Use a WebCenter content to manage static content

Hello

I use Web https://blogs.oracle.com/kyle/entry/web_url_mapped_folders_exposed mapped folders for my content server WebCenter host css, javascript and images of my site.

Is there a performance impact or I should be packing these resources in my Application of Framework of Portal 11.1.1.6 WebCenter

Hello

Do you use these css, javascript or other files in the application of the portal webcenter framework or it's just related to the document viewer or presenter content?

If you use for application framework where there is no frequent changes in this file, you can bundle it with application framework. If there are frequent changes in these files to better maintain in the content repository where you can create the revision of this file without changing its URL.

Also, you can think to put in the web server.

Thank you

Amey

I solved my problem. Just change the file format of ImageThumbnail to the design of digital media. It's in my tie.

But I want to configure failover for the BOVINE infectious rhinotraecheitis servers managed

    I read the note 1209496.1.

I tested 2 ibr managed server may not run on a machine.

Following this remark ibr cannot cluter-active but may switch.

UCM_server can configure the cluster. After that UCM_server can configure provider with IBR 2 managed servers in 2 machines.

If IBR first managed down, UCM server can connect to the second server managed IBR to work.

  • File based with webcenter content repository

We want to implement a content management solution using webcenter. We are very well for our content in the file system, as we do not want to buy a separate license for the AAU.
(My assumption is that we have to separate license for Complutense University of MADRID. (Right?)

When I drag and drop a file (html, word-doc) etc I see no connection to jspx site content repository, presenter content option. I think its because I am using the file according to the content repository. How should view us the repository then jspx on page file-based content.

What are the other limitations with file based repository of content?

    Thank you
    Sanjeev

In fact, when you purchase a license for WebCenter portal, you use limited to Webcenter content as well. This means that you can use the WebCenter content to store your content as long as access you it via the portal WebCenter. If you don't need to purchase additional licenses, and you can use WebCente content as your repository!
This way you can make good use of the presenter content.

    Hello

    ! csProviderUnableToInitialize, SystemDatabase

To solve it, the steps are:

    1. go to /ucm/cs/bin/SystemProperties applet

    2. go to the tab database, and then select the Oracle Thin driver

3 leave the classpath field empty

    4. to connect to the db, provide the db details name of host name, port and service

    5. set the UCM schema user id and password and update

    6.

These sql queries are running 2 on the diagram of the UCM DB:

    update users set dpasswordencoding = "where dname as 'sysadmin ';

    update users set dpassword = "idc" where dname like 'sysadmin ';

    7. then run BatchLoader and check that it works very well.

    Thank you

  • In which folder files will be loaded into WebCenter content by utility batch charger

    Hello

To perform operations such as insert, update, delete file, etc. in bulk, we use batch WebCenter content loader utility.

However, what is the parameter to specify in which folder in filing documents get downloaded or deleted etc.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

If you use the Contribution files then the xCollectionID parameter.

If you use framework folders, then it would be fFolderGUID.

    Thank you

  • Can I use IBM HTTP Server as Proxy for WebCenter content?

When I worked in development, I used Apache 2.2 as a Proxy for WebCenter content.

I would use the WebLogic Server plugin 'mod_wl_22.so' in Apache to redirect the request of WebLogic.

In Production, I need to use IBM HTTP Server (IHS) as a proxy.

I couldn't find any plugin WLS for IBM HTTP Server.

When I looked at the note of support Doc-ID 1111903.1 , it does not included of IHS in the list.

This means that IHS is not supported as a proxy for WebCener content?

If not, can someone tell me where I could download the plugin, please?

I tried to use the same configurations for Apache 2.2 to the IHS.

Startup is fine, which means that IHS could load the module 'mod_wl_22.so '.

But I got error 403 for the connection.

I couldn't see any access connected the WLS, so I guess that the connection failed introduce to the IHS.

    Any suggestion, please?

If you want to use for the work of pure http proxy that I don't see why it wouldn't work. However, I didn't a study on this specific topic. However, you may need to do more things manually in the configuration box, and it cannot be officially supported. The unsupported part is often a point where I suggest you use another product that is supported.

    Kind regards

    Johan.

