What conditions must exist before that Vista will be puy a computer on standby?
What conditions must exist before Vista will put the computer to sleep?
I'm having a horrible time to getting my computers to turn out to fall asleep on their own.
Wake-on-Lan is disabled. Power options are:
Disable hard drive: never
Sleep after 10 minutes
Selective suspension of USB enabled or disabled - makes a difference in my tests
Link state power management off
Processor power management: 10% to 100%
Savings power search and indexing method: energy saving
Turn off the display after 1 minute
Allow the computer to sleep when shaing media
The computer will sleep or Hibernate when I select from the start menu or set up and push the power button to do. If the hardware is capable.
My basic question is this: what are the conditions specifically must exist in order for the computer think it should go to sleep. There are a number of processes that are still running of course. There is no way cannot have a time computer the CPU consumption SystemIdleProcess, but is there some criteria that tells the operating system that the computer is idle most of the time? I use the powercfg.exe tool to determine that ONLY the mouse and keyboard are armed for wake up the system.
This computer has 4 user accounts, it's a desktop machine, some accounts may be recorded throughout the night and I still want the computer standby or hibernation even if these accounts are registered on.
What you can do to understand what is happening?

Thank you for using Microsoft Vista answers Forum!
I suggest that you change the power supply for the multimedia settings options.
· Go to the Start button, Control Panel, click Power Options.
· Choose a power plan different from that you have chosen. If you have high performance, then choose balanced.
· Then click on Change Plan settings. If you get the Windows needs your permission to continue, click on continue. Choose the time you want to put the computer to sleep.
· Then click on change advanced power settings. Under Advanced settings, scroll down to Multimedia settings.
· Expand when sharing media, choose "allow the computer to sleep.
· If this option is grayed out, go to the top of the screen and click on change settings that are currently unavailable.
· This will allow you to choose other options. Click ok to close the dialog boxes.
If please reply and let us know if your problem is resolved or if you need more help.

my computer won't let me download the area of map Sanchez or Captain 10 print since I had to restore my computer to magf settings and I got here before that and had no problem with it, can someone please explian why or help me solve the problem that I really love both the progams and used them both much thanks.
Hello bashfulunicorn,
You should check with the manufacturer of the software if it is compatible with Windows Vista. My research I found that the PrintMaster 10 is designed to work with Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT/2000, so in order to to use with Vista, you should try to install iwn compatibility mode.
Run the program compatibility Wizard
1. open the program compatibility Wizard the by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, click programs, and then clicking on use an older program with this version of Windows.
2. follow the directions in the wizard.
See the bottom of the article for more information on this:

I put my computer on 'Hibernate' when I went to bed. When I woke up, I started the computer learned to manufacturer (HP) computer screen introduction as usual, but windows doesn't not load afterwards, as he usually does: I just get a black screen. Lights supply and all the rest are on. Just nothing happens. Any ideas?
Can I use the firmware from HP (I guess that's what it is) to confirm that my memory and hard drive are very good. I tried Googling the problem, and some signs indicate a problem with the powercfg parameter. I can't get in cmd.exe to reset because I can't get into windows (although through HP firmware, I can enter in "Administrator: X:\windows\system32\cmd.exe - cmd", which seems the same, but the orders that I see offered on websites do not seem to work - help?). Ditto with Safe Mode. I don't have Vista installation disc.
Any help is very appreciated.
Hello
You need to contact HP and install recovery disks command to perform a repair.

After the model site has changed, how can see what it looked like before that
Hello
I posted this question earlier today. My boss was by clicking on the original model and dynamic menus and changed it into force. Now, the menu and submenues changed their position. He doesn't remember exactly what he was doing, but I can't download the current file to compare to my local copy at the moment.
Anyone suggest a way I can see the preview of what the site looked like the day before yesterday?

Thank you in advance,
Anna
Hi Anna,.
The menu does not have a rollback or restore function at this point.
However if the customer has modified the model then it is possible to cancel changes...
By the intermediary of--> Details page template-> restoration and archiving.
I hope this helps!

In what condition must be used CHARTOROWID
Hi all
I don't understand why we need to function CHARTOROWID.
When I do this:
I can still query the line without the function... then what is the function for?SQL> select rowid, chartorowid(rowid) test from employees where employee_id=100; ROWID TEST ------------------ ------------------ AAADYiAABAAAKb6AAA AAADYiAABAAAKb6AAA SQL> select first_name from employees where rowid='AAADYiAABAAAKb6AAA'; FIRST_NAME -------------------- Steven SQL> select first_name from employees where rowid=chartorowid('AAADYiAABAAAKb6AAA'); FIRST_NAME -------------------- Steven
Best regards
ValerieYou can use the data type implicit conversion - let the figure of SQL engine which must be converted and how (formatted for use).
Or you can use type conversion of explicit data - where your code provides for the conversion to be carried out and understand the rules and the formatting for this conversion. It is usually the safest and most reliable option.
Thus, when you perform the following steps:
Select first_name from employees where rowid = "AAADYiAABAAAKb6AAA";Oracle must implicitly convert this string you provided to a rowid data type.
When you follow these steps:
Select first_name from employees where rowid = CharToRowId ('AAADYiAABAAAKb6AAA');You are teaching to the Oracle to explicitly convert this string to a rowid data type.
Always consider as a rule of thumb, using explicit conversions - as implicit conversions may depend on internal settings (session) and can convert differently from what you assume.

