Weird corruption

OK, I got my wife a fuse 4 GB for Christmas.  I saw just a strange corruption.

First off I tried my way for nsync and incubus on it for her.  OK, so after realizing it's organization with tags instead of folders, I get some discographies corrected these artists on my computer.

So I delete the older copies via media player and and drag the new albums she wants.  Well now, in the middle of a song by nsync ' drive me crazy ' or something like that, Incubus continues and says "is that f'd up," I know the kind of amuzing.  The rest of incubus plays.  So who is to say what other songs are corrupted.  I'm listening now him and he jumps.

OK then let preface.  When I was copying the songs from Incubus on, they were not all appear.  Some were going in unknown album.  This is false because I went in windows Explorer's Details view and added columns artist, Album and track.  They all looked 100% correct.  If I was copying some of the titles that didn't to the list of media sync player to try to get the files on there.  Then there were duplicates.  As the CD was ok, but the other had all 16 tracks, then the first 4 tracks tracks 17 and upward.  So I thought that the problem was a media player, so I used the Sansa Fuse icon in my computer and deleted the Incubus folder out of the internal Memory\Music folder.  Then copied both albums that she wanted to go back out there.  Well now were to square.  There are still other Incubus albums on the player from the first time I copied the information, but I can't find anyware in Solution Explorer.

What should I do?  MP3 files in question are perfectly fine on the PC.

Thank you

Really frustrated...

It is possible you have a messed up the music database file as well.

Connect in MSC mode and locate the mtable.sys file in the root directory.

That's the fun part, simply delete the file and disconnect.  The "rocket" will generate a new one from scratch, hopefully without duplicates.

  • Orthographic oddity in FM 12 corrector

I just upgraded from Framemaker 10 to 12. According to the about screen, I 12.0.4.445.

Generally things seem to work as expected, except for a strange anomaly: the spell checker in Frame 12 considers that the word 'Add' - capitalized this way, not if it is lowercase or uppercase - to be misspelled. Not only that, but when I click on Learn, he responds "you cannot add add a dictionary." To add add a dictionary, first uncheck the corresponding parameter in the Spelling Checker Options dialog box. »

Of course, none of the conditions in the Spelling Checker Options apply to 'Add', but I tried activating / deactivating all of their (all by default) settings anyway to see if it makes a difference. He did not. Apart from that, the spell checker is not triggering on common terms, or otherwise behave strangely.

Has anyone encountered a quirk like this with frame 12? Should I just a dictionary with a weird corruption? Is it possible to restore the base dictionary without having to reinstall the entire application?

The Hunspell dictionaries are editable text (.dic) files and are located in the folder \fminit\Linguistics\7.0\plugins2\AdobeHunspellPlugin\Dictionaries to your installation of FM. Make a backup and check the English version you are using with a text editor.

You can also copy the relevant dictionary from another file (work) / installation of the system.

Note: The format of dictionary entry shows the word followed by an optional affix rule (these are letters that sensitive that are defined in the .aff file). Google "hunspell dictionary format" for more details. The .aff file may need to be checked.

  • condition tag applied to insert to insert text not hiding all the Insert

    Hi all

    I am running FM12.0.2.389 on Win7-SP1 (64-bit) laptop with i7 & 16 GB of RAM.

As Arnis had mentioned on a post on the use of tags condition with tables, applying the condition for the character of point tag insertion conceals the entire table when you hide that tag. It's the way I always saw tags condition applied to the insert text, too much work. However, this is not what I see now, but I don't know if what I'm seeing is "as expected" typical behavior, or a new change since FM9 (jumped FM9 FM12), or if there is a problem with my installation of FM. "."

