My dell PC crashed then I followed the news online & tried to reinstall windows XP from my original CD. However, the keyboard & mouse stop working when the installation gets to the 33 minute section which requires me to a box on the screen. I saw tips online who says lets you check the setupapi log & delete the file question (s) that prevents the installation but it required that use you SHIFT & F10 to enter the command prompt screen, but my keyboard is isolated at this time. So I went in the recovery console (I think it's the command prompt)? but I don't know which of the listed commands to use to perform the advice. I would be very grateful for help.
Thank you
Repair installs being problematic, I would not waste any more time at this stage. You are ready to perform a clean installation?

Hello
The computer is connected to a workgroup?
There are scenarios when a computer is connected to a working group and the name of the specific computer that has an operating system is not the same as that of other computers. Here is a link for example:
Refer to the suggestions for Ztruker , posted August 27, 2009:
You can also try turning off Firewall network and software security Norton temporarily, once you enable an Internet firewall, you may not able to find, or "Browse," to other computers on your home network or office, and you will not be able to share files with other computers on the network of Home Office r justify.
Important note: Security software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
For any question related to the area in gray, you can check the link:
As suggested earlier, you can also post the same query on Microsoft TechNet forum.

System error memory dump files
Is it safe to delete system error memory dump files after you run a cleaning disc? Also what are system error memory dump files?
Hi Cookie5354,
Basically, error, say a blue screen of death (BSOD) Windows gathers all available information stored in memory at the time of the incident and that she "pours" in a file. The file can then be used by a support technician to determine what could perhaps have the error in the first place. Sometimes, when an error occurs on Windows will ask you if it can information additional NMCS to Microsoft. If you press the Yes button on the request message that appears, then Windows will download the dump to Microsoft Server files.
Dump files are useful "but" they have the bad habit of taking a lot of space, so it is beneficial remove files to recover the space they occupy. Personally, I use a freeware thrid party application called CCleaner (www.piriform.com) If you use this and look at the bottom of the left side of the window of CCleaner, you will see a list of options what it removes. "Remove Windows error reports" is not checked by default, but I it check every few weeks or so, so that it clears the resports old error that are no longer needed.
So, in answer to your question, yes they can be deleted.

What type of controls that can be used WITHOUT having to raise the cmd cmd?
t-4-2
Hello
Good question, the answer is it depends on access, we've already got. Many commands require
ADMINISTRATOR level. For a user, they can only execute these orders not requiring ADMIN is not just their levels
Access allows. Such as users cannot RD or MD if not allowed in the TREE they are trying to those
functions in. Also the DEL will not work in files, they do not have enough permissions to do

That's what happened, I was using just disk defragment hard disk and since it takes a long time, I just left it alone and came to my laptop after a few minutes (about 15 minutes) and all of a sudden, I see my laptop is off.
I turn it on again normally and after a while, the screen goes black and a blue screen with the message above appears. I press the "TURN OFF" button and it shuts down.
That's the problem.I can not use safe mode or something, I tried everything in the F8 menu such as 'Last good known Configuration (Advanced)' and 'debugging '. Nothing works, all of this brings back me to the error message.
The only thing I can do, is use the Startup Repair tool.
It scans and tells me that he could correct errors, then I used the restoration of the system (to an earlier point), I haf 2 restore points but an error message appears and then they both became deleted. At the moment, I have no restore points.
I can only use the command line Interface which directs me to "x: windows\system32\.I can use regedit (the registry editor). However, I tried another procedure step by step that earlier, I found that told me how to fix this problem, I typed in "System Root\System32\Drwtsn32.exe" and it says 'system is not recognized as an internal.... " »
I also tried "System32\Drwtsn.exe" and he said: 'the path cannot be specified.
I don't know what to do, I ask you is can you please help solve me this problem by using CMD and the registry editor. Please, thank you very much for your time.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
My laptop...
Windows Vista Home Basic
1.00 GB of RAM
AMD Athlon processor
120 GB hard drive
ATI Radeon X 1250 graphics card (that I could remember)It's strange, so you are always able to get into the safe mode command prompt is that correct? If so try to type sfc/scannow and see if it finds problems
regarding the komodia, you can stop this cycle by quickly tapping F8 and select Disable automatic reboot after the system failuyre you should give the sfc/scannow suddenly too who could fix
Oh and the reason for which you've entered in this thing drwtsn.exe and itt said it does not recognized is because you're not on the right track
in any case I doubt that may help, but if you know you need to learn how to navigate your system using the command-line... pretty easy:
CD means change directory
If you type cd-it will take you to the root of the system
so go ahead and type of
Note that you are no longer in the c:\windows\system32 folder
now type
CD windows
CD system32
Drwtsn32Note that you can type the first few letters of a file or folder tab and press on to fill in the rest
in any case, who should start the program that you try to start but I think that your better off trying to run the sfc/scannow command. Let me know how you go

I have a virtual machine running Vista. I need to update with the SP1 and SP2 for Vista and the VS SP1.
I have downloaded and saved the 3, but when I tried to install SP1 for Vista I got an error that says I need to run the Vista system update tool. I downloaded the analysis tool, but when I tried to install it on the virtual machine is a mistake here:
"The parameter is incorrect."
There was no error number.
[It is ironic to get an error during the installation of software that is supposed to fix the errors of installation...]
What should I do now?
Hi MeProgrammer,
Temporarily disable the antivirus software on the computer as a test and try to install the update and check if this is useful to fix the problem.
If disabling the antivirus software works, then you need to configure the same so that it does not disturb. Please contact the software vendor for assistance in this regard.
Warning
Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
Additionally, make sure that you download and install the correct version (32-bit or 64-bit) system from the link below for Windows Vista Update Readiness Tool:

QuickTime and iTunes will not update. I have windows xp and tried to update quicktime and iTunes. I don't seem to have any problems with iTunes, but it worries me that my computer won't up grade to iTunes 10.2. Even more troubling, is that iTunes can not be uninstalled. I get a message "iTunes old version cannot be deleted? Product iTunes error 1714 and 1613 system error or 1612 ". I tried to uninstall iTunes and get the same message. If iTunes won't uninstall there must be a problem. What should I do?
