What's new in Smartphones blackBerry OS 7.1 cannot be used

IM using bold 9790 and already upgraded to os 7.1

theres a new features like wifi calling and fm radio that I can't use

Why?

WiFi calls: Take a look here

http://www.firelogic.net/blog/how-to-use-UMA-WiFi-calling-on-a-BlackBerry-to-save-on-minutes

You can check with your carrier to see if this option is enabled.  I know in the USA, T-Mobile has this feature, but other major carriers don't.

FM radio:

I don't think that your blackberry model has FM radio:

You can read this, but take it with a grain of salt.

  • Absolutely new Z10 smartphone blackBerry user, a senior, new owner of the BlackBerry Z10, you have questions a little later

I am a new user of a smartphone and a BlackBerry, a Z10 with Bell, I'll give you the mandatory model number when I have a specific question.  I am 2 days in this, still getting the thing 'gesture' down pat, I'm not too good at this but the representative showed me.  Not a shot on the table-toss-away motion.  There seems to be some screen pages that don't gesticulate to the small size of box at all, as far as I know, some people, when they may be X'd OFF... but they seem to go away once as the main icon screen is in place for a bit...

I have a message for the company of BlackBerry and it is, please add some info on your User Guides and instructions on the Web pages [this is written on my laptop, I gave the Z10, a rest] for THE BEGINNERS of SMARTPHONE.  They generally speak to previous owners of older models BlackBerry or those who know the fact and not the person like me who has to learn to 'gesture' and tap and "stationary", etc...  It is covered too quickly and too not clear in videos and demos, you have online.

I fear this could cause frustration for new users... in any case, I'm persistent.

    Please persevere.

I have to admit that the Z10, great as a phone as it is, is not the beginner phone. Even I, with years of experience of BlackBerry, took some time to adapt to it. Once you get the hang of it, you'll see that it's the best smartphone that you can buy. Until that happens, I hope that you'll hang in there and give him a chance.

    See you soon.

  • New user Smartphones blackBerry with a Blackberry Curve 8310 and 8900 with AT & T

    1. There are all the other browsers which can be downloaded for Blackberry?
    2. What is the default access (password) for Bluetooth code (I tried to use 0000, pairing worked OK, but I can't transfer anything)?
    3. I have associated my 8310 with my HP Windows Vista laptop, the connection has been established. But I am not able to transfer whatever it is?
    4. Can I create my own office (by default is cluttered, would leave only some icons and put others in a folder)?

    1. look at what google found:

    2 Pimpmyberry.com

    Themes4BB.com

Here are a few others, just search for the model you need: http://www.blackberryforums.com/media-center/

    3. of course, you can move icons around all that you want (and those that you don't need or want to hide)

Highlight the icon (only select or click top) Menu > move. Drag and drop it where you want. Or Menu > hide.

  • Problems of Smartphones blackBerry 8310 on pc-linking either using usb or bluetooth

No matter what I try, I can't connect my blackberry curve 8310 (ATT) to my pc Windows XP sp3...    I tried to use the software provided by att, power off phone, back and the only thing that happens, is that the phone continues to Flash in that it connects, but never connects.  So then I go to the blackberry website and download the latest version of the software and the latest usb drivers.   No change.  Phone just keeps blinking (do not use a usb hub).  I tried many usb ports on my pc.

Okay, so now I'm tired of trying this, and I try to use my IOGEAR Bluetooth adapter.  After fighting for an hour, I get the bluetooth finally appears on my iogear software, but it requires a password to connect the phone to the pc (the phone is asking password)...

    Does really make it hard...

I searched and read many posts here, but none appeared to be suitable for my problem...

Very well.  I finally got all working...  After searching for days, I found that my IOGEAR bluetooth installed its own driver WIDCOMM bluetooth.  I uninstalled the bluetooth adapter and used, then reinstalled, using the adapter for windows xp.  Now, everything works, including the USB key.  Just how a Bluetooth player can affect a usb device, I don't understand, but that's exactly what my problems were.  Now, everything works fine, including my phone that allows me to set up my sd card correctly.

  • Smartphones blackBerry "Radio Off" and cannot be turned on via 'manage connections '.

Hey all, hoping someone has seen this before on the curve.  I ran downstairs to the power and the radio stops automatically, but now, no matter what I do that worked previously, (make a call/go in manage connections-"Turn on all connections") the radio does not turn on.

Any ideas or advice before I commit to BlackBerrycide?

Hi and welcome to the forums!

Try to remove the battery when the phone is turned on,

Let it down for a minute, then replace, leave the device completely restarts

1-3 minutes, see if the problem comes back.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Maps and GPS, should I use Google Maps? Re: Google Latitude

Question 1: I v.4.6 on my "BOLD". The maps and the GPS works fine, but I wonder if it is powered internally by Google maps. Anyone know?

Question 2: The reason why I ask is because I want to try Google Latitude, which allows tracking of the location of a phone cell phone per person. He supposedly can show you the location of all of your friends on a map. Can I install Google Maps first or if it'll work with Blackberry Maps? If anyone has installed Google Latitude on their "BOLD" and care to share their experience? You can follow your "BOLD" of your PC if you have lost?