Original title: corrupted vista OS?
My Dell studio slim desktop (Vista OS) that I have since Mar09 died on me 2 weeks back and I can't it start and it will keep rebooting until it resembles the wide long beep (as if a deceased person)
Whenever my com has restarted, it shows the following:
Safe mode
Safe mode with networking
Safe mode with command prompt
Last known good configuration (Advanced)
Start Windows normally
All options will be led to the recovery of my com & return the same screen.
It will always get stuck at the loading bar where the com starts boot & restarts itself.
I tried to attach the hard drive to a different com as external hard drive, but it will begin to restart that com & hang the CMO as well
I tried using the disc to reinstall OS from DELL and it will show a msg of error (blue screen) with the following text:
Disable or uninstall the antivirus, Defrag disk or backup utilities. Check the configuration of the hard disk & check for any updated drivers.
Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

Any idea of this situation?
Is it possible to save my cause com have not all backups from my hard drive?
Any help would be grateful.
Thank you
Hi Bill,
I forgot to include some info as well... I replaced the 'touched' hardisk (Barracuda 500 GB) to an unused a (Barracuda 160 GB) and the problems disappeared. Whenever I change back the 500 GB in the com, the sound signal occurs only backwards the system continues the reopening for abt... 10 + times?"My Office studio slim (Vista OS) Dell I have since Mar09 died on me 2 weeks back and I can't it start, and he'll keep rebooting until it seems a beep long-lasting looks not (as if someone died).
So the questions are now fixed, unless you put the other disk hard?
Test the other hard drive.
Go to the website of your computer manufacturer > find specifications of hardware in your computer (hard drive) > access the Web Hard Drive from the manufacturer site > download their diagnostic software > make a Bootable disc > test your hard drive.
And run the F12 as I advised you to do so.
It is DELL's Diagnostics software.
Good luck with it.

After careful consideration, today I decided to join Adobe Photoshop CC only to find out that it is not available to me that my laptop has Windows Vista. What are my options other than having to buy a new computer or an older version like Ps5 or 6?
1 can't read on a Windows "upgrade version" which, in my experience, does NOT require you to format your drive... updated on what you have, without disturbing programs installed... at least that's what happened the ONLY time wherever I installed an upgrade version, so I can't give a 100% guarantee that it will work with your computer in this way... search link for all the things Microsoft http://search.microsoft.com/search.aspx?mkt=en-US&setlang=en-US
2 - depending on the hardware you have, you may not be able to run programs CC well, or not at all
3 CS6 is 3 years and is the ONLY non - CC version always sold... unless you can find a "legal" somewhere CS5

My seagate expansion drivre has been brilliant so far. Last night I opened the properties and I check the box that says "compress files to save disk space" or something like that. Since I could not open the damn thing. If I try to open a window telling me that I need to fomat the disc in this drive (F) until I can use it. I can't findout how to cancel compression of files and I don't want to format the drive because I think that will delete all my files. I think that the compression of the files can be called "Zipper" and I need to extract, but I can't find any option to do this. Can anyone help? If I didn't leave enough information please ask what you need to know that I will answer as soon as POSSIBLE.

The store where I gought this computer had these on special purchases and told me that I couldn't keep XP. I think that VISTA will not many of my programs like print shop ect. It does not open some of my XP disks did. Always open XP address book usung UM printing shop. Vista doesn't recognize UM. Sometimes the Explorer and/or the internet will just fade and stop working for me
Really, I want XP back, is it possible that you can do this? As I can't afford to go buy an XP program.
If you want xp you must buy it, if you can find it. And then only if your new PC has Windows XP drivers available from this manufacturer of PC

Product key bad for the wrong version?
Hello
Recently the computer in business inherited from a friend, very fast and very good. Regardless of the operating system no - geniue, is with Vista Business, while the thumbnail of authentication is Vista Ultimate. I took a screenshot of what it says when I put Vista Ultimate product key: (it does not appear if you are unable to use it: P)
http://S13.PostImage.org/57nfn5pqv/vistareg.jpg
He said: "the product key you entered will not work with this edition of Windows Vista. You must run the Windows Vista Setup program or enter a Windows Vista Business product key."
How would the installation of Windows Vista? My files would still be there when you need him? My drivers would still exist? No matter what to get deleted or become unusable? He would return to SP1? Any response is welcome.
You can order form of the manufacturer's recovery media.
The reason why the system as non-authentique shows currently is using a license in Volume KMS - these licenses must be re-activated at least every 6 months by connecting to the KMS user license activation server.
It will require a reformat and reinstall whatever you do, unless you can connect to the KMS - Volume media server cannot be upgraded under normal conditions.

I bought a laptop HP three years ago in Dubai, now I am in India, my family problem does not activate windows vista and also use it now, I try to use but asked the system to activate product key not found the product key at the bottom of my laptop I enter the product key but the system says "the product key you entered will not work with this edition of windows vista.» You must run the windows vista Setup program or enter a windows vista product key. Hello
You can use this Recovery Partition to reinstall Vista to his new condition with the right edition of Vista.
This recovery partition was photographed on your hard drive by HP during the manufacturing of the factory.
You press F11 on startup to start the process of recovering back to factory settings.
Here is the information about HP.
http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?DocName=c00809678&LC=en&DLC=en&cc=us&product=18703
If the recovery partition is damaged, you can buy HP's Vista recovery discs for a small fee.
If HP's Vista recovery disks, you may need to try this instead:
You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs
Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:
"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html
And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.
