HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 scanner software

I am running Windows Vista and just bought the printer HP OfficeJet Pro 8600. I'm having a hell of a time with this printer and is seriously considering to go back if I can't get this figured out as soon as possible.

When I open the software HP OfficeJet Pro 8600, open it from the main panel I double click on the 'Scanner Actions' button, then on the "Scan Document or Photo" button, nothing happens. I can not get the scanner software to open so that I can control my options of scan of the computer.

Thus, starting from printer control box, when I go to scan, I am only able to "Scan to Network Folder" and can not scan to computer. The message I get is "computer is unavailable.

I am able to "Scan to Network Folder" so I'm not too concerned about this issue, however, I have to be able to access the scanner software so that I can set my parameters of scanning etc. on my computer.

I buy the device for the wireless. I could not access the software when you are connected wireless with so I tried to connect via USB. No difference what so ever.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software 4 times so far. 2 times since the CD and 2 times from the website of HP software.

Hey dleman. Sorry to hear that you have questions and I thank you for your detailed messages. I would try using the doctor printing & scanning HP. This tool will attempt to solve the problem for you and provide a specific code if it cannot solve the problem.

Let me know how it goes and if this does not resolve the problem, we can go from there.

Thank you

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 N911g: Officejet Pro 8600 Plus software

I have the ability to print from the computer, so I know that the drivers of HP printer work.  I also checked that I can run a scan from the printer and the computer using the icon "HP Scan" through the start menu.

The problem is that I can't run HP software suite via the desktop shortcut icon or the icon of the file in the source of the printer folder.

The printer is connected via an Ethernet cable to the network from home.  I deleted and reinstalled the software suite, and when he arrives to find the printer, it fails.  When I plugged in the name of the product he couldn't find so I used the network address (192.168.1.4 - off the Test Page from Windows printer), and it continues the installation until it appears at the end.  It places the "HP Officejet Pro 8600" icon on my desktop as well as its 'Supplies - HP Officejet Pro shop' icon.  If I click on the "Shop supplies - HP Officejet Pro" icon, it takes me to the appropriate supply online store input screen.  When I double click the icon "HP Officejet Pro 8600", it gives me very briefly the windows just 'work' swirl but does not open the software application.

I tried to uninstall the printer using Windows "Devices and printers" Control Panel, and then deleted the HP using "Programs and features" software, and then reinstall everything using new drivers and software HP through their web site.  This has not changed the symptoms or outcomes.

    Hi GL1800A,.

    I hope all is well!

One last thing, you can try, if you wish, is to go through this guide, HP monofunctional and Printers Multifunction - HP Printer Wizard opens with an error in Script or in Notepadand try the fix that is provided.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus: software the Printer Wizard does nothing and eats CPU

    Hello

I currently have a problem with the HP printer Assistant software. I use a HP Officejet Pro 8600. Well I uninstalled and reinstalled several times, redownloaded the latest version of the software from the HP site, tried with a wireless connection and a USB connection, but still have this same problem.

The problem is when I open the printer to the printer Assistant software (scan, definition of printing preferences, etc.) nothing loads and what I noticed is that in the Task Manager, the program is constantly, nonstop to duplicate in the Task Manager and eventually slow down the computer because of the high use of the processor of these duplicates. I can't stop these processes in time compared to the amount of tasks in doubles at this very moment, and the only way to stop it is to restart the computer. I had this problem with Windows 8.1 and so I've upgraded to Windows 10 but exactly the same problem occurs. If I wait long if I get an error (0xc0000142) telling me that I can not load the Printer Wizard, but the process will still duplicate.

I tried using the printer with other computers, but they do not have a problem by launching the wizard from the printer. I wonder what is happening and why is the Printer Wizard launch multiple neverending himself as tasks on the Task Manager?

Add to that, printing works fine, it is train to launch the Printing Assistant software that is causing the problem.

Hi @Benking116 and welcome to the Forums of HP

I'm sorry to hear you had problems of scanning your Officejet 8600 to your Mac in OS X 10.10, but I'm absolutely going to do my best to help!

If you open HP Scan on the computer, you are able to scan from there without problem (please refer to this document scan from OS X with HP full software functionality to see how to open the HP scanning software)? If so, I think you just have to activate the scanning to computer in the HP software. Please take a look at this Re: definition of Scan post and he will inform where to go in the HP utility choose Activate Scan to computer. After that is done, are you able to the printer to the computer?

