WebMethods followed with Foglight

Has anyone tried monitoring WebMethods using Foglight? I have the cartridge J2EE deployed and FxM setup on one side of the WebServices and are capable of producing statistics, but WebMethod is the Web service consumer and I wonder what I have to do in order to control that?

I think to deploy J2EE cartridge and also cover the traffic on the probe of FxM WebMethod?

Anything else that I'm missing here?

Thank you

AJ Aslam

Hi AJ,.

Your approach to the use of FxM to monitor web services and the perspective of the user to WebMethods and agent traffic Foglight Java to monitor the JVM WebMethods is good. You can also use the LogFilter agent to monitor the log files of WebMethods, recorder Tranaction Foglight to monitor the application of synthetically and AppMonitor to monitor the process of WebMethods from the point of view of the BONE.

You can add the following snippet to the startup script WebMethods to integrate with the configuration of X-Agent Java cartridge (assuming Unix):

WebMethods.sh

# Integration of quest Foglight Java agent

JAVA_HOME = ${JAVA_DIR}

QUEST_DEPLOYMENT_DIRECTORY = / opt/Quest_Software/Foglight_Agent_Manager/agents/JavaEE

If [f ' $QUEST_DEPLOYMENT_DIRECTORY/integrate.sh '] then

QUEST_JAVA_ENV_OPTS = X-AGENT:. : JAVA_RUN

PERFORMASURE_OPTIONS = "-Dquest.agent.appserverinfo = WMintegration_$ {HOST}": Generic:3.1.2:Integration ""

. "$QUEST_DEPLOYMENT_DIRECTORY/integrate.sh".

on the other

echo agent Java EE not activated

FI

This block should ba added just before the line that starts the WebMethods server:

#... to perform integration server

${JAVA_RUN} {JAVA_D64} - DWM_HOME = ${WM_HOME} - classpath ${CLASSPATH} ${IS_PROXY_MAIN} ${IS_DIR}/bin/ini.cnf,

The other thing you need to do is exclude the instrumentation WebMethods infrastructure classes by adding configuration exclude attached to the JAVA_AGENT_HOME/config/agent-override/instrumentation.config. Note that this configuration has not been thoroughly tested, but should provide a good starting point.

    I recommend to open a business of pension as soon as possible because it may be the best way to solve this problem.

  • Link to integration with Foglight FxM and FxV scheme?

    Hello

    I was able to find the architectural diagram Foglight on this forum and also want to access a diagram that shows the general communication between the parts of the end user and how they integrated into the FMS.  Anyone know where I can get this?  I tried searching for it on the Support Portal, but also here, but have had no luck.

    Thank you

    Stephen

    Basically,.

    The integration of FxM is made by a cartridge that is deployed on a bed and FglAM the database of FxM

    The FxV integration differs FxV takes the initiative and comes directly into contact with the FMS.

    Shouldn't be too hard to get to the top.

    Hello

    It is probably part of a larger battery error (if you can download the zipped file of complete log we can see if something is visible).

    This is a new installation or and upgrade or displacement of FMS? What version do you use?

    Have you tried to stop the foglight server, make sure that the DB is down too and then restart?

    There are articles describing errors as part of a larger pile of errors.

    This article KB https://support.quest.com/SolutionDetail.aspx?id=SOL64412 talks to ip in the hosts file is not wrong

    Other articles describing similar problems:

    There is an article describing a bug that has been fixed at https://support.quest.com/SolutionDetail.aspx?id=SOL63134

    Another speaks of a problem with the Storage Manager service https://support.quest.com/SolutionDetail.aspx?id=SOL73892

    With the attached log file we can see more information, I recommend also the opening of a case of pension because they can help solve the problem in a more interactive way.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi mhurst120,
    I'm sure you can simply import the new Pro vFoglight license in and features that are part of the pro version should be unlocked but you may have to restart the Foglight management service.
    What version do you currently use? An upgrade might be available that you can then point to the new license file.

  • IBM Websphere followed in Foglight

    Hi all

    We got a new requirement for Websphere App Server monitoring. It requires an agent manager of Java EE deployment that is created after the installation of the cartridge of Java on the server.

    In websphere, we have four profiles viz: admin officer, independent, server, domain manager and federated mode... These are the things that we have in the Agent Properties.

    Please tell us about profiles and the need for them and also the beginning of the required scripts...

    Kind regards

    Guenoun

    I think that it is correct.

    My recommendation is to save your startup script (foglight backup scripts anyway, but it gives them long names and it may be easier to save them as .orig or .bak).

    The names of scripts are referenced in the documentation

    "

    Locate your specific profile startServer, startNode or StartManager script. Save a backup copy before you continue.

    "

    The windows service is specific to a case described in the documentation of use

    Hope this helps

    Note that the JMX agent is designed to collect periodic measurements of the target of MBeans for monitoring purposes.

    The JMX agent includes any capacity designed to trigger or setters on these MBeans function calls.

    The seller itself should be able to tell if they are certified against Oracle. I would do certainly official confirmation from the supplier it themselves, otherwise you might find yourself in a lot of trouble if it turns out that he is not certified and you have major problems.

  • "clickTAG" followed with AS 3.0?

    So it's pretty much the standard applied to a button (AS 2.0), who will receive the url "clickTAG" assigned by your ad on the right page:

    {We (Release)}
    getURL (clickTag, "_blank");
    }

    Which, when tested locally will open a window of browser with the address "undefined" (a good thing)

    However, I was trying to figure out how to do this in AS 3.0 (but fortunately the announcement that I do has no other code, so I returned just in 2.0 this time) and so I tried this (in a box, of course):

    var request: URLRequest = new URLRequest (clickTag);

    clickthrough.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, sender);

    function sender(event:MouseEvent):void {}
    navigateToURL (request, "_self");
    }

    But that ^ does nothing. It seems that there is something else that should be added. I am concerned in AS 3.0 you must tell him explicitly that there is a variable "clickTAG" which will be defined by the page is in, and I don't know how - or if there is just a mistake in it.

    Rusherific,

    > var request: URLRequest = new URLRequest (clickTag);

    > But that ^ does nothing.

    You nailed it, and the reason for this is that past in variables
    are more associated with the main timeline in ActinScript 3.0. In AS2,.
    Variables FlashVars or query string are collected without hand tighten
    chronology: they become simply normal string variables, as if they had been
    He said. In AS3, you must check a LoaderInfo variables
    instance associated with the main timeline.

    Here is a short article that goes into the details. It is not
    specifically associated with "clickTAG", but the important thing to realize is that
    "clickTAG" is not a distinctive feature of the Flash. There is nothing more than a
    arbitrarily named variable that is passed in via FlashVars. The key here is
    FlashVars and this article explains how to catch these variables:

    http://www.quip.net/blog/2007/Flash/how-to-retrieve-flashvars-data-in-ActionScript-30

    See if that gets started you and don't forget to write again if it remains
    is not supposed. I had intended to write a "clickTAG" article for the
    Adobe Dev Center and your question could just turn on the fire under the
    good place for me. ;)