Here's the scenario: I have FM files that serve as overlays of text in multiple documents ("insert FMs" for clarity). The entire library of files FM has deployed several condition tags and variable to accommodate more boundaries between nearly identical products, U.S. / International English and more short documents output the same set of source files. For the sake of discussion, I'll use an example which includes 4 labels of condition:

    • 3D (specific products)
    • LI (specific products)
    • Kit (specific output)
    • Installation (specific output)

Insert FM has 3D and LI tags as appropriate. Container FM has 4 of all labels in the game. The tag is the FM Kit insert insert text for the Insert marker. When I'm running Kit, I can show 3D or LI and achieve the expected results. However, when I hide Kit, text inside of the FM which is tagged with insert regardless of the specific tag always present, even if the rest of the FM in medallion is hidden. I am pleased to provide you with a ZIP of the files needed to use as a sample.

I don't remember ever having this problem in FM7 or FM8 FM9. (I was a user of FM since the FM5.5 and the use of tags condition since FM6.) Is this normal? Is this a change designed as? Or am I facing a sort of weird corruption of my particular FM installation?

    Thank you

    René

    Hi René,.

A text overlay behaves in a similar way to a table. It is anchored at the insertion point, and you apply the condition to the anchor to condition it. When you apply the condition to the Insert, all content conditionally marked in the box becomes a combined condition, i.e. the Insert with 3D and conditions of LI now has Kit, Kit & 3D and conditions of Kit & LI.

Therefore, you have to build the Boolean expression to show or hide so combined cases. In order to hide the KIT and 3D interior and conditions LI of the Insert, the Boolean expression would be:

not ("Kit" or (("Kit" et "3D") or ('Kit' and 'LI')))

Simply hide only Kit will not hide a combined condition (e.g. Kit & 3D).

My bb8520 usually works on Digicel [a supplier of the Caribbean]. I used my bb on the AT & T service while he was studying in the United States for about two months with no problems, then recently, the bb has stopped working on this network. He took over the AT & T service and I can make and receive calls and messaging, but bbm, browser mode text and such will not work! It is not a billing issue. I asked several people, and we noticed that my line number changed abruptly of strange symbols. In addition, wifi will not work on the phone. I really need my phone back! Help!

What exactly is the problem with wifi?

  • Corruption of weird code

I worked on a SCORM compatible Flash animation for a while now, and it is almost complete. My problem is that, after clicking on a button that makes the calls to the SCORM API, several lines of ACE no longer work. I found that if the button is pressed and the mouse does not move at all, then everything works fine. However, if the button is pressed, and all mouse enter (moving, clique or wheel movement, no doubt) is sent to the film, then the problem happens.

I suspect that the Player (version 9) do not take input while you wait for a function return a value. SCORM function calls take a while to finish, as the data is sent on the network and back, so who would provide the necessary window. Has anyone had a similar experience, or found a workaround?

    SOLVED

There seems to be a bug in Flash Player 9. When I uninstalled 9 and installed 8r22 in its place, everything works great. Needless to say, I'll wear a crazy smile for the rest of the week now.

  • 10.9 corruption of finder issue

    Hello

I have something corrupted in my Finder settings. It is better understood by watching this video:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/ed86hrttjt0xzey/Finder%20behaviour%20smaller.m4v?DL=0

A new window appears without any content, then move this window made all kinds of weird stuff in the window instead of files. All other applications are fine, save/open boxes are fine.

I have: has crushed the finder, removed preferences, restarted, all to nothing does not. I know it must be something corrupt in my library, somewhere, as the finder behaves itself in other usernames. I really wanted to do an archive and install in case where that just keep all the problem, and I don't trust a clean installation for a relatively small issue.

Obviously, I need to replace or remove something, but I don't know what. Does anyone know what I need to do please?

    Thanks in advance.

This looks more like a graphical corruption problem, to my eyes.

Could be a problem of chip (GPU) graphics.

The internal heat of the iMac can cause all sorts of problems of component and failure over a period of time.

You doing anything to compensate for the heat inside your iMac?

As a control software fan to speed up the internal fans?

Or run a small desk fan behind the iMac to reduce the internal temperature of the iMac?

This could help to alleviate this problem, if the GPU has not, again, was permanently damaged.

    Good luck!

You can try the following steps in case of problems with web pages:

You can reload webpages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.

    • Hold down the SHIFT key and click the Reload button
    • Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
    • Press 'Command + shift + R' (Mac)

Clear the cache and cookies only from Web sites that are causing problems.

