What is the failure of the system to defragment effect the failure to save?

Well, I posted this question before, but I think I've ruled out the obvious questions.

My laptop was backing on a schedule like a charm until May-June when something happened. The last good walk back was in may, and no matter how I put the back upward, custom/windows recommended, make an image etc. I constantly get the message "backup failed" and that the annoying red bar.

I thought maybe it was the external hard drive, which windows recommends that you use as a backup. In fact, I used this external hard drive before and when my hard drive crashed, it was a God send when I had to reinstall the operating system and all of my personal software.

Anyway, I always noticed that when I would defragment, which is on a schedule, he used to always say 100% defragmented. All of this, the C drive, the HP system recover and HP tools.

HOWEVER, I noticed that the system will not defragment completely. It has 5% not degragmented. It took place around the same time that the loss of the ability to save.

(I saved on DVD but I wish she could be like it was before, updated the back ups periodically according to a schedule).

Thus, the system refers to the registry? I know the least about how to deal with this. I fall short, I don't know how to fix it. This may be the reason why now the backup that is in my book - not the software provided with the Passport, but microsoft backup hard drive - does not work?

If so, how can we get the system adjusted? Or register if it is what it is.

Thanks for everything very specific advice for someone who doesn't know much about the registry.

I suggest avoid you the Windows backup program and you get a good commercial backup program. This forum meets for a windows problem reports. I know that I was very impressed when I tried it. Three I'm familiar with and like Norton Ghost (which I use for 8 years no 1 problem), Easeus Todo Backup free, you can download it from

http://www.TODO-backup.com/products/home/free-backup-software.htm and Memeo , which has 30 day free trial and you can buy it for $29.99 - you can download it from http://memeo.com . You can get Ghost for almost nothing (like me), if you look at the sales.

The March 2012 issue of PC World is very high on Easeus FREE program, and I was recently tested in a variety of configurations and must say that I am very impressed. As Ghost will support up to a network drive and it will create a bootable CD for when your PC does not start. See commentary to PC World to

CNET has a lot of reviews of backup program to

http://download.cnet.com/windows/backup-software/?tag=contentBody;sideBar .

Some of them are free (the last time I checked there over 300), some have free trials (more), and some are buying only (more than 200).

External hard drives are the best for backup. You can get a 500 GB one for $70 and a 1.5 to one for about $90. You can also buy a flash drive 16 GB for as little as $10. It is the best insurance you can buy ever!

I hope this helps. Good luck

  • What is the difference between save in jpeg and jpg format export

    Hello

Can you tell me what the difference is between save it in jpeg format and export as jpg features.  If I do two things on the same tiff/psd file, the jpeg format is about 10 MB and the jpg is around 2 mb.  What information will I lose through the export feature?

    I use photoshop cc.

In addition to what Jane said, the reason for the difference in file size, assuming that you used the same quality in both cases, is due to the presence of metadata in the version save slot, but not the export version as.

If you look at the charts of Jane, you will see the metadata 'none' radio button is selected that tells the program to remove it. When you work with Photoshop on a PSD or other types of files, the program saves a history of all the things you do and stores. This can cause a very large amount of effectively unwanted data is saved and the file size, or even from a PSD can really expand considerably as the Junk does not appear to be stored compressed. The more you work on the document of that metadata more gross accumulates. You can see what happens in Photoshop by selecting File Info

If you look at the raw data tab, you can see all stored in XML format. It doesn't mean much unless you are an expert, but I imagine that someone finds it useful.

When you export as is everything that that data are removed, reducing the size of the file. You can see that in taking a Jpeg exported in this way and the information file by calling again. What confuses some people, is that the data are still there when it shouldn't, this occurs because the Act of opening the file is saved and poured in the raw data. It is not really there in your file unless you save the file later.

    Hope that helps

  • What are the advantages/disadvantages "save files to Cache media next to originals when possible?

I just noticed that I have more than 7,000 files and 46.7 GB in my media Cache files folder.  I know that I can simply delete all files in this folder and first will automatically rebuild the files when necessary.  But are there advantages or disadvantages to save the files next to the originals?  I guess that means that he will write these files where I store my media files...

I would say that your cache store your multimedia files would decrease your performance.  Afford separate volumes/readers that first can read/write to them at the same time, instead of through one or the other, one both in read/write.

In addition, the Agency is creating the cache of the original media files, and it is always advisable to read a disc, when writing to the other.

    TL; DR is for Performance. ! ! ! !

  • PDF stupid question: what is the difference between 'Save as PDF' and printing to PDF "printer"?

