython - module.jar Lib META_INF (records created after extraction of the jar file)
I have also been facing same problem, solved by above to get around.

Hello
Can someone let me know if there is any solution SSO already existing (as OID/OAM?) to integrate WebCenter portal and WebCenter Sites.
All links to literature references will be greatly useful.

Hello.
Integration of Oracle Access Manager with Oracle WebCenter Sites - 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.8.0)
It explains how to set up Sites to use OAM classes to set the same Cookies------authentication process.
It should be enough to have Sites and the portal under the same SSO solution.
Kind regards.

WebCenter portal and SOA in the same domain
Hello.
I need integration SOA suite with webcenter portal to manage the process of AutoSave to user, as mentioned in the Management members and assign roles in a portal - 11 g Release 1 (11.1.1.8.0)
Under getting started with the Oracle WebCenter - 11 g Release 1 (11.1.1.8.0) Portal components , we see that
For connections WebCenter Portal is automatically configured, the following general conditions:
- WebCenter Portal and the target component must be installed in the same domain.
My Webcenter Portal version is 11.1.1.8 and latest version of the suite SOA 11.1.1.7. He'll be fine to install SOA in the same domain as the portal?
Yes.
He will be fine and simplify the configuration to be done (such as safety to trust between domains).
11.1.1.8 WebCenter travels ADF 11.1.1.7 and this is the reason for the use of JDeveloper 11.1.1.7. You shouldn't have problems with the version.
Of course, check if you have enough resources to expand the field of SOA.
Kind regards.

WebCenter portal and the content on the same domain
Hello.
A simple question. Is this really install Webcenter portal on the same field with Webcenter content? I have a domain with Webcenter content and now want to extend it with Webcenter product portal - space, Discussion etc.. Will I have problems making this operation?
Portal and content are 11.1.1.8
Thank you.
"Content and refinery incoming server must be installed in the same domain. Oracle recommends that you install Content Server and refinery in the same domain as Oracle WebCenter Portal. When they are installed in the same domain, no additional configuration is necessary to use an external LDAP authentication provider. »

Operation WebCenter portal and Sites
For my project, we use WebCenter to develop and the demand of a customer. I just have a few questions about how they all work together.
What research I did, Sites and the portal are pretty much the same thing. Portal just gives you more control and site is easy to use for non-technical users. Also, it is nice caching capabilities within the Sites. So why would I join together?
Now how to fit together? I know it's possible because I read [this Blog | https://blogs.oracle.com/ATEAM_WEBCENTER/entry/integrating_webcenter_sites_with_webcenter]. I don't think that gives me enough meat. Are there tutorials on integrate them together or more technical documentation I can read?
So I guess my biggest overall question is why would I want to use the two together, when I feel can Portal do everything can do Sites (and probably more) without the support of the non-technical user.
Thanks in advance,
DustinDustin, with my experience, I'll say webcenter sites's best costumes for the corporate sites (with a user experience rich and easy to contribute data to the site), but it is not best for the development of enterprise features,
WebCenter Portal can be best used to develop all kinds of related business portals functionality, but I see that the customers want to slowly have WebCenter Portal Sites. -

Step 16) reboot the WebUI ADF server managed.
Step 17 access the WebUI
Step 18) complete the Configuration of the workflow
Step 19) apply the latest Patch Bundle content UI of WebCenter
MY DOUBT IS:
To read the steps that I understood, to 19, with success, in the end, I will have an another WebLogic with a domain name and its respective EM.
I have two servers weblogic?
portal_domain (explained above) and a new wccui_domain wls and domain.
This fix it?
Two WLS to keep WebCenter portal and content, and other elements.
Because I'm not able to do with the WLS even where I UCM_server1 today?
Thanks for all suggestions and criticism.

Yes, up to 11.1.1.9.0, you will need to install a new wls House (new wls server admin) and then configure WCC ui there. User interface and COE will not work in the same field. You can have the portal and content under the same House of wls and install a new one for the user interface.
This is due to a problem with ADF and WCC libraries.
With 12 c, this dependence is not there, and you can install / configure all 3 (Portal, content and adf ui) applications on the same domain.

