Upgrade to Vista Ultimate

How can I upgrade my Vista to Vista Ultimate? I already have the product key for Vista Ultimate. I tried to run the Windows Anytime Upgrade, but it seems that I still have to buy something on the site. What should I do?

Hello

To upgrade to Vista Ultimate, you will need the Vista Ultimate Upgrade or Full edition DVD, this media must have came with product key license you own. If you purchased your product key at any time to upgrade, they will provide you with the media needed to do.

    Hello

already made an update of the BIOS? It would be useful, maybe it s just because the BIOS does not correctly handle the Ultimate. What drivers did you download?

It s a bit tricky, but I think that if you reinstall, and then put the drivers on it, it should work. Don't forget: Vista Ultimate needs a lot of resources and a bunch of useless stuff that can cause the machine does not properly.

I've upgraded to Vista Ultimate Home and now my Webcam does not work. When I tried to update the driver, I get a message that says that Windows has encountered a problem installing the software driver for your device...

The installation file forthis training device is missing a necessary entry. Maybe it's because the file INF was written for Windows 95 or later. Contact your hardware vendor.

I succumbed to find the drivers on the Chicony website. My laptop is a Satellite P205-S6257 and the Toshiba is not yet display on their support site. I don't have a disk for webcam.

  • Upgrade to Vista Ultimate does not

    Hello

I had a vista Home premium pc upgrade to vista Ultimate edition (32-bit) without years number 1 or 2.

Last week, I had a pc crash and had to reset the PC with the factory settings.  Of course, windows update asked a lot of updates and now I have vista Home premium sp2. But when I want to use the anytime upgrade vista ultimate SP1 dvd, it tells me that the option is no longer possible.

is it because I already have SP2? Should I go back to SP1 to enable the upgrade option?

Or am I forced to buy windows 7 ultimate upgrade for an ultimate version?

It would be really unfair. Once, I bought vista ultimate version, I should be able to have a way to upgrade to vista Ultimate edition, without having to switch to windows 7 just top get the vista ultimate features.

Thanks for letting me know my options.

    Regis.

    Uninstall SP2.

Read the General info on your problem:

On your installed operating system Service Pack level cannot be greater than what is on the disk to upgrade.

Click Start > right click on computer > properties > system > it will tell you which SP you have installed.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/948537

"How to uninstall Windows Vista service packs"

If the OS installed Service Pack 2 and Service Pack 1 upgrade disk > uninstall SP2 installed operating system > install the upgrade > reinstall SP2.

  • Dell Inspiron 1721 Win 7 ultimate upgrade on Vista ultimate. ATI Raid driver problems.

I install Win 7 Ultimate on Windows Vista Ultimate Edition for my sister.  Although I am appalled by his duty to pay 200 more of the money it has paid to buy Vista Ultimate (for which she won Bitlocker and the possibility to join the areas, I have the following problem: she has a lot to gain a little and there are still problems in the installation of the OS.)  It would be good, at least, since it paid the price to have copies of the disks him were sent and more download (which I work with)

I am trying to install the upgrade from 32-bit to Windows 7 on my laptop Dell Inspiron 1721 and I get an error that says I need to update my ATI AHCI Compatible RAID Driver. I went into the device drivers update as described in the instructions and tried to update the driver but it says I have the latest version of the driver for it. So I tried to restart my laptop and represented the upgrade installation and received the same error message.

Can you advise me on how to solve the problem.  She has spent a lot of money and, at least, deserves to make it work!

  • Installation to upgrade Windows Vista Ultimate Service Desk on a pc Home Premium

The bad news is, my sweet 3 year old 32-bit HP laptop (under home Premium), is dead, disastrously, this morning, after which a critical backup has not... my head turns... The GOOD news is that now I have the ability to clean install my new "Windows Vista Ultimate SERVICE DESK Upgrade"... Unfortunately... I can't understand... It won't let me "ipgrade" even on a restored factory pc... I counted "clean install", but am completely confused by the options window (& or not I'm sure using this software...) I checked before I bought & used to say that it works very well on this laptop...) ... In any case, I get the window & the following choices: * "Disk 0 Partition #1 (C) - Total size 221,1 GB, free Go 186,3 > & > * '0 Partition 2 HP Recovery Disk' - Total Size 11.8 GB, free space 1.4 GB / / / I do not understand the partitions or anything on this operation & need instructions...» I KNOW that this software is SUPPOSED to work properly... & of course, I don't want to go without it... • upgrade to VISTA Ultimate after installation of the Home Basic

