What is the fastest

Hi all

I have two query to find 2nd highest salary.

Please explain what is the most fast and why?

Analytic function:

Select * from

(

Select ename, sal, dense_rank () in the standings (sal desc order) of emp

) where the ranking = 2

Aggregate function:

SELECT max (sal) FROM (SELECT FROM emp WHERE NOT IN sal sal (SELECT max (sal) FROM emp)).

Thank you

"it depends".

The analytical function can recover all the data on the line easily, so you can see all the information of the employee for those who make the second highest compensation. I would probably use this one anyway, because it is more concise code.

    What is the fastest processor available in a laptop?

    Hello

    As far as I know the fastest mobile processor is the Intel Core 2 Extreme CPU.
    The QX9300 is the fastest quad core processor and the X 9100 fastest dual core processor.

    But don t forget that the speed of video editing is not only based on the central unit. You must also fast hard drives at 7200 RPM and at least 4 GB of RAM.

    I hope I could help a bit.

  • What is the fastest connection that I can use for a new external SSD for my MBP late 2008?

    That IS the question. I want a new external SSD for my MBP late 2008.

    What is the fastest connection type that works?

    'External' and 'SSD' could be a problem.  SSDS are different animals of disks spinny.  Some will say that you need not trim on SSD (TRIM is a management tool to move only the ' opportunity' bytes in a block when the block of data is moved), but definitely TRIM does not work on USB or Firewire.  Not sure if the TRIM works on Thunderbolt connected readers as it does on disks SATA-path, however.

    Speed included between slower and faster, however: USB 2.0, Firewire 400, Firewire 800, USB 3.0, love at first sight.

  • What is the fastest processor, I could put in Satellite Pro L20

    It is a desperate help request!

    Football Manager 2010 will come out soon and my laptop should be at the height.
    I know that I need to upgrade because Football Manager 2009 almost killed it!

    At the moment I have Intel Celeron M 1.4ghz and 704 MB ram chip.

    What is the song the fastest I could put in that? I did some research and found that I have only 2 GB of ram

    The laptop is in perfect working order, so I don't want to buy a new one, just for fun he and its served me well over the last 4 years - I dropped it enough times! Just need to speed up a bit!

    Hmm... You want really old enough Satellite Pro L20? I mean new laptops are more so expensive and I doubt that you will get a solid performance with the new CPU gain.

    Anyway, in your notebook is only the preinstalled CPU pre-tested and nobody is able to say what other s CPU will run. But you should look on the specifications for other laptops Satellite Pro L20. If an another L20 is equipped with a faster processor, it should also work in yours. You can try it, but in the worst case, it will not work.

    Good luck!

  • Slow buffering when shooting in burst mode high with my 7DMarkii... What is the fastest SD card?

    When shooting in burst mode high with my 7 D Mark ii, I do not get optimal performance... the buffer fills up fast and backup... while I can't take shots more... I disabled the quite high definition noise reduction... Usually, I only have an SD card in the camera. I do not use the other card slot... is it because I didn't have the fastest SD card... For those of you who shoot regularly 7 D Mark ii, make it a point to always shoot with a SAndisk SD 95 map... ? I'd get better performance if I used the slot for CF card or both?

    IRIS says:

    I'm shooting with a single card (SD), a Lexar pro 64 GB 150 MB/sec Class 10 and 3 inside the U (whatever that means), but I show a limit 16 popping up on my screen... so I do not understand... I'm shooting a low ISO... I have disabled noise reduction... I'm shooting a Standard picture style... I'm shooting RAW only... My battery is charged... Then why is it backup and buffering so often? I forgot something? is it's just that the CF card is faster? .... I doh't understand why I don't get the perfromance promised high 20 + something burst shots...

    First of all, Yes, CF cards are faster.

    Second, the number you see is the current buffer and does not include the write speed of your card.

    The only way to tell what your real brightness issue is therefore to test.

    Shooting RAW to SanDisk Extreme PRO 32 GB 160 MB/s UDMA 7 CF Card, I get about 30 shots before the outbreak slows. My viewfinder shows 15.

    Note When your feature of gust of defined test cards your lens to manual focus (MF) because according to your settings of priority to focus the camera auto focus can slow or even stop your glow.

  • What is the fastest Possible SD on Tecra M9?

    Hello

    I have Tecra M9-185.

    I want to install linux on a 16 Gb SD Card, or use it as a small flash drive

    What is the SD card more fast that is supported? (15 MB/s, 20 MB/s, x 100, x 133, x 200...)

    Thank you

    Hello

    I think that it s no matter what speed is the SD card.
    I know, it's that Tecra M9 supports SD card maximum up to * 4 GB capacity * and you can also use the SD - IO cards.

  • What is the fastest method producer consumer. Queue, RT-FIFO, event

    Hi all

    Another question completed for the pro:

    I recently inherited the labview code that uses RT-FIFO for the transfer mechanism in the architecture of the producer consumer.

    The code was first written in 3-4 years and is currently in LV8.6. It is possible that the reasons for the architectural decision no longer exists.