    "Clear the Cache":

    • > Options/Preferences > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

    'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

    • > Options/Preferences > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

Anything can be corrupted on your MacBook Pro, but from what you say, it seems that the cable drive/SSD/flash memory/SATA hard was seriously damaged. Him "question mark" means that your Mac is unable to find any bootable device, meaning that it does not yet detect your OS X drive.

You should make a backup of your files (if you can still do it) and take the Mac at the Apple Store or dealer to get a diagnosis. There may be several damaged parts.

  • Tecra 9100 splash screen & installation of corrupt Boot but OK on XP

    Hello

I just 'inherited' the laptop above and when I got it it had this weird problem. When starting and in "Setup" the display is corrupt. In the start screen, this corruption takes the form of rows of small white lines and dots on any screen, but the screen configuration (or splash screens where you see white low resolution written on a black background) a significant number of characters is defined in the incorrect character (mainly the graphics/Wingding characters.) Corruption exists if the boot & configuration screens are in "Stretch" or not. Its almost impossible to see what the settings are on the installation screen.

However, if I leave the laptop to continue and to start XP, the screen works great, really clear and non-dead pixels or corruption.

I tried re-flashing with the latest BIOS (windows method), I F-Disked, then put in shape, then re-installed XP and applied SP2, then all drivers; However, the problem remains.

Someone has an idea what is the problem?

Thanks much for any help you can provide.

    Hello

Sorry, but on this path is not easy to imagine what it looks like, but it's very strange question. I have a similar problem with my Tecra M1. When I watch a video file with Real player and remove the actual window the entire screen is suddenly fuzzy and there are a lot of points with vertical white lines.

Just restart can fix it. I put really know why this happen and I can't do experiments because I use for work. In my opinion before using the unit to reinstall with the recovery media. On this way the unit will be installed properly and it shouldn't happen.

If you are recovering the unit and if this action solves the problem please let me know.

    Good bye

  • Corruption of memory NVRAM Possible Z580

    Hi guys ~!

Since the last time I posted here, I got my Wi - Fi adapter and cable replaced LCD, my warranty is far beyond being expired and... Well, I had a new problem here.

    Some background first:

After realizing that lenovo support in Poland is as - somehow totally new to be terrible, useless and cause more problems than it's worth (finally), I ended up approaching my laptop with my own skills in computer repair - parts is not free but at least I'm getting somewhere, right?

September 12, 2014, I flashed my BIOS to remove the white list and got an adapter Intel Wi - Fi (5100 AGN) as a replacement for my broken Atheros who becomes completely useless at this point, and all I could do was throw it.

After flashing the BIOS, I noticed that the entry of start menu the menu of Novo pointed to the configuration of the BIOS, while everything else was basically just to boot the os of the 1st player. I do not much since I always access to the BIOS, so that I can start all the cool stuff I had on my USB with no problems.

I tried to update my Windows 10 for new construction, April 11. The process seemed to get stuck at some point given - I managed to read a book while waiting then... you know. So I tried force-restart of my camera and...

    Well...

    * beep *.

    Question:

I can't access BIOS Setup by any means, or the Start Menu. I'm with Secure Boot UEFI enabled mode, about default settings. Remove the HARD drive got stuck on the blank screen. Of course, I can boot any player USB in this way (it's how I restored my Windows 10, I just did a clean install of USB). I wish I had this two guys back without replacing the motherboard if.

    What I tried:

I used efibootmgr to check that if the UEFI entries are still there-, so they're doing efibootmgr magic will not help.

I tried to do a BIOS update using a lenovo site utility, but I got an error checking - I think maybe it's because I got my BIOS modded-whitelist.

I tried this weird thing with removal of all sources of power and pressing the button for 30 seconds, which probably eliminated the CMOS - no effect.

I suspect corruption NVRAM, based on what I found on the Internet - although it occurs mainly on Samsung devices (perhaps, Phoenix BIOS, this is not a bad trail).