If you are UNABLE to analyze through the HP scanning software, the issue could be just communication itself. In this case, try the steps in this document to the printer is not maintaining the wireless connection .

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 all-in-One connected as network printer loses connection

In December 2011, I bought a HP Officejet Pro 8600 all-in-One to replace an Officejet 6500 as my network printer home. The 6500 worked very well on my cable, but his screen did not, I tried some of the features offered by the 8600 and I got a good price on a new warehouse of BJ. I have the 8600 connected via ethernet (not wireless), with a static IP address. All my computers on the network are running Windows XP Pro SP3 and are up-to-date with Microsoft updates. However, from one day to the next my 8600 will lose connectivity scan (Scan of the computer shows it as being disabled on all my computers at the same time, and I can't reconnect), and if I do not have anything he'll (as in a few hours) also lose connectivity impression. The only way to restore connectivity is to uninstall the HP Officejet Pro 8600 device software basis of all computers, and then reinstall the printer. I had a phone conversation and two debates with HP Technical Support; They suggested that the problem is in the firewall on the computers (but if that were the case I don't think that the loss of connectivity would occur on all computers at the same time), the IP address setting (doesn't make sense) and the printer driver is not not the latest version. I tried all the suggestions, and none of them have solved the problem. The last counselor "has raised the issue to the next level", which proved to be a Manager with no technical expertise and his only suggestion was that I have to return the printer to the merchant. I think the problem is the firmware in the printer (which, according to the 'update' on the printer option, is the latest version). Any other suggestions or experience?

After a lot of research and find the settings that I did not know that Windows XP offered, I found that the following appear to have solved the problem I've known - at least the printer is now operational for more than 48 hours without losing printing or scan connection. Here are the steps I used:

    1. Start Control Panel  connections network and Internet

    2. Choose "network connections."

    3. Right click on "connect to the Local network.

    4. Choose "Properties".

    5. In the top window is the name of the Ethernet computer connection port, select "Configure" next to this window

    6. Select the tab labeled 'Power Management'

    7. Uncheck the box "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

    8. Select the "Advanced" tab

    9. Select the entry "power saving Mode".

    10. If this entry is set to change 'On' to 'Off '.

    11. Select 'OK', and then close the windows that were opened

  • Problem installing HP Officejet Pro 8600 - OJ860x64.msi

I have a problem installing the printer, when I am installing the printer disk in my computer, it shows

"The G:\OJ860x64.msi file is not a valid package for the HP Officejet Pro 8600 database software product. Try to find the OJ860x64.msi installation package in a folder which you can install the software from the HP Officejet Pro 8600 database. »

I'm trying to uninstall the base software of HP Officejet Pro 8600 it shows the same thing and then I press Cancel and shows

"The Installation Source for this product is not available. Make sure that the source exists and you have access. »

Someone knows how to fix this? How to uninstall the software?

I tried to download the driver and it still shows the same thing with the driver downloaded from the HP website.

This looks like a problem with Windows Installer. Go to the Microsoft website and search

"The problems with programs that cannot be installed or uninstalled" and you should get an automated fix program.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus the Scanner Software

    Hello

I'm a big fan of HP products.  My last several printers, scanners and computers were all HP.

I recently bought the HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus to replace an older machine with similar features (ADF, duplex, etc.).  The previous machine was also an HP printer.

The problem I encounter is that the software appears to have been downgraded.  The software on my previous machine had the ability to automatically analyze the photos laid on the flat bed scanner in individual jpg.  With the software on this computer, it seems that I need to manually crop each image.  The options for optimization of each picture, eliminating scratches, automatically adjust color, sharpness, etc. are all gone.

I really miss these features.  I found that I had been using a "basic" version of the software.  I installed the full version and found it a little different, but it still lacks the automatic selection of the image and image tweaks I did this inveterate of.

Is it possible to recover these options?

    Thank you

    -MrXmas

What I found there are some good options based on their comments, I'm not sure if they will have all the features you're looking for, but...

