What is SLOW-PCfighter?

I now have this pop up on my dell latitude.  I bought a photo program and camera from walgreens, maybe it comes from that.  But it bothers me if he'd just sceme phishing or spam.  Is - this legitamite?  Claims it will help my computer run better.

Considering that this discussion is more than a year I close it. See an article about potentially unwanted programs HERE.

If you have a similar question, thank you for posting a new topic at the top of this forum or an answer in the topic SpywareHammer potentially unwanted programs (PUP).

    Right now, I don't think that he described as malware, spam or phishing. That said, it seems that it requires a subscription after the trial period. If you insist on the use of a registry cleaner there are free options that we offer you if you are interested. However, I do not support the use of what we call "registry cleaners" because they can aggravate a situation and take measures, we are manually updated on many times.  It is better not to rely on these programs, if you don't know what is happening with the proposed fix and the registry. Otherwise, a change in the registry can make a system that no longer starts due to an error.

    Here are a few good discussions:

    Please tell us what means "slow"? The slowness is he (put a number
    in this regard, even if approximate)? Under what circumstances is it slow?
    From? Some programs (which ones?)? All programs? on the
    Internet? Be as specific as possible.

    What edition of Vista are you running? What material is your computer? A
    It has always been slow, or is this something new? If the last, when you
    It starts, and what you change at this time?

    These days there are two common reasons for slow computer:

    1. Malware infection. What anti-virus and anti-spyware programs
    run? If they are updated?

    2. it may be because of what programs start up automatically and you can
    you want to stop some of them to start this way. On each program you
    don't want to automatically start, check its Options to see if it has
    the choice of not start (make sure that you choose the option not
    for the run, not simply an option "do not display the icon"). Many can easily and
    better be stopped like this. If this does not work, run MSCONFIG from the
    Start | Run the line and on the Startup tab, uncheck the programs you
    don't want to start automatically.
    However, if I were you, I wouldn't do it just for the application of
    the minimum number of running programs. Despite what many people say
    You should be concerned, not with the way that a lot of these programs
    you run, but who. Some of them can degrade performance severely, but
    others have no effect on performance.

    Don't stop all programs to run willy-nilly. What you need to do
    is to determine what each program is, what its value is up to you which
    the performance cost is its running all the time. You can get
    more information on the latter with research on the internet and ask questions on
    Specifications here.

    Once you have this information, you can make a smart informed
    decision on what you want to keep and what you want to get rid of.

  • MacBook pro 2011 very slow to load anything, download applications, installation of El Capitan...

    I am a computer scientist, to work on a Macbook Pro 9.2 A1286 2010 client; I found first of all that it would not recognize the HD. Then, of course, first a PRAM reset.

    Still no hard drive. So I ran Apple Hardware Diags, he finds that everything was fine... but he did not check the drive, because he did not either.

    So I swapped the HD for the nine existing. Still no joy. Then, I tried the optical drive SATA port using a trolley car, and it worked.

    So, now I think to myself, I just need to replace the original HDD SATA cable.

    But in the meantime, I now use this optical drive SATA port to install an operating system.

    So I'm intstalling El Capitan... and he's going VERY slowly... said 27 minutes left, then after even 30 minutes, it says 26 remaining minutes... even for every minute of time estimated to the left. Hours trying to install what should move a lot more quickly. Two SATA ports run at the same speed, so that wouldn't make any difference.

    I have about 20 + Mbps download speed, and I d/l El Cap several times before on this same bandwidth and it goes as one might expect.

    Also, I noticed in trying to engage around all preparation of the installation, everything seemed to be in slow motion, with a lot of time-outs of spinning, before of the OS responds... even trying just to get the pop down menu, etc. It is a system with no operating system, just off the coast of the temp install DVD or USB operating system installed.

    The summary is that something in the firmware seems to be wrong. I find that there is a SMC and EFI up-to-date, but who can not install without the latest OS, so the attempt to d/l El CAP.

    I'm looking for light bulbs go out there as to what might slow down this computer that doesn't even have a hard drive running an OS yet?

    Thanks in advance for any input you may have.

  • What happened to my Mac?

    Hi, I can see there are a large number of threads on here about what could all boil down to the same problem, none of them seem to offer a clear explanation, or better yet a resolution.  I have an iMac 2011 with 3 TB Drive merger and all the bells and whistles that I use personally and for business.  I run parallels (11) I develop applications on Linux and Windows.  It was my first Mac and I love it.  However, given that I upgraded to El Capitan, things were not so wonderful.  My old Windows 7 VM, became very slow to respond when once it was lightning fast.  My installation of Windows 10, well... I would have written it even if it is booting.  I run no more than 1 VM at a time, unless I need for interoperability, as I tend to point applications on a laptop I keep clean for these purposes.  I clean my mac installed, but it's the only one of the garbage I have.  I don't pretend to know much about Mac, although I do not understand the underlying architecture, having worked with AIX, HP - UX, SPARC and Linux in the past.

