What is the controlfile or the spfile? It resembles a spfile?

Both. An AUTOMATIC backup is made up both the controlfile the spfile. It's a backuppiece containing two backups (controlfile and spfile).

  • You can change the location of the automatic backup folder after creating a project on the first CC 2015?

Trying to figure out from there is a way to change the location of the automatic backup folder after a project has already been created and the location of the automatic backup has been chosen. The reason for this is because we have an active work with a project that has been meet with an "unknown error" while he was trying to save on our server and also prevents form Auto-Save save projects. After you create a new project on the disk of the local computer and the Auto-Save in the same place, we decided later that we could like and the Auto-Save to live on two separate discs. I was wondering if there is a way to move the AutoSave folder without having to make a whole new project and copy everything on him. I searched through previous assignments, and even if current discussions focus on setting up an automatic backup location, I can't find all the topics related to the evolution of a current configuration.

    Thank you

    Stu-

You just go to the project settings dialog box and change when the AutoSave file is defined.

A couple of things about the Auto-save...

-It waits a few seconds in action, so if you have a busy beaver editor constantly change things he could not AutoSave for quite a while...

-automatic backup fact that both 'levels' it is wise to use Save-as to increment your project as you advance. So you can be sure that if you are on the last edit to the project AND... If corruption occurs, you have previous increments of work regardless of their deletion.

  • I would like to know if Windows Backup and Restore will copy a new set of files and adding to what is there in the previous backup folder

On my old computer (XP), I used app fast backup protection to back up my files to an external drive, Iomega hosted Media Network Hard (2 TB).  I have a new Dell PC with Windows 7 (64 bit) OS.  With the help of a cable I copied all the files from my XP to Windows 7 computer.  All the files on the external hard drive, copied to a "network".  I am able to view all the folders of the Iomega file, but I can't back up my files to protect fast has not been improved to work w/Win 7.  Quick protect is divided into 6 different discs (photo-U, V-ActiveFolders, W-Music, X-backups, Public-Y, Z-movies), Iomega recommends using backup Windows and restore.  "Before you start this process, I would like to know if Windows Backup and Restore will copy a new set of files and adding to what is there in the folder backup previous Player X or if it will start a"new"backup" folder on drive X.

  • How to take account of the difference in the size of the mobile backup folder?

    Hello

Recently, I noticed that my backups take a large part of my hard drive.  (See the screenshot below).

I then ran this command in a Terminal, I don't understand, but found online: sudo-chxd 1.  When I did, I got these results:

Looks like my mobile account of backups for 241G of the above backups 257 G!  But, when I use the Terminal to show hidden files in Finder, and then navigate to the. File MobileBackups, then request for information for this folder, I see this:

    So, my questions are:

    1. Why Finder that thinks. MobileBackups is only 8.37 G, while the Terminal thinks it's over 200 G?  Is how important it that I have multiple user accounts on the computer?  (Seems to be too far in the hierarchy of files for that matter).
    2. Even if. MobileBackups is really more than 241G, which represents another 16 g of backups that shows the system information window?

Thank you!  I am new to this, any information or advice would be greatly appreciated.

When Time Machine backs up a Mac laptop, some free space will be used to make a snapshots the, who are backups of deleted files recently. The space occupied by the local snapshots is declared as available by the Finder and should be considered as such. In the view of storage of the information system, snapshots appear them as backups. The snapshots are deleted automatically when they expire or when free space becomes less than a certain level. You don't need to usually and should not, remove snapshots them yourself. The Finder cannot properly report the size of snapshots.

  • What is the file storage folder and we can remove it?

Original title: what is the repository of files, it displays red suit, what should I do to remove this particular?

    Hello

In the windows directory, it shows the repository for files and the file is 100%,

can I delete this folder or what to do.

    Looking for your help.

    Thank you

    Prema

After jumping through hoops permissions... I was finally able to remove one of the folders in the repository of files... and THEN I managed to install the copier/printer that I had been impossible to install for a week.  The last measure was going to be re-imaging machine, but since it's in a remote office, I wanted to exhaust every other possible fixes to this problem.  I continued to get the 0x000005b3 error messages, but once I deleted the most recent folder in the repository and replaced it with the same file from a computer with an installation of the printer successfully, I managed to install this Copier.  I'm ready to celebrate, now!

  • Is it possible to remove the specific backup folder.

    Hello

Please find below RMAN backup scenario,

    JUNE_01 - LEVEL 0

    JUNE_02 - CUMULATIVE LEVEL 1

    JUNE_03 - CUMULATIVE LEVEL 1

    JUNE_05 - CUMULATIVE LEVEL 1

    Here is my need,

    (1) can I delete specific folders (middle of the order's backup) which are below.