    I am qualified using a producer consumer queued architecture,

    I understand the RT-FIFO Architecture.

    I started using an architecture based on events from the user.

    (I have attached samples of each)

    I also see the existence of a priority queue

    Each method has its own capabilities and gaps, that hand, nobody knows the relative performance of each method.

    (Assuming that the only process)

    I would expect RT-FIFO to be faster, there seems to be a version of low characteristic of a standard queue.

    What is the perfornace hit to use a coding user-friendly queue more

    RT-FIFO description talks about commications between the time-critical and lower priority threads.

    Until today, I thought that the queues had the same capacity.

    I've included an event method that I commonly use for review by peers and help from other users...

    It allows to:

    1. several producers with different types of data

    2. process 37 production order.

    3 allows asynchronous verification of functional notifiers such as stop, start and abort.

    4. in a system not real-time, it can include interactions of façade.

    What I do not understand on this subject, that's what are overhead or thread priority changes that may occur using this architecture (it solves a lot of problems for me).

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Timmar,

    Here's a KB article on some frequently asked questions about the RT FIFO: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/7AE7075AF1B2C58486256AED006A029F?OpenDocument

    The more relevant question is #4, I posted below.

    What is the difference between RT FIFO and queues?
    Functionally, RT FIFO and LabVIEW queues are two pads of first in, first out. However, here are the main differences between them:

    • RT FIFOs run deterministically in LabVIEW and evanescent code queues are not. This comes from the fact that queues use block calls during read/write to the resource shared, while RT FIFOs use non-blocking calls.
    • RT FIFO are fixed size while queues develop when items are added to them.
    • RT FIFOs will execute the code, even if there are input errors. They can (and will) produce new errors and spread the existing errors.
    • Queues work with any type of data, while the data types that can be used with RT FIFOs are limited. Generally any type of data involving allocations of extra memory can be used with RT FIFOs to preserve determinism.

    Let us know if you have persistent questions!

  • What is the fastest way to convert VMWare workstation VM of ESXi?

    Hello

    Was curious to know what is the quickest way to convert a VMWare workstation VM to a VM compatible ESXi. Is the method of standalone converter VMWare at the following ADDRESS of the faster method:

    http://www.networkinghowtos.com/HOWTO/convert-virtual-machine-VMware-Workstation-ESXi-vSphere/

    Or is the method below faster? The method below mentions converter standalone is required for Workstation 8 VM but did not mention if it is needed for Workstation 8 AND HIGHER VM (ie: 9 and 10 workstation).

    http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1012258

    My ultimate goal is to export on a USB key and then import on the ESXi instead of convert and copy it to the network server. I'm exporting to my 3 TB USB would be faster than the copy of the virtual machine on the network. Thoughts?

    I think the second is the best option VMware KB: export of VMS in VMware Workstation to ESX/ESXi

    As you can see you can export the VM and after import on the EXS (do not use personalization)

    But uf you have Vmware Workstation 8 or higher, you can connect to the ESX Server and move the machine. If you are in the same local network and do it at a time of low workload, it would be the best option.

  • What is the fastest platform to run ColdFusion on

    Hello

    I'm looking to use ColdFusion in a new project. I wonder what is the more robust platform (speed, stability, etc.). Windows, Mac, Unix?

    Thanks in advance,

    Mitch

    Hey, Mitch,

    I'm not really sure, there is a "more robust" platform CF. objectively, I think that the big three all have advantages and disadvantages and the choice, in the end, comes down to an idea of your personal preferences. For me, I have developed in CF since end 2000 and have used all three platforms for development and Linux and Windows for the production.

    Over the years, I moved to the Mac platform for development. Once again, for me, I find a Mac best suited. OS X has great memory management, which allows me to effectively run a variety of servers and one or two IDEs at the same time, something I had trouble with my PC days.

    On the deployment plan, I prefer Linux for his precise control of the production environment, stability and overall performance. That said, I have never seen a big difference in the CF on Linux or Windows production environments with all of the other elements of the environment being more or less equal (same DBs, etc.). As long as you use CF, how could go wrong you?

    Good luck with your new project!

    Best,

    Craig

  • Performance optimization: what of the fastest?

    Hi all

    I doubt that is the fastest among the following code segments,

    1 INSERT IN temp_emp
    SELECT * FROM emp;

    2. START TO
    RUN IMMEDIATELY "REPORT
    TYPE ty_emp IS TABLE OF THE emp % ROWTYPE;
    v_emp ty_emp;
    BEGIN
    SELECT * COLLECT LOOSE v_emp FROM emp;

    FORALL i IN v_emp. FIRST... v_emp. LAST
    INSERT INTO temp_emp VALUES v_emp (i);
    END; »
    END;

    3. START TO
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE "INSERT INTO temp_emp
    SELECT * FROM emp';
    END;

    many of my senior colleagues say that the 2nd is faster than the other two. But the feeling that the 1st is faster than others. My prediction is simple, for example, SQL is faster than PL/SQL. Kindly help me in this regard.

    Ofcourse SQL is faster.

    There is no change in context.