    I can't grasp what might slow down this magnificent beast.

    Can anyone help?

    Can someone tell me how I might be able to get off at Yosemite?

    Your help would be much appreciated.

  • my java is slow, can someone help me please?

    IM in trouble with my java, trying to get it to let me in runescape, where I have a level of combat in the triple digits, his (java) version 6 update 16, its slow, well that's an understatement, a snail moves faster than my java,.

    I'll try to give a description of what's going on:

    I am back in my profile and play the game of runescape, and a few months ago, I had no problem whatsoever, the downloaded java applets in a timely way and I could connect, as when I was on DIALUP only faster due to high speed, I am on and have been for awhile (ive used this connection high-speed play and no problem at all)
    A few days ago, I want to get back and play even more and that's where I came across nothing trouble:
    I thought that it worked not at all and it makes me think that its slow, is that when I wait for HOURS , I get the red bar that claims to "runescape is loading, please wait" and it shows some progress, but like I said its extremely slow, I saw dust collect more quickly,

    and because what his slow, he ended up giving me a message saying that it is a bad script "a script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding." You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script ends
    script://chrome/global/content/bindings/browser.XML:0

    and it offers the possibility of "stop script" or "continue".

    Ive done everything I could think of, I've used the same version (6 update 7) that I had before, Ive updated my current version, deleted the old version, I did a search of spybot and destroy the scan with the latest version and even checked the updates on this first, I was with seamonkey, but what that leaves me ,

    I downloaded firefox and tried it in internet explorer, all 3 have had no success and even tried the customer of rs who use ie, and nothing works, ive checked to make sure that java is enabled that is, ive checked my java to see if his work and the Web site says java it is, Ive updated my graphics driver restarted the pc, rebooted the modem, ive done everything I could think of, but I can't understand why my java, which ALLOWS to run at an adequate pace is not slowed to a crawl.
    There are others on the runescape forums who encounter the same problem, although there are others who play and have no problems at all.
    anyone here have an idea which can do this to me? and how to fix it?

    feralfreak,
    Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.  While looking into this issue, I found that the current version of Java is 6 update 16.  So, I would start by installing this version.  Here is a link to the help section of RuneScape that has some great troubleshooting steps. http://www.runescape.com/kbase/GUID/the_game_won_t_load

  • What is the reason for the slowdown of my computer when I open the heavy software or video game HD? (read the details of this problem)

    IM using windows xp service pack 3.  whenever I open a heavy software on xp, which crisscross the movie hd, game play as nfs most wanted, slow down the computer starts. every time that I discovered the video that is larger than 2 min on youtube on 360 or more depth, it slows down my computer.
    I have to ride every time, I have to put on the stand mode every time and again, I have to come to the screen where worked. I have been on the computer for 2 hours I have market and shut down my pc every time what pc slows down.
    There was no this problem, I was faced with when I buy a pc. but this problem starts from June 2012, im facing this problem every day.
    When I ask the local store (computer scientist), he told me to format the xp and install it again.
    I know that the formatting every time is not the solution to the problem. because I had formatted my pc several times, but this dosent problem solved. And there is no chance of virus in the pc, because I invested my money in total security from bitdefender which is updated each time software.
    so, my question is what is the problem to my pc? is this hardware or software problem?  What will be a solution to this issue?

    Do you have the Windows Desktop Search installed issue?

    Your Firefox is way outdated, then you need to update Firefox (help on Firefox).

    My version is 16.0.1

    Your msinfo32 says your NVIDIA card:

    6.14.11.8634 driver version

    To translate for the NVIDIA speak, you shift the decimal point so that it becomes:

    186.34 (your is out-of-date)

    NVIDIA says that your version of the driver should be 308.61

    I visit the page of NVIDIA GeForce Driver and let scan them driver online take a look at your system and if they offer you a update, take it, install it, reboot and recheck your video diver version and it should look like this:

    6.14.13.0861 driver version    (that's what mine said too)

    Download the NVIDIA site here:

    http://www.GeForce.com/drivers

    Reboot and double check the versions and see what things look like.

  • Why Windows 7 extremely slow on your laptop just multitasking ordinary?

    Okay, so it is a mystery to me. I'm a tech guy, btw.