Is there a difference in quality?

The "save under" seems to distill, but if I select 'Print Document' and select 'Adobe PDF' as the printer, it also seems to work OK, although I sometimes get a "Times" font unavailable, will be replaced by "Times New Roman", although I can't find any reference to "the times" in my book.

Is there an advantage to running distilled?

  • Accidentally deleted a dynamic link library (DLL) file and the need to replace one possibly other system files - what is the best method?

I did a system restore to a point before that my main user account has been established.  I had to set up a new user, and then it was suggested that to copy all the data of the user "existing" to the newly created user.  When I did this it's not well at all and some DLL files have been corrupted or deleted or not connecting correctly to the user of your choice.  I actually then did a restore of the system to the last restore point.  However, given that SR does not change the data, I was stuck with the wrong DLL and other system files.  I thought I had stupid test because I had backed up data.  I tried to restore to an earlier point (using Windows backup and restore).  Unfortunately the restore will not work and I get the following error: "a systematic failure of the initialization of the Dynamic Link Library (DLL).  I need to repair or replace the corrupt to get the system back and then protected files again.  I'd appreciate any help!

  • What is the HP Digital Imaging Monitor? Apply to my operating system, Windows 7?

What is the HP Digital Imaging Monitor? Apply to my operating system, Windows 7? I want to remove the icon from the task bar (toolbar in the lower right corner of the screen) that I never use it.

Picardjc wrote that "Digital imaging monitor is part of the HP software that communicates with your HP printer. This program allows to read the inklevels, get an out of paper message, scan from the device to the computer and so on. It is not necessary, but it will restrict the use of printers if you delete. "Understood. But for my printer HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809a, what is the purpose of having the digital imaging monitor icon in the taskbar Windows7 sp1 of the Notification area (aka system tray)? My A809a is NOT an all-in-one that includes a scanner; It is simply a very good printer. When I start to print something, if you need ink or paper, that information is displayed on the screen of my computer. So I ask again: why is the icon of monitor digital imaging on the taskbar? I clicked on at the time of this icon (I not print anything, but as usual, the printer is turned on), and nothing happened. R.N. (Roger) Folsom _ P.S. below I'll post some other discussions (with links to their locations) of the digital imaging monitor, I discovered before finding this site on which I am writing. There are a variety of opinions on what makes the digital imaging monitor. HP Digital Imaging Monitor is for HP director system tray access. This is necessary if you want to use the buttons of all-in-one on a HP printer all in one to scan documents or transfer photos from a camera manually. Closing the icon monitor HP digital imaging in the Windows system tray can cause the HP all-in-one to lose part of its scanning features and not the connection error message. In this case, you can restore all functionality by restarting the computer or by starting the HP digital imaging monitor. [Edited] 03/08/2011 14:05 - edited? 03/08/2011 14:08 Yes, it is safe to remove. In my view, it is usually in the program group under start / all programs / startup. Simply navigate under the Start button, right-click on it and delete! If it is not there, then remove it from the registry: run regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and delete it from the list in the right pane. If she is not there, then try hkey_current_user\\software\\microsoft\\windows\\currentversion\\run it's better than using msconfig and uncheck it. In my opinion, msconfig must always be set to Normal startup. Your printer will always print without that annoying obstructive utility called Digital Imaging Monitor. Ciao! Apple says the following:

    General requirements

    • OS X 10.6.8 or later version
    • 2 GB memory
    • 8.8 GB of available storage

For best performance, I would say not less 4 GB and preferably 8 GB or more.

Your i5 is well able to support properly.

  • Apple Extreme, Time Capsule and Express on the same system, what is the best way to set it up so that all devices smoothly from one end of the House to another?

Apple Extreme, Time Capsule and Express on the same system, what is the best way to set it up so that all devices smoothly from one end of the House to another?

I'm going to assume that you plan to have wireless devices.

Let's say that the Capsule is your "main" router  If this is the case, then it must be located in the House, so that the distance between the time Capsule is the same for the outside walls of the House.

Then, on the 'left' side of the House, looking for an airport to midway between the Capsule and time of the outer wall of the House. Do the same thing the 'right' side of the House.

In other words, each of the two airports that "extend" the wireless signal are located at equal distance from the Capsule of time... but they are in opposite ends of the House.

If you intend to interconnect all the airports and Time Capsule using a permanent, Ethernet wired... which by far is the 'best' way to put in place a network in terms of performance and reliability... then you can locate one of the devices anywhere you want.