Add images customized to exculpatory WebCenter Portal 11.1.1.8
Hi all,
I'm developing a custom page template and appearance customized for WebCenter Portal 11.1.1.8 using jDeveloper. IM following the steps of the official guide to development of components for WebCenter portal using JDeveloper - 11 g Release 1 (11.1.1.8.0). I use jDeveloper 11.1.1.7 with the Extension of the WebCenter for JDeveloper (11.1.1.8.0) Portal.
"According to the guide, I added all my images customized to the oracle/webcenter/siteresources/scopedMD/shared of the shared folder, and then I added a picture to my jspx model using the path Guide: af:image source="/oracle/webcenter/siteresources/scopedMD/shared/myimage.png "id ="pt_i2"/ >
To download the page template, I did a right click on the assets of Template.jspx, and I chose resources portal update to the server. The download process finished successfully and model results updated, but my custom images has not been posted. It seems that jDev build the right ear for download, but no single image is uploaded to the WCS (or PCO in 11.1.1.8 conditions). Same thing happens to create a custom look.
Hope someone could help me. Thank you
Simone
Hi Simond.
Since 11.1.1.8 equipped version your static files / folder is not recommended. Oracle documentation:
"\shared .
Directory inherited in MDS for images and content used by assets, such as icons, images and so on.
Oracle recommends that you move all these artifacts to your content server and you use a folder structure on your server content specifically for active artifacts so that content is easy to identify and move, if necessary.
If you choose not to move objects stored in the MDS, your administrator can use the MDS WLST commands
exportMetadata
/importMetadata
to migrate the content to and from MDS. »As you can see, using JDeveloper 11.1.1.7 with 11.1.1.8 extensions no longer allow to include content / shared when you export a resource (checkbox "Include content directories"). If you need the images/icons in SDM you should import manually.
Discussions on the images in spaces (older versions):
Images of the WebCenter Portal spaces directory
Kind regards.

OID contains all users belonging to a group and can be viewed correctly using DOHAD.
Users cannot connect to the portal WebCenter or any other application of the field gets initialized because JPS store does not.
However, the JPS store gets initialized for the administration server, users and group membership can be toured from the areas of security-> users and groups to the weblogic console window.
A few days ago the users connected to the webcenter content was not asigned no role.
WebCenter star in the field of content very well, Admin Server and store of JPS is initialized correctly, users and members of the group can be seen in areas of security-> users and groups to the weblogic console window.
This error started to appear a few days before, before that, everything was normal, and users could connect to the webcenter portal group for membership and get the OID and the privileges of JPS LDAP store.
Servers werer started first, using Nodemanager script to start the server administration, and after that the administrator of the booted server, console weblogic was used to start managed servers.
Is there a way to debug the JPS Store initialization?
Hello Amey
The indicator for OAM ID Asserter is required for single sign on functionality, whatever it is, the problem, seems to be communication with the DNS server, which makes a delay that could be verified using traceroute and ping commands.
This delay caused the connection failure to the OID server during initialization of JPS.
As a solution, thefully qualified hostname to OID server has been configured manually to the file/etc/hosts. After this change, JPS can be initialized correctly.
Howerver, that the log shows no time-out or any other exception during the initialziation, making diagnosis difficult to obtain.
Thanks for your help.

Published by: dvmorris on May 12, 2012 12:41You try to connect using the web port.
A socket connection uses RIDC, which means you need to use the port of intradoc which 4444 in your case.
So to change the port number in your connection to 4444 and it should work. -
using images in portal webcenter without host content Builder.
Hello.
Using the portal generator 11.1.1.8.0
Kindly provide me with a few items to use static images in the webcenter portal generator with using content.
Thank you
I will telll you simpler way. Create an empty project. Put all the images and css in each folder such as/images and /css. Then deploy this project as a shared library. Take the reference of shared library in the portal webcenter extension project. It's it.you are made.
In the model, you can see your image as /images/imagename.jpg