    The scenario: I use a little old laptop with 2 GB of RAM. Have virtual memory turned on,

    In ADDITION, have a very fast USB plugged into USB 2.0 and implemented with 4 GB ReadyBoost.

    Using Windows 7 and this notebook can handle.

    Normally, the laptop works very well and is sensitive with place for 4-5 open applications. However, recently,.

    When I open several pages in a browser, it will slow down abruptly to the point where it takes 30-60 seconds

    Press the close button on a page and see my click and everything is not responding. I'm not talking about slowing down a bit,

    I want to talk about a sharp slowdown in the overall system which lasts 10 to 20 minutes, until what I managed to close some windows,

    each takes about a minute to close. Then it accelerates again.

    I checked the memory usage, and my programs use not yet 2 GB of physical RAM when this slowdown happens! But even if the

    pagefile is written it there is no way that this should make Windows so brutally fails. In addition, I have too many 4 gigs of readyboost.

    Something is very wrong with that and I'm curious as to why this phenomenon occurs and how can I solve it?

    No I don't have any spyware, as I said I'm a tech person, this is the basis. I know all this,

    It's something to do with the way Windows is not able to be managed properly.

    An overview of what on Earth is happening here would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

    IE uses a lot of resources, especially CPU is what you slow down as only
    have 2 GB of physical RAM. ReadyBoost can help, however, this is only disc (caching speeds
    reading on the rise) and is not a replacement for real RAM.

    Think about it an absolute must - manually update your drivers.

    Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

    This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

    This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded: run DriverView - set
    SEE drivers to hide Microsoft - update those without drain in their names. (Also
    updated the BIOS and drivers from the chipset on the site of the constructor/the system motherboard).

    -Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded
    on your system. For each driver in the list, additional useful information is
    Poster: load address of the driver, description, version, product name,.
    company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

    For drivers, visit Maker as replacements and system manufacturer of device which are
    the most recent. Control Panel - write - graphics card - device manager
    the brand and complete model of your video card - double click - tab of the driver-
    Note the version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this can do nothing
    MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
    This will refresh the driver stack.

    Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard
    If there are 3rd party with their own software and drivers and the other main device drivers
    you have.

    Now, go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restore)
    and site (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get the manufacturer and device
    their latest versions. (Look for the system to update the BIOS, Chipset and software updates
    Site of the manufacturer here.)

    Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN -.
    REBOOT after each installation.

    Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you are
    installation actually appears. This is because that some rollback of drivers before the
    later is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a driver - reboot.
    Make sure that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

    Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW to the device makers DO NOT RUN THEIR
    SCANNER - check manually by model.

    Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

    Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using
    the above methods is preferable to ensure the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system
    and device manufacturers are located)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

    If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable driver facilities
    in the updates of Windows, which leaves on Windows updates, but it will not be installed
    pilots who are generally older and cause problems. If updates provides a new
    driver then hide it (right click on it) and then go get new ones manually if
    you want.

  • Hundreds of "Microsoft ISATAP Adapter" s in interfaces, slow down some networking applications

    Hello

    Recently, I noticed that some Java applications on my computer take a long time to start: at startup, the grip of the application within about 20 seconds, while the Task Manager indicates that the "javaw.exe" process takes 25% CPU usage (I'm on a quad-core processor, then that would mean that the process of one of them is fully) at the end of the duration of block applications finally starts and then normally works (and the CPU usage decreases). However, this long startup time is annoying when development/debugging Java applications.

    Make debugging, I could see that what was slowing down applications is a method of the Java API called 'getNetworkInterfaces' that retrieves the list of available network interfaces. Running a test program showed me that this method has found more than 1,000 network interfaces (!) on my system, which most is labeled "Microsoft ISATAP Adapter". Apparently, this method is called at the beginning of these Java applications, for reasons that I have not always figured out.

    Did some other research, I found that this method calls a Windows API 'GetIfTable"( MSDN documentation ) function: runs the C++ test program still shows the same number of interfaces (~ 1 000), with all the"Microsoft ISATAP adapter' s. as a result, the problem is probably not due to lack of Java; It's just more noticeable on Java applications, because Java must create a NetworkInterface object for each of these interfaces.

    Still more research to show that it is a known problem in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008. The question now is: how to remove these "Microsoft ISATAP cards?" They do not appear in the devices, or using DevCon Manager as suggested on other forums. So far, I have not found a satisfactory answer.

    Here are a few links relating to the issue, this could enlighten us:

    This seems to be the issue as described in the base, Microsoft technical support, but he mentions "6to4 adapter" not "maps ISATAP.

    This user in the forums TechNet has the same problem (multiple interfaces, network do not appear in Device Manager, can't get them off with DevCon) but the wire provided no real answers. It would also be interesting to know where getIfTable retrieves network information: apparently is not in the registry.

