What 500 GB SATA drive is compatible with the APS Thinkpad?

I want to upgrade the main drive in my W500 at 500 GB, or possibly put the biggest drive in Ultrabay W500 carrier. I would like APS to work for the two discs.

Does anyone have a * real * experience of the use of the APS with such a high capacity drive?

I think the Hitachi Travelstar 5K 500. B family of readers (9.5 mm in height), but the OEM hardware manual doesn't speak any "Immediate unloading" command (which - I hope I have this right - does not write unwritten cached buffers but parks immediately drive), only the command "immédiate Idle" with function "unload":

Unloading feature:
The UNLOADING FEATURE of the IDLE IMMEDIATE command allows the host immediately unload the head. The device stop reading to come if it is ongoing. If the unit performs a write operation, the device suspends writes data cached on the support as soon as possible. Data in the write cache is stored, and the device takes over data cached on a writing material after receiving a software reset, a Hardware Reset or any new command except IDLE IMMEDIATE with the UNLOADING FEATURE

I phoned HitachiGST support, and they told me that large OEM's like Lenovo order their discs with custom firmware OEM versions and support Hitachi were not informed of what are the characteristics that could affect.

In theory the Lenovo readers could use a different command for "Immediate Idle" code of practice regular, unmodified firmware does not support.

Anyone with more information?

I ended up buying a Seagate 320 7200.3 drive 7200 RPM with integrated protection of the 'G-force '. Leaving active APS has not led to compatibility problems: the drive Park when the laptop is shaken, but I don't know if it's the result of the APS system or the built-in accelerometer.

  • What size of HARD drive is compatible with my Satellite A100-771

    Hey guys,.

is there a size limit of HDD for my A100-771?
And what type of HARD drive I need? IDE or SATA?

    Thank you very much.
    Eathen.

    Hi dude

From my experience, the Satellite A100 series was equipped with SATA drives.

There should be a SATA HDD controller and you can use SATA 2.5 hard drives.

I think that there isn t disc HARD size limit since the SATA controller is not limited to all special HARD drive sizes

I think that most SATA HDD must be compatible

  • Where can I find what kind of phone charges are compatible with the CMF?

I've recently updated one of our CME to CME v10.0 systems

I noticed that even if CMEv10 the Firmware support page shows how compatible phone for my 7911 phones is 9-2-1TH1-13,

My 7911 running load phone 8-4-3-16 that all seem to be save and it works very well.

So I must conclude that 7911 phone charging 8-4-3-16 is compatible with GCE v10.0

Where can I go to find out what kind of phone charge versions are compatible with GUY or perhaps, at least, where I can find loads what kind of phone are no longer supported by a version of the CME?

    Hi Jared,

Specific versions of CMF are tested with the versions listed on the doc "requirements" as you mentioned (linked below), but are not limited to these versions of firmware. The phone charges/firmware is completely independent of the CME/IOS version. And it is often appropriate to upgrade or downgrade the firmware of the phone on CME levels and is fully supported :)

    I would look at the upgrade of the firmware 8-4-3 for the 7911 BUT you need go to an intermediate version of the midpoint as 8-5-2 at first because of the "important notes" below;

    Questions for SCCP firmware update

Note for all the firmware updates SCCP firmware version versions prior to 8.3 (3) for version 8.5 (3) or higher, you must first upgrade your firmware to version 8.5 (2). Once you have upgraded to version 8.5 (2), you can upgrade your IP phone to version 8.5 (3) or later.

The word "support" has a connotation that is specific to HP - it usually means were that he tested with, sold with, etc.   I do not think that these discs were available when this system was built/designed, and thus the moniker "supported" official cannot be assured.

Everything that is said - I see not where there is a problem with this player.   I have a m9600t HP of a similar vintage - I swapped my Seagate 750 GB drive for a 7200 RPM Hitachi 2 TB drive and added an another 2 TB "Green" WD drive as a secondary drive.   No problems.

I have used Ghost of Norton to clone the old boot HDD on the Hitachi.  Made sure the D: drive Alias: "recovery partition" was kept the same size and then said Norton to use all the space of the new to develop on the c: drive.  Works very well.   The WD drive - I partitioned as a large drive E:.   Made sure to partition to NTFS.

Your mileage may vary - but I think it should work correctly...

  • What CD/DVD drive is compatible with the Satellite A10 S103

I use the laptop Toshiba Satellite A10 S103 and I am about to replace the CD/DVD-ROM drive of origin by a new who can also write CDs and DVDs.

However, I got a notice, that after the installation of the new DVD to drive the "IDE #1 error" message may appear. According to my knowledge, this error can be avoided by replacing the old disk with a new one which requires the same Primary/Secondary Master/Slave/cable select settings like old.

Can you recommend a drive of DVD - RW which could replace the old DVD - ROM drive and would work without any additional adjustment of HW?
The new DVD - RW drive should be similar to know
    [http://www.sonynec-optiarc.de/en/exhibits/slim-line-drives/ad-7540a.html].

However, I was not able to decide that if this device will be or does not work in my computer that I don't know the parameters of the original DVD.

My original Toshiba DVD drive information as follows:
    ' 1. ' "model SD-C2612
    2 "ROM worm." 1315
    3 'serial No.' 394N002659
    ' 4. ' 302 ' version number.

The computer is already out of warranty

    Thank you.

You are right. FDI #1 error is displayed because the BIOS doesn't recognize the new internal CD/DVD drive because of the wrong master/slave/c-salt settings.
Usually, these settings are fixed and cannot be changed on the external sides with another position of the rider.
The firmware controls the notebooks internal parameters ODD.

    Concerning
    Sergeant

    Hello

because your machine is pretty old, perhaps to search through ebay or something similar might help you.

So I can't help you with disassembly of your player, because I Don t know, but you can try to loosen a few screws on the bottom of the machine that are exactly where the disc it s back.
Try to imagine where the reader can be mounted with screws, it must be around the middle part of the bottom of your machine.

    Welcome them

For all those who in the same situation: just update that I couldn't get a response from definatel anywhere so I went ahead and bought. It works! the laptop can produce up to 1920 x 1200 60 Hz no problem. All this talk on the Internet where you hear people say that you need a powerful graphics for 1920 x 1200 is disinformation. My laptop it handled cooly and it isn't uniform heat issues. Cooling fans not triggered more than usual.

  • What HARD drive is compatible with HP 120W Advanced Docking station (NZ222AA)

Please tell me that HARD drive is compatible with the Bay of integrated upgrade HP 120W Advanced Docking Station (NZ222AA) SATA... I can't find the info nor in the manual the user, or from the HP site. Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    Please check this:

While neither station can be upgraded, both have a Bay of upgrade which allows you to install an additional hard drive. If you choose to install the additional drive, you will add additional gigabytes to your current mobile storage space. However, if you choose to take advantage of the extra space, a standard hard drive does not fit into the Bay to upgrade. HP offers a hard drive 500 GB, specially designed for the upgrade on the 120W and the 230W Bay; You must order the HDD upgraded through HP.

    Hello!

Theoretically, most of the WiFi cards should work, but the best way would be if you take a WiFi card that was delivered with a computer laptop Satellite P10.

I put t know what cards shipped with this laptop, but I have a little search here in the forum and I have created a thread that might be interesting for you:
