WebCenter Universal Content Management vs. content WebCenter

OK, so I'm really confused... I know that this question is asked a lot, but the responses I see don't make sense. In this Oracle document lists the UCM and WebCenter content as two different applications with different characteristics (although if you look closely, you will notice that they are all the same features, just worded differently). But in this article, she states that WebCenter content was previously Manager of content business, and in this one, he says that WebCenter content used to be named Complutense University of MADRID.

How does have any meaning?

In fact, it is not quite correct.

First, we must distinguish between product and SKU.

Universal Content Management, University Complutense of MADRID, was a SKU that existed also in 11g (and has been restored as a content WebCenter: Universal Content Management). It contains the central module (called at the time of the Stellent content server), as well as the majority of the optional modules (documents, management of the WebContent AKA Site Studio, Digital Asset Management, just to name a few). But license contained UCM also restricted licenses to other products such as Secure Enterprise Search, BPEL Process Manager and Weblogic Server (not required in 10 g).

In addition, rates until December 2011 contained two another 'product' SKU, namely Universal Records Management, URM, imaging and process management, I / PM (now called WebCenter Imaging) and a "suite" product, Enterprise Content Management Suite, which contained all of the UCM, URM, I / PM and now no longer existing IRM (Information Rights Management to secure workstations documents at the level of the customer).

Originally, WebCenter content was nothing other than the rest of the ECM. Later, we MRI has been deleted, and even later, we the WebCenter content added restricted permit unified BPM Suite rather than simply BPEL PM. At the end of 2012 AAU SKU has been reinstated as already mentioned.

In this perspective: the main difference between the AAU and WebCenter content is:

-Happy contains also imaging and Record Management (RM is currently only available in this Reference)

-Happy contains human BPM Suite rather that BPEL PM - BPM Suite is more suited to the workflow

The GET_FOLDER_HISTORY_REPORT service seems to be set in the folders_g service component.

This looks like an older version of folders_g. After the download and installation of the CS10gR35UpdateBundle component (also called component bundle content server update (Version: 10.1.3.5.0 (20090707-11)), you have to unpack and install the folders_g file that is located at CS10gR35UpdateBundle-20090707-11\component\CS10gR35UpdateBundle\extras\Folders_g.zip)

After correct installation, I think that the version of the component should say:
    2009_07_01 (build 49) ($Rev: $75409)

How to install and configure the UI content with WebCenter content 11.1.1.8.0 and 11.1.1.9.0 (Doc ID 1618305.1).

Install and configure content WebCenter ADF WebUI against WebCenter Content Server

Step 1) install the MDS schema

(Step 2), install the Weblogic Server

11 GR 1 material step 3) DOWNLOAD and install Oracle Application Development Framework (11.1.1.6.0) in the new WebUI WLS Middleware House, found here

Step 14) start the server managed WebUI.

Step 15) associate UI WebCenter content to Content Server.

Step 16) reboot the WebUI ADF server managed.

    Step 17 access the WebUI

Step 18) complete the Configuration of the workflow

Step 19) apply the latest Patch Bundle content UI of WebCenter

    MY DOUBT IS:

To read the steps that I understood, to 19, with success, in the end, I will have an another WebLogic with a domain name and its respective EM.

    I have two servers weblogic?

portal_domain (explained above) and a new wccui_domain wls and domain.

    This fix it?

Two WLS to keep WebCenter portal and content, and other elements.

Because I'm not able to do with the WLS even where I UCM_server1 today?

Thanks for all suggestions and criticism.

Yes, up to 11.1.1.9.0, you will need to install a new wls House (new wls server admin) and then configure WCC ui there. User interface and COE will not work in the same field. You can have the portal and content under the same House of wls and install a new one for the user interface.

This is due to a problem with ADF and WCC libraries.

With 12 c, this dependence is not there, and you can install / configure all 3 (Portal, content and adf ui) applications on the same domain.

  • ALTER Session timeout in Webcenter content system

    Hello

The default Session in the Webcenter content system takes an hour. Must I increase to 10 hours. I tried to change it to 10 hours, but the session timeout system is always only one hour.