    Finally, the most interesting link is one that also describes the issue (if it is on Windows Server) and mentions the effect on Java programs. He described a solution mentioning a tool "NDISCLEANUP" but I can't find it anywhere. Where can I get this tool?

    Hello

    Thanks for the reply.

    According to the description I would recommend that you post the question on the Windows 7 IT Pro forums for assistance.

  • Creative cloud slows down my computer

    Hello

    Screen Grab 1: Time, I woke up my Mac (09: 28:52)

    Creative-Cloud-1.jpg

    Screen Grab 2: Image of Sync still running an hour and ten minutes after that my computer has woken up!

    When my MAC wakes first, and CC tries to run, it slows down the right of the computer. Trying to run what is slow, but launch anything that connects to the internet (browser/email) gets badly done!

    I checked my activity monitor...

    Creative-Cloud-2.jpg

    Screen Grab 3: Shows the use of the processor (in percentage) where my computer was first wakes up.

    Screen Grab 4: Shows the CPU usage after Firefox and Mail ended launch and the core of the CPU usage is a CC Adobe software.

    Screen Grab 5: Indicates consumption of energy by my computer, new CC is upstairs.

    Screen Grab 6: Is my settings. At the speed of transfer of 100%, I have no chance of any other connection to the internet at startup. 75%-100% during the working day it slows down my computer if I am trying to update the browser, while he was working on a Web site, and CC is something synchronization attempt. I have a 50MB connection.

    I have been informed that sync is sometimes a bit weird if the computer has been stopped during a synchronization. I usually check the blue transfer the arrows are not in the top bar, meaning CC is not synchronized. I also use a HP laptop and it is all too slow there when he wakes up first of all, although not too bad, only about 10 minutes waiting.

    It seems to be a major problem with CC to get IT done by someone to turn off their computer. In order to always try to connect and run more than an hour after the computer has been awakened is ridiculous! It has not always connected (11:09)!

    I just can't use it any more and switch to Dropbox, turning off Sync and just using CC for updating applications. It has the potential to be a great and useful application, but fell short with his excessive CPU and energy consumption. The fact that if you turn it off during a synchronization, he throws his toys out of the pram is bad. People will often have to do, for example work on a train and the connection is lost during synchronization, or they need to close the lid of your laptop to get off the train quickly.

    It took until 11:20 to connect and synchronize, almost 2 hours after my computer started!

    Another issue is he says: 'some files impossible to sync' on the MAC, but the same files on the PC CC are fine? What is everything?

    Creative-Cloud-3.jpg

    "All the files" on the left are the PC this morning. "Some cannot synchronize files" is the MAC this morning, exactly the same files. The files are the "_notes" that produces your product, Dreamweaver. BUT, as you can see from the screenshot below, some "_notes" folders are marked green and some red exclamation points! Why? How the names of file folders to be OK and NOT OK? Fortunately this is an old site, I should remove from CC, I no longer guard _notes' because of this problem.

    Specifications (although I had different MACS with higher specifications and it still happens):

    Mac Mini (late 2014)

    OS X El Capitan 10.11.3

    2.6 GHz Intel Core i5

    8 GB memory

    Iris 1536 MB Intel graphics card

    1 TB Sata Drive (852 GB free space)

    HP Pavilion 17G015NA laptop

    10 64-bit Windows Home

    Intel Core i5

    2.2 GHz

    8 GB memory

    1 TB of disk (816 GB of free space)

    I had a major problem the other day. CC finally synchronized, so I thought and has started working on a site and transferred my files, with the new Foundation 6 scripts. Not realizing he had not really synchronized and the files I'm downloading came from the day before and not the previous night - when I was working on them on my laptop. I had to start my laptop, trying to stop him immediately synchronization, so that I can download the latest files form the previous night, then upload them to my local folder on my Mac. It is unfortunately the only way I know for sure that I have the latest files on each computer. Download them from the server I can't trust what has been synchronized by CC. It surely beats the purpose of the CC, in what it is supposed to allow users to access the same files on each machine. I can't wait for nearly two hours for CC to sync my MAC with what I worked the day before on the HP. It slows down my computer and makes it unusable for about 15-20 minutes.

    Please let me know when you sort Adobe.

    See you soon

  • Acrobat Pro XI Java: Removal of Page is very slow

    Hello world

    Here is a set of code that I had working in Acrobat XI to pull up a popup window which, when the user selects Yes, is able to search a keyword hidden on some pages in the PDF file and then delete the corresponding pages.  It works, but the problem is that it takes almost a minute to treat.  I'd love to someone entered for what might slow the process down.  I am very new to Java specific suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you in advance,

    Hello world

    After review of this topic, I realized a solution.  So I hope that someone in my situation can benefit in the future!