Question 1: Is now the answer. I installed this software "Latitude" and got "Google Maps" and "Latitude" as a menu option. Now, I have 2 mapping software on my "BOLD" taking up memory sparc resources. So, these two could not work together.

Question 2: To see the location of my "BOLD" of my desktop PC:

  • How can smartphones blackBerry I adjust my email signature using a Hotmail addess as a client of Orange UK?

    Hello

I see that this question has been asked many times before, but for some reason that I still have a problem.

I'm a UK of Orange customer using a BB Bold with two email accounts set up. One is a Hotmail address, we're a private .com address connected to my own domain name.

I read a lot of posts about this, but I can't seem to find the option to customize my signature to e-mail.

    Help please?

It's strange that you in any event lead to the Web site. You have a Setup icon on the home screen of your device. If so, go into that and search a personal configuration of e-mail icon. If you can connect this way, you can change your signature.

  • New PC lost origional install disc and cannot install using download

I got a new PC and have lost my installation disk forr my T2 Tunston.  I tried to install using the download of version 4.1.4 from the website, but no luck.  When I try to open the program I get an error message 'To Palm Desktop Application encurred has a problem and needs to close'.

I tried without the device connected and plugged in, and get the same error.

My PC has an Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q9400 @ 266GHZ with a 500G drive.  I am running Windows XP Pro.

Anyone have an idea how I can get it operational?

Sounds like your data crashing on Palm Desktop.

This is your calendar or contacts, the origin of the problem.

    Steps to resolve

    1. go to C:/program files/palm/Hotsync ID
    2. in this folder find another folder called Agenda
3 delete the file datebook.dat from here and place it on desktop
    4. go into the folder called address
5 remove the file address.dat from here and place it on desktop
    6. Palm desktop logon attempt
    IF it opens continue

    7. go to tools/options and change the agenda memo application starts
    8. go to C:/program files/palm/Hotsync ID
    9. in this folder find another folder called Agenda
    10. take the file datebook.dat on the desktop and the place in the file
11 choose to replace the file
12 go in the folder called address
13 take the file address.dat on the desktop and the place in the file
14 choose to replace the file
15 restart the Palm desktop computer
    16 go in tools/options/tools
    17 select difficulty corrupt files.
18 office palm close re opened

Everything should work fine. If you want to you can then change the start of the application to the agenda.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry PRIV: amps support

    Hello

    first:

I did not yet find a forum for the new PRIVATE of BlackBerry. It would be very useful to have to ask pre-sales questions like mine like you already accept them pre-orders. That way I wouldn't need to post in the wrong forum, as I am doing right now...

    Now the real question:

    Does PRIVATE BlackBerry support amps?

I expect to support it, of course, as also the other current BlackBerry phones, but I wanted to just make sure before I decide to buy it.

    Best regards

    Andreas

    Hi @ab-tools

I can confirm that PRIV contains AMPS support. I hope this helps!

    Thank you

  • BlackBerry smartphones, what's wrong with my Blackberry Bold 9930

First the screen of my Blackberry would freeze upwards and it wouldn't let me do anything for a few minutes, so I had to take my battery out and then after that I took out my battery and put back in place he would have himself cut and wouldn't load, it would load at halfway then stop and try again. I use to have to take out the battery for a few days before its in so that he can turn it on but one day it does at all so I thought it was the battery but I just bought a new battery and its charging again to half way and stop and then try to load again, but it won't turn. Does anyone know what the problem with it... I have to wait a few days before you put the new battery in once again and then it will work or is the phone itself and I just need to get a new one?  Help, please.

Hello and welcome to the community!

Please try this sequence... Note that, throughout the whole 4h15m process, your BB should stay connected to a good charger (not the USB PC):

    1. With battery, connect your BB to the wall charger
    2. Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the screen not
    3. Remove the battery
    4. Wait 15 minutes
    5. Insert the battery
    6. Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the screen not

This has been known to "revive" some BBs.

It is also possible that your battery or BB has encountered a problem... to test, this sequence is necessary:

    1. Get a known good and already fully charge battery... use it in your BB and see what happens
    2. Get access to a BB good and the same known... use your battery in there and see what happens

The results of this will show if your BB or your battery that has the problem. I realize that you have purchased a new battery, but please understand that 'new' and 'well known' are not necessarily the same thing... While it's rare, that a new battery cannot be subject to default. The best thing to do is to find someone with an identical BB which has no problem... to Exchange batteries and see what happens.

In addition, the next thing is to try to start safe mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, thinking... what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

Otherwise, your next steps become much more radical.

Good luck and let us know!

    Hello

From a PC, you can install any bundle of BONES to a BB via this procedure:

Note that although written for "reload", it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or recharge - it depends on the OS package you download and install on your PC. You can even use a different OS package carriers simply insert, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, a file named PROVIDER. XML. remember that you remove from your PC, no matter what other packages devices OS BB as having more than one installed on the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

    • KB19915 How to perform a clean reload of the smartphone BlackBerry using BlackBerry Desktop Software application software

Good luck and let us know!