    03 JUNE - CUMULATIVE LEVEL 1

    04 JUNE - CUMULATIVE LEVEL 1

    So how to remove it.

I tried with the following query that is not delteted, please find this query, is there any correction, or if you have the correct question to delete specific folder then pls share.

    (2) if I removed above at the mentioned date backup folder as below,

    03 JUNE - CUMULATIVE LEVEL 1 - deleted

    JUNE 04 - CUMULATIVE LEVEL 1 - deleted

and have only one backup set that is have below.

    JUNE_01 - LEVEL 0

    JUNE_02 - CUMULATIVE LEVEL 1

    JUNE_05 - CUMULATIVE LEVEL 1

Can I restore complete database from 01 June to 05 June, because I take the cumulative backup level.

According to the Cumulative level 1 backup strategy, it backs up all recent changes each time after the recent level 0.

And yet one thing I enrolled as PARAMETER RMAN

    BACKUP OPTIMIZATION,

So, is this all possible and Impossible. Please, share your experience. Most welcome and thank you in advance

Cumulative level 1 backups contain all changes since last level 0 backup. So if you do not need to restore from a specific date within your backup cumulative level 1, you can remove it. In your case, you can remove the 03 and 04 of June and can restore the database from June 01, 02 and 05 June as offers, depending on the availability of the last backups.

If you can restore your database at any other time, beside your incremental backups, also depends on restoring archived newspapers available. In this case, restore you the database from a full or level 0 backup and recover the database using newspapers to check-in to the current or previous point in time.

To remove specific backupsets, you can use the command "List backup RMAN summary" and use then 'delete backupset ' to delete the backup.

  • What is Final Cut backups folder?

I just noticed a folder named "Final Cut Backups" in my movies folder. It is very small (18 MB). My Final Cut Pro libraries file is 5 GB. What is it and do I need? I guess that since it is so small, that it doesn't hurt really...  Since I'm on a laptop, I am always concerned about space. I have a 2 to external for FCP stuff.

    Thank you

It contains copies of the libraries that you are working on. They are backup up automatically every 15 minutes approximately. They are not of your media, this is why they are so small.

  • The bookmarks backup folder was my favorite, but they do not appear on the menu bookmark.

I just replace a crashed hard drive.
The profile folder has a backup of my favorites, but when I try to get back them, they reappeared in my folder of bookmarks or bookmarks toolbar.

If you want, I can try to find the problem with the files .urf.

Please send email to [email protected].

  • Accidentally crushed my backup original .json. Could not import the recovered bookmark from the bookmarks backup folder in Firefox profiles.

I accidentally replaced my backup with current bookmarks while trying to import from it. The original bookmarks were not present to Bookmark Backup in the profiles, so I used Recuva for recovering. Now, Firefox gives the "unable to process backup file" thingy.

    System Restore didn't help either.

I managed to recover intact bookmarked using Recuva, deep search in the Profiles folder.

  • What is the difference (BACKUP RMAN)

Please let me know the difference between

    1 Alter database begin backup

    2 backup database

Once all my own research, I can find this Alter database begin backup freeze the RCS and then we can copy the files from the operating system level

Where backup database directly create a backup set (backup piece)...

I would like to know the difference between the two functional, if there is...

More... .doing alter database begin backup... .am I not taking care of the logical corruption...

Alter database being backup not to validate or discover the logical corruption before...
I also came know from a TRAY that is just into backup mode and don't really pay attention to check or validate the files... before you screw it back upward.
    Is this true?

    Thanks in advance

ALTER database begin backup is a SQL command and is required to start a backup maintained by users . Backups managed by users have special sections in the documentation of backup and restoration provided by Oracle.
After this statement, it is up to the user to copy the data, ideally by the Oracle provided o/s ocopy command files

backup database is an RMAN command to back up the database. When filesperset is greater than 1, it will be multiplex multiple datafiles in 1 backupset.
backup database may check (when you specify the clause of 'sense check') for logical corruption.
ALTER database begin backup done nothing of the kind.

That is to say: they are apples and pears.

  • Reset / specify the folder root 'Files' pane in the library

    Hi guys,.

In one of my catalogs my folders pane has suddenly decided to include the images of my Mac folder and display the full path to what was the home folder ("Originals") for this catalog (pic1).    As you can see the statistics of the image, I have anything over the original file.   I would like to reset the root directory of the original catalog to get the same point of view in the second image.     Anyone has any ideas on how to get the view back to how it was?

    James,

Right click on the parent without images folders and perform 'Promote the subfolders' on them. Before that, I suggest a backup of the catalog.
