What components to use?

So I just installed and tested the application demo of Hello world - works great so far.

I use flex every day at work, but I'm really confused about the components I should / am allowed to use. Can I use only the components of the qnx? I've tried a few mx components and they work very well in the Simulator. But I don't know if I'm supposed to be.

So I have really put a Textfield inside a button to get a QNX button with a label on the inside? What is dynamic text? Looks like a lot of work for such a simple thing - why not use the flex button component?

I also noticed that the flex Design view does not work with the QNX components. Not with flash builder - 4 and not with burrito is this normal? Can I use any mxml and actionscript?

THX

Good questions and welcome:

A good number of the MX controls probably won't work on the device (for example HTML).  You have probably fewer problems if you use the only AS3 approach for generating application (root class is a Sprite) and use the QNX planned controls.  The QNX provided controls are optimized for the device and manages the tactile aspect of the unit.  Where MX controls have been more or less designed for web and desktop applications with a single mouse and keyboard as controller.  The downside is that you want to use for the MXML UI definition, it is not currently there for QNX controls.  If you like AS3 coding, then you will feel at home.

No, better to use LableButton, where:

var btn: LabelButton = new LabelButton();

BTN.label = "Push Me";

works perfectly.

Dynamic text, I assume you mean a label, so the class Label QNX don't who likes the class Label MX.

Hope that helps.  Many issues have already been discussed on this forum, so I encourage them to browse and search the forum because all the questions that you have, probably asked and aswnered already.  However, if you can't find it, ask.

    Dear all,

After reclassification of the WCC PS3 to PS7, I can see a few new components.

Among these, what is the use of the component 'CoherenceCache '?

Can someone help me find the documentation for it?

    Kind regards

    Hi David,

Here are the details on what the component CoherenceCache would like in on a general basis: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/articles/vohra-coherence-100891.html

This feature is not currently supported with COE PS7 - 11.1.1.8.0 due to some related issues in cache when the AutoSuggest function is enabled (for ADF UI) so right now, it's a redundant component.

    I hope this helps.

  • I use the FireFox browser, so what do I use it instead of Flash to be able to watch videos without going to Chrome, IE or another browser?

Since Firefox is disable Adobe Flash, what do I use to watch videos or play games that require a Flash drive?

Adobe released an update yesterday to solve critical problems, he admitted were in the 18.0.0.203 version. You can get 18.0.0.209 on this page:

    https://www.Adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html

In the first table, find the row corresponding to "browser plugin", and you can use either the EXE or the MSI installer.

No one can promise that this kind of block will never happen. If that happens, if you are not accustomed to using the "Request to activate" feature a plugin, here's what to expect:

When you visit a site that wants to use the Flash, you should see a notification icon in the address bar and usually (but not always) one of the following values: a link in a black rectangle in the page or an information bar slides between the toolbar and in the page area.

If you see a good reason to use Flash, and the site looks trustworthy, you can go ahead and click on the Lego-like icon in the address bar to allow Flash. You can trust the site for the time being or permanently.

But some pages use Flash only for tracking or play ads, so if you do not see an immediate need for Flash, feel free to ignore the notification! It will just sit there in case you later want.

I could be misunderstanding your question, but if you mean the letters below the numbers on the keyboard of the phone (for example the ' ABC' below the 2), use only one of them is for companies of advertising with easier to remember numbers. For example, Apple Announces the number (800) MY-APPLE which is composed as (800) 692-7753 words are easier to remember and the numbers on the keyboard allow to translate the letters to numbers that you dial.

  • When I click on a video file, I wonder what program to use to run it.

I use any plugins to play my video files. Instead, I trust the Player multimedia itself. Currently, there are a lot of files that open in VLC or Windows Media Player, when I click on their link in Firefox. Some other types of files do not open immediately and I am prompted with a box asking me to choose a program to run the file. I click on "Do it again" or something like that, said, hoping that when I opened such a file, I would not invite with this message again. Unfortunately, this is not the case. While many files opens my media players directly, there are many who ask me what program to use, even if it is verified to use a specific program.

The setting automatically uses a specific program is linked to the MIME type that the server sends with the file.

If it's a generic MIME type then Firefox does not offer that choice and in other cas servers can use different MIME types.