And please, don't suggest me to contact lenovo support, simply read the entire post first - my warranty has already expired, I cancelled in waaays maaanyyy so there is no way that they could help me and I think that buying a new motherboard and replacement of the stuff myself cost me lenovo doing much less do it for me - even though I don't want to Since I can live with this problem, really.

Basically, I answer to myself (STILL ALOOONEEE), but in any case, I thought that this could be useful for someone.

Remove the battery CMOS did the trick, I can now access the BIOS Setup. List of entries is always a little weird, but I think this must be just a bug in this mod white list, not that it never worried me anyway.

  • Type R61 14.1 "1400 x 900 screen corruption 7738-CTO - please help troubleshoot

    Hello

I picked up a CTO 7738 used on ebay. Since this is a CTO, here are a few characteristics:

    T7300

    3 GB

    Intel GMA X 3100

    14.1 "1400 x 900

    Webcam

    Bluetooth

    FireWire

    fingerprint reader

    Intel 4965AGN wireless

He arrived in a State of good but not a Virgin. I ran memtest86 +, physical fitness test, for Hitachi hard disk and PC Doctor tests all passed. I have not found any dead pixels. Convinced that he was in good condition, I did the following:

    1. Cleaned and plastic keyboard with isopropyl alcohol soaked cotton cloth.
    2. Clean screen with microfibre cloth moistened with wally world without glare cleaner, lens 'formula without alcohol.
    3. Exchanged in a Thinkpad (Atheros) 11 a/b/g WiFi card to a Type 8932 15.4 "R61. Follow the procedure described in the hardware Maintenance Manual, which is to remove the keyboard and palm rest. I unplug the Palm, just tilted up so could remove the keyboard (I unplug). Used a pattern bracelet while had open machine.
    4. Dust sucked off the fan using the brush on top of fan and fixing of radiator plastic (high speed) on the vents.
    5. Dust sucked out of various other interior spaces using the fixing of radiator plastic.

    Everything seemed fine after that.

Then, I installed Windows XP 32-bit, Norton Internet Security 2009, Internet EXPLORER 8 and Firefox. No problems.

A few hours later, I installed upgrading XP SP3, that I had downloaded a year ago. At some point not long after installing SP3, I noticed the taskbar looked weird:

And pixels background 20 or so have been ruined since then. They do not always look the same:

    Running Memtest86 +.

    White screen (PC Doctor)

    Black screen (PC Doctor)

    Flashing the BIOS

The model changes over time when you're sitting just slowed under XP or Configuration of the BIOS. But I can't do the pattern change in:

    • Change the angle of the screen, almost closed flat.
    • Bending / pushing the slick LCD (with keyboard moved out of the way).
    • By pushing on the LCD ribbon cable connector.
    • Push the connector on the keyboard.
    • Move the keyboard around (Flex ribbon cable).
    • Based on the bezel of the screen.
    • Pressing the back of the housing of the display, it deforming slightly.
    • Pressing radiator covering the North Bridge.

Here's a closeup of the bottom left of the teletubbie XP screen (with the taskbar vertical on the left). The only line of pixel bright in the upper part of the band of corrupt Exchange when I drag windows autour - it seems to mirror the row from the top of the screen. The rest of the band seems that vaguely related to what is on the screen (see black spots under some elements of the taskbar in the first picture), but does not change when I drag windows autour.

Google turned up this post about a similar problem. I tried:

    • Removed and replaced the LCD Ribbon connector cable (twice).
    • Keyboard not plugged and re plugged.
    • Flashed the BIOS to 2.14 old then back to 2.26 last.

None of these answers seem to change anything.

Everything else on the machine works. Video DVI to external monitor is fine. The Atheros WiFi card that I swapped in the works. I have re-ran Memtest86 + and PC Doctor tests and they all still pass (except video interactive!)