  • How to integrate WebCenter content using WebServices

    Hi all

I have only been exposed to the WebCenter content for a little while and want to integrate with it using WebServives - what I understand is that if you use services Web (WSDL) there is a configuration that needs to happen on the side Toilet content and especially around security. Right now I'm testing just the services our SOAP_UI - Ive used this link http://hostname:16200/cs/idcplg? wsdl

I tried watching a WSDl in a browser, but nothing appears... Can someone Guide and help me on this?

    Thank you

Hi thanks! I succeeded with that - basically ended use RIDC and created her Web services. I also got the normal work of webservices.

  • How can I migrate content from file system to webcenter content using inbound refinery?

    Hello

How can I move content 'Webcenter content' using Refinery Inboundfile system? There is a lot of content in my system, I want to go to "Content Server" using inbound refinery.

How can I reach it? Is it possible to do this? If this is not possible using inbound refinery, so how can I do this?

    I use 11.1.1.6 version.

    Help, please.

    Concerning

    REDA

    Hi reda,.

First - incoming refinery isn't real resources whose content is ingested in the content server. 'S done it by Webcenter Content server that holds / process of all content items.

IBR is only used for the conversion of 1 format to PDF documents (and some others).

So, in your case, you must first set up a content server and then install Desktop Integration Suite customer on your physical machine. In this place, you can drag-and - drop all the content of the file system to the content server.

Links to this documentation are available from the following links:

    Content of the WC: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E28280_01/doc.1111/e26692/toc.htm

    Desktop Integration Suite: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E28280_01/doc.1111/e10624/toc.htm

Please go through the documentation first to get those basic concepts allowed.

    Thank you

  • WebCenter content Site Studio contributor

    Hello

I use Site Studio contributor, and I would like to know if I am able to save the changes to the employee as a draft data files?

WebCenter content has no concept as project.

However, you can implement version control that would manage revisions accordingly - for example, keep the revision number for a 'draft', increase to a "sail", etc.. See https://blogs.oracle.com/kyle/entry/maintaining_revision_levels for more details

This issue is forthcoming because some of the areas that need to be implemented using the DBSearchContainsOperator component are not listed.

Search for invalid objects in the database (in particular) to the fields of the area. Or you can turn off the field in the area for the time being from the server and then restart it. Once it is up and running, and then activate the fields of the area of the user interface.

  • WebCenter Content Server

    Hello

I would like to know if it is possible allowing end users to create the user account, reset the password of the other user account or change their own password. Currently, we use the Oracle WebCenter content 11.1.1.8 and authenticated using WebLogic security. All the user accounts and password are managed through the WebLogic Console, including changing the password.

It's one of the scenarios of basis for Oracle Identity Management (soon available also in the clouds).

You don't mention where the user identities are stored in your solution - integrated LDAP is not designed for production, so it should be a separate tool. In this perspective, it is more obvious that user account management is performed at the level of the field of Weblogic, rather than by the application (for example content WebCenter).

If you don't want to go with the IOM, you can go with a custom application. Also, make sure that your offer OOTB LDAP - there is usually some sort of console, although not necessarily allowing self-service.

  • Oracle WebCenter content configuration

    Hi all

I have install and configure Oracle WebCenter content 11g for development purposes, as part of it have installed the Oracle WebCenter content and also created managed servers required. Now I'm setting up Oracle WebCenter Content and I don't know if I can skip these steps and go further.

    https://docs.Oracle.com/middleware/11119/WCC/install/config.htm#INECM201

    Thank you

    Moore

Probably yes, but it really depends on what goals, your system must be used to.

Just in case it is not obvious, I'll write a short comment to each of your points:

Greater security - SSL - 3.8, the prevention of the man-in-the-middle sniff for content

3.9 - external LDAP - for development, you can go with WebLogic server embedded LDAP, but it can also be convenient to use an external; especially if you take identities that are already defined in your organization

3.10 - associated 3.9 (you need to set your users at least in one place, or all your developers will have to use the "weblogic" account)

3.11 - SSO - for a stand-alone system possibly unnecessary, but should improve you in several systems (e.g. WebCenter portal content, or content WebCenter WebCenter + BPEL/BPM) it could could be convenient set SSO

3.12 - WebTier - only if you want to use the features of some WebTier (e.g. Caching), or need to install the web server on a different HW as the server application (in general, behind the firewall)

3.13 - incubators - only if you need it (perhaps not necessary for the dev TEAM, but some systems TEST should have if you too in PROD)

3.14 - WS security - needed if the system will be accessible to other clients via WS, particularly if these clients are located behind a firewall

  • Oracle WebCenter content ensures detection of sensitive documents?