    * A brief summary, I had an interactive PDF application where multiple pages are "generated" when some options (check boxes) are selected.  When the items are deselected, I needed a way to get these pages on the document.  Research of the approach of the nth Word worked, but it is become very slow, especially as the PDF has grown larger.  The approach below you will remove the pages having engineered very quickly a document based on a button/field value and can be adjusted accordingly.

    As follows:

    1. Somewhere in the document (not on the template, unless you make sure that the domain names are static when created) create a field text and format to store the numbers with decimal places to zero .  It's your container (so, for example, I named it CHES container).
    2. Then go into the model that needs to be created at a later date. In the page toolbar, right click on your model page and go to properties > Actions
    3. For select trigger, choose "Open Page"; For select Action, choose "Run a Java Script"
    4. Paste and modify the following script:

    -----------------------------------------

    var p = this.pageNum;

    Console.println (p);

    this.getField("CHES_Container").value = p;

    -----------------------------------------

    5. This action will say your model page, when, created to identify its own page number and place it in the "container", which once again, for me, is called "CHES container.

    NOTE: Check to be sure your container shows a number, and that it is accurate.  Later, you can hide this field, but for now, it is useful to find errors that may occur.

    6. click OK and click on the button (checkbox etc.) that will trigger the removal of these specific pages.

    7. go in field properties > Actions.  For select trigger choose "Mouse Up"; For select Action, choose "Run a Java Script"

    8 paste and modify the following script:

    -----------------------------------------

    var p = this.getField("CHES_Container").value;

    this.deletePages ({start: p, nEnd: p + 2});

    -----------------------------------------

    NOTE: nEnd: p + 2 adds just 2 pages to the start range.  So just change accordingly based upon the number of pages given birth there are requiring deletion.

    As a tip, my relaxation complete box script was:

    -----------------------------------------

    Var SHEETS = this.getField ("CHES Check");

    var CHES1 = this.getTemplate ("CHES Pg1");

    var CHES2 = this.getTemplate ("CHES Pg2");

    var CHES3 = this.getTemplate ("CHES Pg3");

    var p = this.getField("CHES_Container").value;

    If (ches. Value is "Yes")

    {

    CHES1. Spawn();

    CHES2. Spawn();

    CHES3. Spawn();

    }

    on the other

    {

    this.deletePages ({start: p, nEnd: p + 2});

    }

    -----------------------------------------

    Please let me know if I missed something or if you have any questions!  Thanks again to everyone for your feedback and patience.

  • Very slow system 11.5.10.2

    Hussein,

    Collect the schema statistics program was expected yesterday and has not finished, so I cancelled it, which will cause to the performance.

    System is running very slow.

    Please advice.

    Thank you
    Prince

    Prince.

    What is your version of the database and operating system?

    What is slow? Forms/reports/DB/Apache... etc?

    Did you recently change?

    You can find errors in the database log file?

    Have you tried to bounce the services (if possible) and see if that helps? You can stop the CM at least for the time being and monitor performance.

  • Beta 3 - ide slow movement of keyboard

    I use FB 3 autonomous beta 3. I'm trying to convert a fairly large control ActiveX written in Delphi to Flex. I wrote myself a converter that will convert to the basic syntax of the delphi source code, and then I manually do the rest. Now, I am doing this since before the FB 3 is out. All of a sudden with the 3 beta I noticed huge delays when you move the cursor around a .as file that has many syntax errors. It's awful. Basically, you right > right-> right > wait 5 seconds-> right-> right-> right - wait 5 seconds more. He me down and only slows down really started after the beta 3.

    I tried to disable various syntactic stuff, but it doesn't seem to help.

    BTW, someone doesn't like the new feature "highlight each occurrence of the current symbol. I thought that maybe that was what was slowing down so I turned it off the coast, but who knows, maybe it still does it backstage because he helped.

    In addition, when it's all this waiting, my CPU 50% stakes. I have hyperthreading so that a complete virtual CPU.
    If anyone has any ideas on a solution workaround, I'd love to hear it.

    Hi markdemich,.

    You can use the highlighter icon in the toolbar to turn Occurrences "Mark." Also, this feature will be disabled by default in future releases. We have done some work of performance for special cases, but if you have a case that is slow, please connect has a bug in our bug system http://bugs.adobe.com/flex public so that we can track down or check if we have solved it already.

    To me it seems that there is a program or task that can not shut down properly.

    How to see what program slowed down the process of closing?
