What does "wireless authentication failed because of a time-out" mean?

Have a combo unit router and modem.  Having two computers.  You can use the wireless that the other cannot use Wired.  Getting messages like "wireless authentication failed because of a time-out," conflict of IP address and canceled due to the delay.  There was a variety of messages.  We had been able to use a router before, but it would be turned off every two hours or more.  Giving the same messages on Windows Vista.  The other computer is Windows XP Motorola
modem/router.

Hello

1. what security WEP, WPA, etc. Do you use?
2. is the driver software updated for the router to work correctly on Vista computer?

I suggest you to follow these steps and check if that helps:

Method 1:
I suggest you to check if you can connect by using a different port or a different router in case the problem is with the router itself.

Method 2:
You can also visit the link provided below, which offers a similar problem resolution. Check if the steps to help you resolve the problem.

    Friends,

I use Intel PROSet Wireless user interface to connect to my wireless router.
Because of this process, I have disabled my windows for wireless control configuration.

However, despite the use of the property of device correct password and the password, I am unable to connect to my WiFi router.

    I get an error stating

    Hello

Again activate the Windows configuration and use Windows WLAN options to configure WLAN connectivity. To be honest, using Intel PROSet, this should work too.
Try to remove the protection of password on your router for a moment and test the connectivity. To be honest, I'm sure that there is something wrong with the settings of your laptop.

  • ACS wireless authentication failed

    Greetings,

We have recently migrated to IAS in Windows to Cisco ACS 5.2.0.26 for our wireless authentication and use PEAP-MSCHAPv2 hit AD. Everything seems to work fine except when a user account has a restriction on which machines they are allowed to connect to, date to which an ACS journal entry shows as follows.

24441 account not allowed to log on by using the current workstation

This was work properly when we were using the IAS server and I think ACS is not just pass the attributes required at this time. All know how what extra configuration may be needed in ACS to support this configuration?

    See you soon,.

    Rob

Sounds like you have enabled computer authentication. In the case of ACS wireless can get the names of the authentication request machine. With this strategy/limitation defined in Active Directory to apply the restriction of user login then ACS will have to provide a name of host machine for each request that it send to Active Directory. As it has already set up it is not possible for the CSA to know the name of the actual machine of the authentication of the user, ACS sends a default name for the machine its own name with each request to AD. On the ad, we create a computer by name of ACS account and then allow all users to connect to this computer. This way ACS is allowed to authenticate all.

If please see Add GBA as a computer account on the ad with the same host name and see if helps.

Can someone tell me what I need to do? Thank you very much.

    Hello

Search for updated drivers and reinstall if no later by using the procedure below.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

Download - SAVE - go where you put it - right click – RUN AS ADMIN.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version. (The
manufacturer of system become your backup policies).

I would also turn off auto update for the drivers. If the updates Windows suggests a just HIDE as they
are almost always old, and you can search drivers manually as needed.

Is "host1.exampl.com" the real hostname of your machine "host1"?  Or you made that blur in your ad - thing quite legitimate to do this for security reasons.

Whatever, this is not really a matter of tns, unless of course 'host1.example.com' is really what you put in the tnsnames file, but your server "host1" became really something else.

Assuming that 'host1.example.com' is the correct value, debugging starts with the following:

    [oracle@host2 admin] $ ping host1.example.com

    [oracle@host2 admin] $ tracerout host1.example.com
