What is Vista anti-spyware 2012, is it a virus?

What is Vista Antispyware 2012?  She has appeared on my daughters computer, who claims to have found several viruses and disabling Firefox...  It is similar to Vista internet security 2011, the Red virus? It won't leave Windows Defender runs, or to update and run Microsoft Security Essentials.

It's a fake anti-virus (rogue), and it is extortion-ware. You must remove it by using the outline of the process to Bleeping computer. If you still have problems with deletion, let me know.

I hope this helps.

    Sarah;

Your system is infected with a rogue security application.  Use these instructions to remove it:

If you had a legitimate anti-virus installed before McAfee, did you remove it with a removal tool specialized Publisher of this previous anti-virus before installing McAfee?  Inability to completely remove previously installed security real-time applications can cause performance problems, system instability and even reduced the new facilities of security features.

Free Malwarebytes and Superantispyware Free cause no conflict with Microsoft Security Essentials.

  • permission issues after got rid of vista home security 2012 virus

Recently, got rid of the virus Vista Home security 2012. Since then, two of my hard drives (one containing windows) are randomly preventing me access to various programs, including the Windows Security Center.

I get the message "Windows cannot access the specific device, file, or the path. Maybe not permissions to access you the item"trying to open the example Security Center. I tried several times to change the property on fade away, with limited success. When you change the permissions, I get a pop-up saying "X" file could not be changed to the denial of access. I'll stop playing with the settings, cause in my opinion, I'm the makes it worse.

I have windows vista Ultimate edition, updated to the most recent, AFAIK.

    Hello

    (1) what anti-virus program you use to remove the virus from 2012 of security in vista home?

To work with this problem, refer to these methods.

    Step 1:

Perform a restore of the system to a point before the virus infection occurred.

    Step 2:

Perform system restore can bring back the virus. To be on the safer side, it is suggested that you run a computer virus scan after the system restore.

I suggest you run an antivirus scan using the Microsoft Safety Scanner to confirm that your computer is free from any infection by the virus. Please find the link below.

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.
The Microsoft Safety Scanner is not a replacement for the use of antivirus software that offers continuous protection.

    Check if it helps.

  • AVG for security is about to expire. Microsoft offers better security / anti-spyware?

    original title: Anti-spyware and security

Currently, I use AVG for safety. It is about to expire. Microsoft offers better security / anti-spyware or do I just renew it with AVG? AVG is a modest price, and that's what I need.

    Hi orionsfist,

Microsoft Security Essentials is a free anti-malware to your computer. It helps protect against software viruses, spyware and other malware. :-)   I use it at home and it works fine.