  • Printer HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus works but the Scanner does not

I recently bought a Toshiba laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.  My previous laptop is a Toshiba also upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.  I have a printer HP Officejet Pro 8600 more all-in-one printer.  The printer/scanner works fine with my laptop more older but with the new laptop that I can't get to the printer.  I am not able to get the scanner to work.  I reloaded the software several times but the scanner still does not work.  The scanner works fine with laptop more old, even if it has the same operating system.  I get an error message that says "Scan of the computer is turned on.  You can start a scan from the printer.  Your computer is not listed as an available computer control panel of the printer.  If please restart your printer and try again. "Can anyone help with this?

    Hi ranjisamaraweera,

Even though I'm MVP I represent Microsoft or speak. If I can and will speak
    as I think.

The proper functioning of the printer and Scanner is the direct responsibility of the producer of material
and no windows. There are hundreds of these devices that work correctly on Windows 7 if
those who don't have no drivers and other interfaces which are not compatible to Windows 7 should be
written correctly. Of course many older devices are not supported by their creators for later
Versions of Windows. Microsoft passes but does not write drivers and interfaces
Printers and Scanners need to function properly. So, the manufacturer and no one else, is totally
Manager to see if there are interfaces and appropriate drivers.

Many device makers do not write new drivers and interfaces for older hardware because either
they cannot support the new methods or because they want to sell new hardware.

Personally, I don't think that Microsoft is lying because they also say that device manufacturers have the
Omos unique to provide the necessary compatible drivers and interfaces.

    I hope this helps.

  • HP scanner not work on the new Officejet Pro 8600

    Hello

I have a brand new Officejet Pro 8600 Premium and a not scan using the HP scanning application.  When I click on the "Scan" button, I finally have a message that says "Sanner reported an error Impossible to log on to the device.  I am able to print without any problems.

I've updated all the software with the latest version from the HP website.  I'm on OS X Lion of the mountains (10.8).  I am also unable to perform a scan by using the picture Capture application in my folder of the application.  When I try to use this application, all the buttons are gray, so that I can not click on them.

    Thank you

    Chris

I was able to fix this on my own.  I discovered that SNMP has been disabled in the settings of the printer.  Once I enabled it, not only the scanner started to operate via HP Scan, but the HP utility has been able to identify and change the settings of the printer, where before it only showed the printer as 'unknown '.

  • N911a HP Officejet Pro 8600 error scanner cannot communicate with the computer.

Original title: is anyone has the sweep of HP Officejet Pro 8600 n911a problems when you use Windows 7 Pro?

Just bought this laptop of HP Pavilion dv6-7138us, and had the updated operating system upgraded to Windows 7 Pro, directed by Office Depot until I take possession.  The all-in-one HP Officejet Pro 8600 n911a (bought a few months ago) will be analyzed to this laptop.  I can't access "managing the scan of the computer."  When I try to open the scanner of the icon, the message begins with "scanner cannot communicate with the computer."  I was on the HP support forum, tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver, even tried to download the driver on the net, you run printing HP & scan doctor, tried all disconnect them reconnect restart options, all without success.  The functions of printer normally with this laptop and the printer function scanner AND correctly on other two laptops running Windows XP Pro.  Which makes me suspect that this is a problem Windows 7 Pro.  Could this be just?

    Hello

    1. you have any security program installed on the computer?

2 did you a recent software or changes to the material on the computer?

    Method 1:

I suggest you to disable any anti-virus program and check if the problem persists.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

NOTE: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2:

You can also run the printer Troubleshooter and check if it helps.

    Open the printer Troubleshooter

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-printer-Troubleshooter

    Method 3:

I also suggest to try to run the System File Checker scan on the computer. The scan will replace all the Windows files corrupted with new ones.

Click on the link mentioned below for further guidance on the scanning of the file system Checker

  • OfficeJet pro 8600 vertical black lines printing when you use the scanner/copier of SMA

I have an Officejet Pro 8600 Plus model N911g that I got a year out of warranty. Worked perfectly until this week when I scanned approximately 50 pages through the ADM.  During the process of digitisation of the black vertical lines began to appear on documents that are scanned or print (color or BW) through the ADM.  Scanning or printing directly from the scanner glass is not the problem.

I checked, cleaned and cleaned all (rolls, strip scanning, scanning glass) it is possible via the information provide in these forums from other veins knows on their production lines.  No change...

I unplugged the printer all the network and fax cables and tried scanning or copying with the power of the device, NO CHANGE.  Don't know what the next step might be other than the factory reset (don't have documentation on this process).  Additional suggestions would be appreciated.
