Welcome User icon screen help

When I start my windows vista Home premium and get to the logon screen, even if I only have a single user account, the user/avatar icon is small, the same size such that it would be if there were two accounts available to choose. I have to click on the first icon until I can put my password in. Is there a way I can set it up so that the image of the icon will be already selected and all I have to do is enter the password? Thank you.

Hi arrowheadzx,

Unfortunately, there is no selection option already the user account and ready to put the password.

My office has the continuous loop reboot of Windows XP SP3 ("UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME" STOP 0x000000ED - 0x8A8EB7B8). When I put my Windows XP Pro installation CD to access the recovery console to make the steps required to solve the problem. The "Welcome to Setup" screen ever comes back to press 'R' to arrive at the RC. Instead a screen comes up that says, "the following list shows the existing partitions and space unpartitioned on this computer." Then, he gives me the ability to press ENTER to install Windows XP, press C to create a partition, or D to delete a partition.

Why can't I to the Recovery Console to fix the reboot loop?
Most importantly, I lost some data on my hard drive? If it won't let me even get to the RC?

I found a solution to my problem and it worked!

If anyone else has this problem follow these steps:

Click on this link and follow the instructions to make a CD of Windows XP Recovery Console. http://www.proposedsolution.com/Downloads/Download-Windows-Recovery-Console/

Then, when you start using the CD, this...

    1. When you see the "Welcome" screen
    2. press on 'R' to use your Recovery Console to repair the installation
    3. Type "chkdsk/r" and press "enter." CHKDSK will analyze and repair your hard disk. Type "Exit" once this process is complete.

Your computer will restart and should be fixed. at least mine was.

  • How can I change user icon?

    Hello

I have an acer iconia 830 a1 Android and recently I found the main icon is linked to my Google account. I clicked on the user icon on my site and changed the icon of the user on the page. Unfortunately, it changed my Android device icon. I couldn't remove the icon on the Web site, but has deleted the icon of the Google app + Android. Profile of user icon returns to the default blue icon, but the android icon remained. I tried to change the icon again, the android icon changed instantly, but would not restore the default icon once the page Google.com to deleted user icon.

Is there a way to clear the icon of the device android WiFi, battery, clock, menu user drop down? It's the second drop of the notification bar. I tried to erase data under 'contacts' and 'contact storage. " Is not the icon of contact related to the device, but the Google + user page, which has been changed and restored to the default.

I would like to restore my Android for the smiley face icon, if there is no way I guess that I will project from the drop-down list to another device and use it as the Google + page, then delete the icon forcing the android icon to restore.

I hope you can help me to restore my default user icon.

    Thank you!

The two methods I found in a quick Google search are to change your icon in the Contacts by editing your profile and changing the image in Google + and then sync. Most suggest copy image stock because apparently just to take a picture is not back to the stock.

    Hello

No saving necessary data and re-installing Windows Vista might be the best option, but here
    are a few others.

You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer as a 2nd disk (best) or external
Drive USB enclosure and then backup to removable media such as CD, DVD or other USB drives.
Of course a real store of the computer or the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files.

Or you can use a boot Ubuntu CD to back up data.

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel - device
Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right click
on devices and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

A method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure) is CTRL +.
ALT + DELETE - Manager tasks and tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - and then
on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is available by
repeatedly tapping F8 as you start. CTRL + SHIFT + ESC also begins the Task Manager.

  • Single user lock screen requires now click here to see the password field; what setting or API controls this?

At first, this may seem like only an issue with a third-party application, but the question applies to Windows in general. I am a software developer and experienced Windows user, but I can't seem to find no answer on what's going on.

Normally lock on Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (when you press Windows + L for example) display an icon of great user, the user name, the word "locked" and a password field and a "Change user" button. But after installing the client VPN Junos Pulse , my lock screen changes: it is a tiny user icon and no password field. I have to click the tiny user icon before a password field is displayed:

This situation is not limited to the Junos Pulse. I found the people ask this question after installing programs face connection. Others have had the same problem. And still others have had this problem - more recently. But no one can provide no answer to which change the login screen.

If I uninstall Junos Pulse login screen returns to normal. But the question is not about Junos Pulse; I want to know what Windows setting or API call causes this situation. What could be the Junos Pulse that would lead even this behavior?

Yes, I already checked that there is only one user account after the installation of Junos Pulse, and the guest account is disabled.

Junos Pulse setting changed to change the behavior of my lock screen, and how to make a lock screen normal return that immediately presents the password field without requiring an additional click?

After installing the latest updates, my screen on large icons, screen too large for my moniter the only way of difficulty was to uninstall updates.

Sounds like something in the update causes a conflict with your video driver or change the resolution settings.

The first thing to do to solve the problem is to try to install each of the updates one at a time instead of let Windows Update do several updates together.  If you're lucky, the problem can not ride again.  If so, you'll know at least update is the cause of the problem.

If the problem persists, try right click on an empty area of your desktop and select properties to open the display properties dialog box.  Select the settings tab.  Look to see if the screen is correctly identified and if the resolution seems correct.  If you spot something wrong, change to the correct setting.  If everything looks correct, you can try to change the resolution to see if that can solve the problem.

You can also check the website of the manufacturer of your graphics card to see if they have an updated display driver.  Updates of the operating system only sometimes work correctly if you have the latest version of the drivers for the various components.

If all else fails, you can uninstall the update one that is causing the problem and mark do not show you this update again in Windows updates.   Doing so will be considered a last resort - especially if the update in question is one of the security updates.

    Hello

    You can try the following.

Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at f8 that you start the laptop to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select Safe mode and press ENTER.  If windows will load in this mode, on the Start Menu, click principally made programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and run the system restore.  Choose a restore point at least 24 hours prior to the issue of logon and then proceed to the restoration.  When you are finished, Windows will restart as normal in order to check if you can now connect correctly.

Another option if the above does not help is as follows.

Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at f8 that you start the laptop to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select "Start using last good known Configuration" and press ENTER.