  • Should what format I use for my external hard drive?

I have an external drive that I wish I could use (writing) from my Mac and my PC, but without the limitations of + 4 GB files.

Is this possible or am I pasted with limiting the size? If so should what format I use on my external hard drive? and it has all the other notes aside I should know?

    Thank you!

    Hi Filabaca:

If you want to use a hard drive external Mac and PC options are:

    1. format the drive in Mac as exFat

    2. format the drive to NTFS on a Windows PC and use a program like Paragon NTFS for Mac. https://www.Paragon-Software.com/home/NTFS-Mac/

Paragon NTFS for Mac allows you to use a disc formatted in NTFS by a Windows PC.

Here is an article showing the difference between FAT32, exFAT and NTFS. http://www.howtogeek.com/235596/whats-the-difference-between-fat32-exfat-and-ntf s /

  • 2016 iMac, purchase decision: why I'd get a 2 TB vs 1 TB disc fusion? What type of use requires a 2 TB with vs 128 GB 1 TB 24 GB flash version?

2016 iMac, purchase decision: why I'd get a 2 TB vs 1 TB disc fusion? What type of use requires a 2 TB with vs 128 GB 1 TB 24 GB flash version?

At first, we thought they were SSDS but learned that they are only partial. It really takes the extra storage space and our practices are mainly applications to business and other things like google earth, photos, the light using google sketchup etc. To know we are not the players or the designers. However, we do tend to keep our computers for a long time. We still have our 11 year old iMac. Are there benefits hidden suspension for the 2 TB drive that we regret or should stick us to the 1 TB version?  If we were to get a 2 TB we would notice even the difference account required to our practice?

It depends in part on the total amount of storage you need. One way to help determine which would be to analyze how much space you use on your current iMac. I currently have a MacBook Air, which has only 128 GB of total storage (all the flash) and it's big enough for me (though I'm not typical) and I really enjoy his performance. If I was in the market for an iMac, I'd be buying the 256 GB flash storage option - but I don't need total storage space. The information below from the link "how much storage is good for you" in the http://www.apple.com/shop/buy-mac/imac?product=MK442LL/A & step = config

    can help

    Flash storage

Flash storage offers significantly improved compared to a traditional hard drive - performance speed you will notice when you start your iMac, launch an application or browse your photo library. Storage Flash also uses no moving parts, so it works silently. For maximum performance, you can configure up to 512 GB of memory flash on the iMac 21.5 inches or up to 1 TB on the iMac 27 inches.

    Fusion drive

Fusion drive handset storage quick flash with a large hard drive. OS X intelligently manages what goes where, using the Flash for files you access frequently and keep the rest of your digital life to the larger hard drive. Over time, the system learns how you work, so it suits the Fusion drive management view for work best for you. You can choose a Fusion drive up to 2 TB on the 21.5-inch iMac, and up to 3 TB on the iMac 27 inches.

Merge to disk 1 pairs of a hard disk of 1 TB with 24 GB of quick flash - enough to store files of OS X and applications in order to ensure a quick start, near wake instant sleep and quick application launch, with room remains for the most frequently used files and important applications. 2 to and 3 to pair of Fusion results in a hard drive more than 128GB of quick flash storage, offering even more space for your most frequently from the files used. For best performance, systems iMac with 32 GB of memory must be configured with a 2 to big merger or any flash storage.

  • What can I use if I don't have Internet connection?

I travel with my parents and they do not have WiFi.  What can I use on my iPod without an Internet connection?

You can use a smart phone and endearing hotspot, if you have a phone and a plan that takes care of that.  Or buy a device of mifi for cell data to the Internet connections.

Otherwise, any application that does not require an Internet connection in real time for use should work just fine.

  • I need to access sites that require adobe flash player on the iPad.  What can I use to allow me to access?

I need to access sites that require adobe flash player on the iPad.  I can access these sites on my imac with adobe flash player then why not on my ipad.

What can I use to allow me access to these sites, which are for educational purposes for my grandson to allow him to do his homework?

While you can get Adobe Flash on the iMac, you can't be on the iPad. There are some browsers in the App Store that will emulate flash, I think that one of them is atomic, or something like that. Do a search on the App Store and you should find something.