    Some ideas of possible causes:

    1. Cable sheet pinched LCD? On this machine, the metal bracket that holds the card connector mother LCD ribbon cable on the framework has a step down where it will fit on the card WiFi support. The step to support causes at the edge of the LCD tablecloth to bend down. When I tightened the screw left WiFi card, which doubles as the LCD ribbon cable support live right, I wonder if I pinched the tablecloth? Or maybe squeezing the keyboard pinch the ribbon cable?
    2. Watered LCD screen? I did clean up around the edges of the screen. Maybe some cleaning fluids worked his way behind the bezel of the screen and the devastation?
    3. Dust, something shorting? Aspire inside caused some dust to move around, perhaps in unfortunate locations?
    4. Shock damage? If UPS moved the ThinkPad (shipped in its original box) on its way to me?
    5. XP SP3 killed my ThinkPad? (!)
    6. Pre-existing condition? Seller says that everything worked well they could say.
    7. Something else?

Would really appreciate troubleshooting tips to those of you with experience with this kind of problems.

I want to fix the problem myself if possible (the system is out of warranty). I'll spend the money if I have to, but do not want to replace the screen only to find that the problem is something else.

Sorry for the length of this post, wanted to give details that could suggest a cause. And if all goes well a fix!

    Thank you

    Frank

I disassembled the strainer and I tried to unplug / re - connect cable from the LCD screen. Neither that, nor prick on the LCD cable has changed the symptoms. So I replaced the screen LCD, and that fixed the problem.

FYI, here is a picture of a little shabby close-up of the cable at the end of the LCD:

(click on the photo for an overview)

There are about 30 pins on the connector. The cable carries the video signal from the motherboard to the LCD screen using the standard FPD-Link of signage. (Inconveniently, there is no standard connector pinout, so the wiring of the cable depends on the exact LCD used.)

National Semiconductor has a nice page on the history of FPD-link, with comparisons/DVI. They say that "a single pixel 6-bit application using a...» Couples 3 data and clock requires the FPD-Link interface. "Looking closely at the R61 LCD cable, includes 8 triple track on the right side, more 1 triplet of largest trace on their left, 1 more track. I wrote the LCD (Samsung) manufacturer and asked a pinout of the connector, because I'm curious. But at this point, I'm guessing that each triplet trace is a thread to the front + wire + wire back half.

Bottom line point, I wanted to do, it is that the video signal is transmitted on a few threads of complex form cable, series. A problem with one or more of these wires should translate into visible corruption everywhere in the LCD screen. It is not like a single wire maps somewhere given the physical LCD.

So in case anyone having problems like I did, with video works well on a monitor external and everything looking good everywhere, but in a small area of the screen of the ThinkPad, you can be almost certain that the problem is the LCD itself.

  • UIR corrupted on SMB share

    Hi all

first of all, can someone tell me if the closed CVI2010. The IUR file is corrupt?

-It opens fine in CVI as a local file

-It opens very well as a local file with my executable LoadPanel

-on a Samba share, I get "could not open the interface... resource file. Suddenly end of file reached.

-using the LoadPanel I get NO FATAL RUN - TIME ERROR: "l:\dim_v17r5\DimGpio\Diagram.c", line 225, col 18, thread id 0x00000A88: library function error (return value ==-92 [0xffffffa4]). Suddenly end of file reached
-on Linux, it crashes in LoadPanel with a core dump

Other (smaller) UIR files work very well in all circumstances. This file is used to run properly. And now I am unable to work because I can not work locally (and the Linux version won't work either).

This problem related to it but seem is different... Yet the WinXP where I run CVI is in a VirtualBox. The files are on the shared folder of a large SAN, samba for Windows, NFS for the side Linux.

If you guys don't think that the file is corrupted, and I think that you will not because I checked the checksum of the previous work, then it's a weird interaction Samba/VirtualBox bug.

Found. My Samba share had reinstated a Vbox share. How, I have no idea. It took me a long time to understand.

  • BITS appear corrupted on the new XP installation

I just reinstalled Windows XP Professional SP3 on a workstation, and I was faced with various problems (mostly minor) for a few days. First, Windows update was not working when initialized manually; automatic updates switched on, but when I tried to manually download updates, the site would never move past the stage of updates you are looking for. I ran MS Fix It for Windows updates, downloaded the update of .NET 2.0 manually, updated Windows update agent and my problem seems to be resolved. I installed some updates from the windows update site, and I decided to go.

