  Each executable is running in its own instance of the application - if one of them crashing will not cause the other crash * except * it is based on a shared resource or a shared component of NOR - for example if your program crashes because they use shared variables and blocks shared variable engine, then you will have problems.

  We often run two or three applications in tandem - the only time that we had a problem was when there was a problem with .NET that has caused so much crash.

  Your catalog will remain that is after that proceed to Lightroom 6 and all your changes will be kept however, you will not be able to apply dehaze more edits since that option would be eliminated.

  I expect that the data are still there, and if needed, I can remove the VMDK and re - attach the new LUNS as RDM.. But I can't find any official information on this.

  Your wait is quite correct. The data on the raw LUN will not get affected once it is converted to a virtual machine. Only the mapping of RDM file is deleted and the LUN becomes available, and you can use card or again as an RDM or to create a VMFS data on that store.

  Newspapers would continue to be logged locally, while the VMAs was not available.  Make sure that you also set up the Syslog.Local.DatastorePath, so that you don't lose anything.  See KB 1033696 for more information.