Do we need to apply a patch or custom component is required, to increase the Session timeout?

Here are the steps I took to change the value of timeout of session in 10 hours.

    Test 1:
Login in Console Weblogic-> deployments-> Expand "Oracle Universal Content Management - Content Server"-> and click on ' / '-> click Settings - > then changed value of timeout of Session in 10 hours.

    Test 2:

Connect you in Weblogic Console-> deployments-> click "Oracle Universal Content Management - Content Server"-> click Settings - > then changed value of timeout of Session in 10 hours.

    Both did not work

Can you please how to proceed now.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

You've restarted the WLS server admin and server managed UCM after making the changes? Make sure you start wls first, then the University Complutense of Madrid.

    Thank you

  • Oracle WebCenter content ensures detection of sensitive documents?

Was trying to read the volumes of documents in Oracle Universal Content Management - Oracle Application Server Documentation to understand how WebCenter content.

    (1) If this tool provides detection sensitive documents and data masking for sensitive unstructured documents in the same environment where the WebCenter content is installed. I ask like Symantec DLP offer feature (reference: http://eval.symantec.com/mktginfo/enterprise/white_papers/b-dlp_machine_learning.WP_en-us.pdf)

    (2) I read through white papers and found that:

Original / native files are stored in a specified directory 'Vault'.

Displayable Web files are stored in a specified directory 'weblayout.

one) so in the environment installed, which is the full path of the directory Vault ? (i.e. /home / < User1 > / disastroust)

    (b) also for each user by using the content server, they have their shared documents stored in the same directory of vault or sa is distinct for each user viz /home / < User1 > / vault, /home / < User1 > / vault?

    Thanks for your suggestion!

In theory, you could achieve this, but not with WCC single.

WCC provides the classification of an article (e.g. Security or security group classified in records management).

The next step would expose FileStoreProvider to consider the establishment of security in the actual physical storage (it's the piece on the vault, Weblayout, etc.). Visit this link FileStore provider with URM tutorial for more details.

Finally, you need a repository capable of masking. Database and file systems have these abilities, but they are usually transparent to the upper layers - i.e. a document hidden in the data base is of encrypted when an authorized user with the read permission to the WCC asks for it.

You; d consider if default security model is suitable for your needs - for example if you want to search for a document, but turn off the display of the content, it might be impossible. Oracle had a product called Information Rights Management, which could also encrypt documents.

I received the extent Chapter 6. I was able to create the repository connection according to the following:

    RIDC Type of Socket: socket
    The server host name: localhost
    Content Server listening Port: 4444

    current Jdev session IDs:

    user name: wc_admin PW: *.

The connection created successfully, but when trying to open the folder of the University Complutense of MADRID on the Application's resources, J Dev up a 'serious error Exception' and stops / crashes. The error of the stack as follows:

I also looked at the file of diagnosis of the server of the University Complutense of MADRID, and there is only one entry for this error which is:

    [2011 12-30 T 04: 57:59.749 - 08:00] [UCM_server1] [ERROR] [CMU-CS-000001] [oracle.ucm.idccs] [tid: [ASSETS].] [ExecuteThread: '2' for the queue: "(self-adjusting) weblogic.kernel.Default"] [ecid: 0000JIF35v57q225zrt1iW1EzB1B000080, 0] [APP: Oracle Universal Content Management - Content Server] general exception

Any ideas as to why this might be happening are highly appreciated. One possibility is that after successful installation and configuration, the AAU console displays the following alert:

    Draw the attention of

•The weblayout directory is located on a file system with 8point3 semantic. Legacy filenames 16 bits 8point3 into conflict with revision labels and cause the loss of files. Disables the semantics of 8point3 by running "Installer DisableNtfs8dot3" and then restarting Windows

Could it be the Dev J cause crashing?

    Thanks, J

    Hello

You have the component Folders_g enabled on the server of the University Complutense of MADRID? I guess that this is not the following error message:

    No service defined for COLLECTION_DISPLAY

Access the administration server and then check the Radio for Folders_g and Submit button. Restart the server of the University Complutense of MADRID and once it is running, and then test to see if the problem still persists.