Then I tried to install a network printer and repeatedly received the error 'printer driver is not installed. Could not be achieved. "I was installing a driver that I could find using the Windows drivers list after running Windows update. To try to solve this problem, I opened services.msc to ensure the spooler service worked, but the weird following entry caught my attention: @% SystemRoot%\system32\qmgr.dll,-1000. Double click this entry, revealed the name of service bits (Background Intelligent Transfer Service), a service that I understand as part of Windows update. The path to the executable is listed as C:\Windows\System32\svchost.exe-k - netsvcs. This service is set to automatic, but it is not started; try to start the service causes the following error message appears: could not start the service on the Local computer. Error 1290: 0x50a.
As I said, this is a new installation of Windows on a reformatted hard drive. I could list all the software I have installed on the machine, but seeing as how I had update problems immediately after installation, I think that this problem has occurred during the initial installation of Windows XP. I hesitate to reinstall again without being sure that this does not happen, and I'm already a day late to get this machine in its place. Googling "@% SystemRoot%\system32\qmgr.dll,-1000 ' reveals results especially about virus/malware, but I find that an extremely unlikely, as the issue seems to have taken place before the infection would have been even remotely possible. Could I watch a bad hard drive? I'll run chkdsk... results to follow. My first thought is that the material is the most likely cause, because it is a completely new installation of Windows.
A little more information, in the case where it is relevant: the computer is a Dell Vostro 220 (old, I know, but it's didn't need to make a heavy calculation), with windows being reinstalled via a Dell OEM Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 3 disc (the OS reinstall disk that came with the Vostro 220). I chose not to install one of the Dell bloatware, only install Windows and then manually install the missing drivers. Also, I flashed the BIOS with the latest revision of the Dell support Web site. These are the only things that I did before noticing the initial problem with Windows updates.
Thus, any help is greatly appreciated. If there is a way to save this installation, which would be ideal, but I have several old hard drives which I could decline if this is a problem of hard disk hardware. I also have an older Dell OEM Windows disk of a 200 Vostro with Win XP SP2, I used without problem a few times before. I could try to use that and install SP3 manually later, if it has something to do with trying to install the operating system with SP3 already loaded (I know that this is not really that much sense, but I'm grabbing at straws at this point).
EDIT * just scandisk, which found nothing, of course, this does not necessarily mean that the HARD drive is not defective.

I had this problem too, kept getting the error 1290: 0x50a every time I tried to start the service. I got the idea to take the registry entries and the qmgr.dll from XP machine that has bits works correctly. I did a work PC .reg and I copied the qmgr.dll.

Here is a link to the reg file I did: http://www1.zippyshare.com/v/69944822/file.html

Or you can make your own with this .reg file:

Copy into Notepad and save it as a .reg file and run the reg file. Let me know if it solves your problem. You can have a qmgr.dll file corrupted, so if this still does not work after you save this .reg file and then get back to me.

  • Various problems about how to fix the corruption?

I quickly and desperately need help.

So, I listen to music on Windows Media Player.  All my music is located on drive F, while the program itself is on a different drive.  Suddenly, the song I listen to starts glitching.  I close the program and try to restart.  When it doesn't, I think it's just because the process did not finish completely.  I try to open the Task Manager, but it will not.  Then, when I try to open the F drive, it says it's corrupt.  I restart my computer to perform the CHKDSK command.  Many files will eventually be deleted.  I think that too much dust got into my lap, but I did my best to fix this before restarting.  In any case, fortunately, I got almost all of my files backed up, but when I try to copy them in F, it is said that he only TI-Cycle Redundancy Check.  Naturally, this freaked me out.  Meanwhile, I'm trying to open the Task Manager, but fail.  To do this, this thing where he's looking for the file and asks me if I want to watch myself.  I do this and go to the Drive E.  But all the files in System32 have weird names, such as symbols and lines and other things.  And when you hover over them, it has the same weird thing for the listed file type.  I need to check that too?  But it would be annoying that all the files on E has been deleted, since the filesystem there.  Anyone know how to solve these problems?  Help, please!
