What is superfetch? Its in my sTask window manager and he uses a lot of CPU power... .do I need it and what is?

The program is placed in my Windows Task Manager and takes a lot of CPU power, and I wonder what use it perhaps can cause? my CPU usage was 100% and my antivirus uses only 5%.

"Superfetch" and "The host Windows Services" take so much CPU power on i3, 3 gb Sony Vaio!

SuperFetch is a Windows service that is designed to accelerate the launch of the app by preloading some applications based on your usage patterns. Tune-up blog has a good explanation of what it does.

However, it should not be maxing out your CPU all the time. If it slows down your computer, you can try to disable it.

To turn off:
Open the Start Menu.
Type "services" and press ENTER.
SuperFetch. search in the list and right click > properties
Set the startup type to disabled, and then click the Stop button to stop the service
Click Ok

You want to make sure that your antivirus software is up to date and your computer is clean.

How can I activate my Desktop Windows Manager?

    Hello

Click Start, type services.msc and press . Click on continue in the UAC prompt. Scroll down to the Desktop Windows Manager, and double-click it. There should be an option to restart on the first tab. If the problem persists, go to the Recovery tab and set the actions of first and second "restart the service".

  • Convenience store said Aero "Desktop Window Manager" must be activated, but it does not show how the help section? Convenience store told to look elsewhere for help.

Convenience store Aero says that my 'Desktop Window Manager' was disabled, so I couldn't change my themes (I also suddenly lost 'glass').  But how to activate or activate 'Desktop Window Manager' and - the most galling - why didn't he appears in the help section?  Convenience store said he can help me and look elsewhere for help.

Last changes: I did a clean install of Windows 7.  I turned off last night (everything works OK), and then it works again this morning :(

I found the solution here - will post here just in case someone else gets this problem:

go to the Control Panel and search for Services , under Administrative Tools , go to Services .

go to the bottom of the window and you will find Desktop Window Manager Session Manager, right-click to choose from (including rebooting).

PC restart and re - activate the Aero theme.

  • IM using Windows XP Profesional, can I upgrade to Windows 7 and what would be the cost?

upgrade windows xp to windows 7

IM using windows xp profesional can I upgrade to windows 7 and what would be the cost? what I have to put all my files on an external drive then uninstall windows xp then put in windows 7 then put back my files? is that how its done? Thank you.

First the cost, you must know if your hardware can support Windows 7

In General win 7 should a minimum og 1 gig of ram (for 32 bit) or 2 for 64-bit, and it needs a video card 256 MB or greater.

If your less and can not be updated it may be best to start thinking about a new computer.

If the above is ok there are various offers for win 8, but make sure you buy form a reliable site of Ms.  There are a lot of current scams.

  • What is the difference between Windows XP and Windows Vista?

    Hello

I do not exactly know what research or information sites I'm going to ask about my computer. It came to my attention somehow they know my browser etc. He would state that you use 'Windows Vista' and all the factors thast go hand in hand.  My question... If I have Windows XP How can I also have Windows Vista? I've always had Windows XP-2000...  They are the same or equal? I thought they were two separate.

Another question... Internet Explorer is an 'operating system' and Windows is a browser? Is this correct? I get confused on both.

    Thank you for your support

Windows Vista is a more recent version of Microsoft Windows than Windows XP.  Windows 7 is the current version of Microsoft Windows with Windows 8 to be released soon.  Get a brief overview:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/history
    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Microsoft_Windows

You have not, "Windows Vista also".  You have probably one or the other, and perhaps a corruption in your current system is originally a misreport on some web pages.

Discover what operating system you use:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/help/which-version-of-the-Windows-operating-system-am-i-running

After that, we will understand what Internet Explorer browser (just a simple web browser, such as Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome, etc) you are running:
While in Internet Explorer, press ALT from your keyboard and while holding this button down (hold it down) also press the 'H' key on your keyboard.  This should indicate the "Help" menu in which you will find the choices 'A connection of Internet Explorer'.  Release the keys you pressed on and choose that.

You can report both of these things here.

If you want even MORE information about your computer, I suggest running and results of this free program to print: Belarc Advisor.  Its output (this is a web link) will provide you with detailed hardware and software on your system information.

First of all, in my opinion, this operating system is already installed
No matter, for the following reason:

If I bought a used computer, no matter who previously owned, the first thing I have with it would be to reinstall the operating system itself. You don't know how the computer has been maintained,
which has been improperly installed, what's missing, what virus and
There may be spyware, etc. I would not live with someone of another errors and problems, possibility of kiddy p0rn, etc, and I would not recommend anyone else to do.
If you reinstall Windows properly, you are playing with fire.

Second, you must decide which version of Windows you want to
install. Although you didn't, because you posted in Windows XP
Forum, is that what you want to install XP? If Yes, let me point out that
Windows XP has been interrupted, and find a copy for sale is now
very difficult, except for a place like eBay. and if you buy it on
eBay, you run the risk that you will get a pirated copy
you will not be able to activate.

Third, you must determine what that the hardware configuration of the
the machine and determine whether it is adequate for any version
Windows you want to install. An old machine like a race
Windows 2000 is most likely insufficient for any version of
    Windows.

And fourth, you may need drivers for some of the material in the
machine for the version of Windows Installer. And with such an old
machine, there is a good chance that there's no such thing as the drivers you need.

What all this boils down to is the real possibility that you
actually can't do anything with this machine without replacing the
the majority of its material. And they can be economic to something
do; you could save money and be better off buying a new machine that
    by doing this.

  • Pavilion a6530f: what video card installed works for Windows 10 and a 300W power supply?

I have a6530f a desktop Pavilion PC.  I am currently running Windows 7 and am interested in upgrading to Windows 10.  I get and error message when you try to install the W10.  "NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430".  I think I need to improve my video card.  Can what video card I install that will work for Windows 10 and is rated for the power supply 300W in my lap?  I'm not very techie.

Many of these inexpensive graphics cards for Newegg.com should work with Windows 10. Just watch for those who require a 300 watt power supply system or less.

Drivers for these cards may be on the page drivers GeForcefunds. Simply select the card in the drop-down list or use the "Auto-Detect".