I had a hard drive crash and when I did the clean install I use the recovery disc for Vista EDITION family Basic.  I now have the recovery disc for VISTA Ultimate. The TWO sets of disks are OEM Lenovo/IBM ThinkPad 32 bit system. It is a long shot. Is it possible to upgrade to Ultimate without losing all my installed programs and data? In addition, Lenovo has no clue! Thankx in advance. Phil

    Hello

recovery disks normally do a clean install, wipe the hard drive clean during the process

you need a system of operating vista runing to do an upgrade that will not make a recovery disk

and recovery disks are related to the particular brand and model number

    they are not interchangeable

  • Fingerprint reader HP HDX16 and two other drivers not detected after an upgrade to Vista Ultimate.

    Hello.

Recently, I upgraded my HP Windows Vista Home Edition of Windows Vista Ultimate Edition HDX16 model (quite a 'new installation' upgrade.) Since then I've been doing a handful of drivers went unnoticed in the Device Manager. Keep in mind that the unpacking, all devices in the computer worked as it should.

I downloaded all the drivers on the site of HP drivers, and these drivers are not detected. This led me to the relization that I might have to do a destructive reinstall of my OS, back to Vista Home edition. This would make Vista Ultimate completely a waste. Very restless indeed. I contacted a representitve HP, and he identified my problem: drivers preinstalled on the computer are adapted to the Windows Vista Home delivered pre-installed on my computer. However, he could not help me solve the problem.

As a last resort, I tried a program called Driver Genius for backing up the computer a friend (who purched the same exact model, with Vista Ultimate pre installed,) drivers. This corrected a lot of the unknown devices, but I'm still left with three unknowns. I'm quite positive that one is the fingerprint reader. He refuses to be detected on start-up, and what is installing digital persona personal.

Here is the run down on the three unknowns:

    1.

    Manufacturer: unknown

Location: On bridge PCI standard ISA

    2.

    Manufacturer: unknown

Location: On the Microsoft ACPI-complaints system

    3.

    Manufacturer: unknown

    Location: Port_ #0001.Hub_ #0005

    I tried to install DigitalPersona.

I tried to reinstall Digital Persona.

I tried to repair Digital Persona.

I tried to perform a clean installation of Digital Persona (uninstall, reboot, reinstall).

I tried to reinstall Windows Vista Ultimate.

I tried to get the drivers from the same model of computer (with pre-ultimate isntalled.)

Identifying them all help to detect / detection / providing information about where to install the drivers would be a great help.

Thanks in advance if you think you can save me from downgrading back to home.

  • XP Mode/VPC does not start on Windows 7 Ultimate upgraded from Vista Ultimate box

    1 Dell Studio 1735

2 initially loaded with 32 bit Vista Ultimate. Including one instance of VPC 2007 carrying a XP Pro Virtual Machine

3 before moving on to 32-bit Windows 7 compatibility check was done and recommended applications, including VPC 2007, have been uninstalled.

4 Windows 7 upgrade was performed without incident or error and to end all applications and data were good.

5 installed, strictly in accordance with the files of the web videos etc., XPMode, VPC and WindowsXPMode.  Once again without incident or error.

6 in the execution either XPMode or VPC ago approximately 45 seconds of the busy HARD disk activity and then nothing.

7 I have a backup image of the original disc loaded with Vista as it was before step 1, above, I have tried several variations on a theme whose hardware virtualization on and off the power, order of the file install etc. but nothing helps

8 to prove the process and installation files, I did a clean load of Windows 7 then XPMode etc. on some old iron P4 and it worked a treat.  I'm actually surprised by not only it installed at all, but by the way it currently works on an area that was originally intended to spend the rest of his eternal life as a dump.

My conclusion is that VPC 2007 uninstall is not clean; He leaves legacy shrapnel (register?) in the system which is farce VPC.  Note that the result is consistent on several uninstalls, step 7, above.

Question; as the XPMode function is essential and will determine if a quantity of boxes are to move from Vista to Windows 7 where only once from here?

Have you downloaded the latest version of Windows Virtual PC? Microsoft has recently updated it removes the requirement of hardware-assisted virtualization: both Windows XP Mode and Windows Virtual PC is available for download on http://www.windows.com/business/downloads. For more information on system requirements, go to http://www.microsoft.com/virtual-pc, I upgraded my installation of Windows Vista Ultimate x 64 with Virtual PC 2007 SP1 3 year old last year and I was able to uninstall it and install XP Mode successfully.