Was trying to read the volumes of documents in Oracle Universal Content Management - Oracle Application Server Documentation to understand how WebCenter content.

    (1) If this tool provides detection sensitive documents and data masking for sensitive unstructured documents in the same environment where the WebCenter content is installed. I ask like Symantec DLP offer feature (reference: http://eval.symantec.com/mktginfo/enterprise/white_papers/b-dlp_machine_learning.WP_en-us.pdf)

    (2) I read through white papers and found that:

Original / native files are stored in a specified directory 'Vault'.

Displayable Web files are stored in a specified directory 'weblayout.

one) so in the environment installed, which is the full path of the directory Vault ? (i.e. /home / < User1 > / disastroust)

    (b) also for each user by using the content server, they have their shared documents stored in the same directory of vault or sa is distinct for each user viz /home / < User1 > / vault, /home / < User1 > / vault?

    Thanks for your suggestion!

In theory, you could achieve this, but not with WCC single.

WCC provides the classification of an article (e.g. Security or security group classified in records management).

The next step would expose FileStoreProvider to consider the establishment of security in the actual physical storage (it's the piece on the vault, Weblayout, etc.). Visit this link FileStore provider with URM tutorial for more details.

Finally, you need a repository capable of masking. Database and file systems have these abilities, but they are usually transparent to the upper layers - i.e. a document hidden in the data base is of encrypted when an authorized user with the read permission to the WCC asks for it.

You; d consider if default security model is suitable for your needs - for example if you want to search for a document, but turn off the display of the content, it might be impossible. Oracle had a product called Information Rights Management, which could also encrypt documents.

  • Get the value based on the column names for the custom of the Webcenter content metadata field

University Complutense of MADRID, I created a custom text metadata field.  I then activated optlist this area.  I fill the optList values, I use a view.  The view has three columns.  Let us call their ID, Key, Value.  OptList shows keys in its list.  I then create content (Content ID: MyContent) Webcenter content and choose the OptList values for my new field of metadata (MyField).

WebCenter portal, I'm filling a selectOneChoice with MyField values in the content ID: MyContent.  Remember the previous step, the values entered in selectOneChoice lists them selected values from the field MyField optList.  The optList is filled from view.  After the user selects a value in selectOneChoice, in Javascript, I need to alert a message in this format "selected value - matching value from the view of the optList that fills MyField.

In my opinion, only an example will be useful:

This is a view that I created in Configuration Manager applet in Webcenter content Admin cmdlets :

    ID | State | Capital

    1. North Carolina | Raleigh

    2. California | Sacramento

    3. Illinois | Chicago

Then I create a custom field (name: MyField).  MyField is an optList values are filled with view created above.  Internal value and the display value are the two State.  Then I have a new content with Content Id Check-In: MyContent.  To MyContent, I select these values in OptList MyField: {North Carolina, Illinois}.

In my portal Webcenter application, I create a Taskflow presenter content.  I have set up as single content item presenter.  I attribute as content ID MyContent.  Then, in templateView, I get all the values of MyField in MyContent and display as selectOneChoice.  I created a javascript function that would get the value that the user selected in selectOneChoice.  In the view created in the Webcenter content Configuration Manager (see above), there is a value corresponding to each displayed value.  So, for the selected value, I need to get the corresponding Capital and display in my alert message.

Starting from Javascript, how can I get the value of the Capital, since I have the status value.

    Hello.

The idea to reach your requirement is planned:

    • Create an Assistant manage bean that will appeal as access map: #{stateUtil ['Calofironia']} (it will return Raleigh). This value will get calling GET_SCHEMA_VIEW_VALUES IDC service using RIDC in your managed bean.
    • Pass the result of #{stateUtil ["statename"]} to your JavaScript function to help

I hope this information help you.

    Kind regards

  • Difference b/w University Complutense of MADRID and webcenter Content Server

    Hello

I'm using the Web Center portal and you want to use UCM and not the file system. So I can configure and connect to AAU without installing WebCenter Content server. Please let me know the difference between the AAU and WebCenetr content server.
Is it all separately integrated with WebCenter portal content management server or in any case, we will have to use WebCenetr Content Server only?

    Concerning
    -Arvind

    Hello.

WebCenter content and AAU are the same product (only has been renamed).
    Stellent-> UCM-> content WebCenter

    Kind regards.