  • Where is editor WebCenter WebCenter Interaction 10.3?

    Hello

I'm new to ALUI/Web Center of Interaction and wonder were on the feature called WebCenter Editor (formerly BEA AquaLogic Interaction Publisher) referenced on page 37 of this white paper "Oracle WebCenter Suite 10 gR 3 technical white paper:

    http://www.Oracle.com/technology/products/WebCenter/PDF/owcs_10132_tech_wp.PDF

However, the documentation does not mention this feature:

    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E13158_01/AluI/index.html

    Am I missing something important?

    Thank you very much

    Javier CASTAÑÓN

There is no 10gR 3 editor. The latest version of the editor is 6.5, which is compatible with WebCenter Interaction 10 gR 3. Further, Publisher will be replaced by Universal Content Management. For more information on the future of the Publisher, see the statement of management (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/webcenter/interaction/pdf/wci_10gr3_sod.pdf).

  • Content Server - Session Timeout

    Hi all

I wonder how I can limit the time of the logon session. In other words: I would like at the end of the session to connect to the content server when the user is inactive during the last 5 minutes. How can I do? Is there any variable I can set in the config.cfg?

    Thanks in advance,
    João Cavaleiro.

Yes I got one solution, can u try this and let me know?
If you use UCM 11 g with Weblogic,
go to the server managed UCM > go to the deployments tab > go for Oracle Universal Content Management - Content Server > open sub modules > select "/" > Confuguration tab > now change the Session Timeout value.

Hope this will solve your request

  • Add-on which says it's for CS6 - CC installs on DW CS5.5 using Extension Manager CS5.5

Will be an add-on that says it's for install CS6 - CC on DW CS5.5 using Extension Manager CS5.5? I bought Advanced CSS Menu and that you are unable to install. The extensions Manager, says "the extension package is not valid. The extension will not be installed. »

«Dreamweaver CS6 and earlier ' column on the web site Ajatix is the .mxp version.» Extension Manager CS6 supports the .mxp files as .zxp and can convert .mxp to .zxp.

"Dreamweaver CS6 and earlier"version is compatible with the Extension of MX at CS6 managers. This includes CS5.5

I still understand why Adobe created such a mess with the extension managers and all incompatibilities between versions and formats. Creation of a universal extension manager should not such a problem.

  • Difference b/w University Complutense of MADRID and webcenter Content Server

    Hello

I'm using the Web Center portal and you want to use UCM and not the file system. So I can configure and connect to AAU without installing WebCenter Content server. Please let me know the difference between the AAU and WebCenetr content server.
Is it all separately integrated with WebCenter portal content management server or in any case, we will have to use WebCenetr Content Server only?

  • Use a WebCenter content to manage static content

    Hello

I use Web https://blogs.oracle.com/kyle/entry/web_url_mapped_folders_exposed mapped folders for my content server WebCenter host css, javascript and images of my site.

Is there a performance impact or I should be packing these resources in my Application of Framework of Portal 11.1.1.6 WebCenter

    Hello

Do you use these css, javascript or other files in the application of the portal webcenter framework or it's just related to the document viewer or presenter content?

If you use for application framework where there is no frequent changes in this file, you can bundle it with application framework. If there are frequent changes in these files to better maintain in the content repository where you can create the revision of this file without changing its URL.

Also, you can think to put in the web server.

    Thank you

  • How to assign the value "ID or content dDocName" (property of the University Complutense of MADRID) Webcenter capture.

    Hello

Could you please help me for the script for extracting Webcenter UCMS property in Webcenter Capture. I also have a requirement where I need to assign a value to the UCM property ' dDocName or content ID "of the capture of webcenter.

Someone please help me with above scenarios.

    Hello

Thanks for the reply. My requirement is, when check-in file to the AAU, it generates values to the property "docId" for the file that is unique. I need the value of the docId during validation webcenter capture processor. I solved this problem.

I created a filter in the AAU for archiving profile. This filter is triggered whenever the Service factor of the AAU invoke. In this filter, I can get the value of "docID".

    Thank you.
