What is the best platform-Windows or Linux?

I need a site/blog/in brief/whatever which details a comparison (for and against) WebLogic running on a vs for Windows platform running Weblogic on Linux platform. Things I'm looking for in detail - of an aspect of performance/point of view: disk i/o, use of bandwidth network, global, multi-threading memory, JVM tuning, usage etc. I tried to call Oracle and bounced between the sales and Technical Support - which did not have what I'm looking for.

A site/blog/article/wiki formatting using a Q / a type layer would be even better: "his best to run the application server Weblogic Platform Linux a Windows platform because of what follows... »

So I ask here see if anyone has this kind of available research (brief, white paper, blog post, etc.)?

I doubt that you will be able to find such a blog. The license terms prevent 3rd party benchmarks publishing.

Overall, it is unlikely that Oracle would give you a formal recommendation for Linux vs Windows both supported platforms.

You could look at other indicators such as WLS development is done on the platforms Linux first and then others. In addition, you can check spec.org for points of reference published for WLS. A recent publication on x 86 shows that Oracle Oracle Enterprise Linux for this test. Suppliers are highly motivated to take advantage of all that will give them the highest score, so I think that is too revealing.

My anecdotal experience, Linux is by far a more common production compared to Windows deployment platform.
