  M$ has abused more than system update in 2015 and that continues in 2016.

  Free Panda who has a firewall

  Premium not free malwarebytes, but it has a free version

  Superaitispyware pro, which also has a free version

  Moon pale x 64 bit is quite good with Firefox.

  In the end, you can use a standard account instead of an administrator account and be safer.

  You can still enter a password if you are prompted to run the items that you know are safe.

  These two aren't anti-spyware applications, anti-virus applications.

  You see the effects of hijackware virus or Trojan infection.

  Backup of personal data (which none should be considered 100% reliable at this point) then do a format and clean install of Windows.  Please note that a repair installation (upgrade AKA on-site) will NOT fix it!

Last week when I checked to see if updates were needed that I was unable to view them because he said that "some settings are managed by your system administrator" who won't let me change the settings and the display of updates.   Two days ago, I tried to install SP2 through my Windows Update. During the installation and then restart, it stopped on step 3 (0%), ignored and open Windows normally. But, I realized that I had totally lost Aero (I didn't even have the option in the window color and appearance), and also Windows Update constantly gave me the message that I always important updates - SP2 has not installed correctly (I rebooted the computer several times to try to resolve this problem, but everything remained the same: stop on step 3) ", running Windows, and once again the message that I've updated important). I searched in various forums, but could not solve the problem, so I decided to uninstall SP2 via Control Panel. But it doesn't let me do that - whenever I clicked on the button uninstall, it says that the installation is not finished yet. So, I tried the system restore, but whenever I clicked it, an error message (that I didn't understand at all) appeared. So, I went into safe mode and tried the system restore and it worked (Control Panel uninstall option does not in Mode safe either), and everything is back to SP1. But now I have problems with Windows Update - I get the error message 0 x 8007002 (and even 0 x 8007005 several times). I tried everything I could find in the forums (the thing with automated updates service does not because I don't have this option in Services), but nothing works. If anyone has any advice whatsoever, I would be really grateful for that, because I don't know what to do.

  For safety, I use NOD32 anti virus, Tall Emu Online Armor and ThreatFire.

  Step 2 now try to update again and post back with the results

• Fix for common problems associated with Windows Update repeatedly trying to solve the same problem

  When the machine running Windows Update on a Windows XP Professional (SP3 with IE8), the information for the download of the ActiveX bar does not appear. Tried to run the Fix for "Common problems with Windows Update" and it says "Windows Update components must be repaired. Difficulty-it short, reports of success, "Found Themes" saying "one or more components of Windows Update are configured incorrectly". However, still unable to download updates from the information bar does not appear. Repeating the difficulty happens with exactly the same problem i.e. reports etc. but no success still can not download the ActiveX on Windows Update since the information bar never shows up.

  At tried all the suggested solutions I can find for the reported similar problems such as checking the downloads ActiveX security settings, reset Internet Explorer settings, and even resetting Windows Update (Articlce ID 971058) components. Still no luck. Therefore, I am unable to manually check and download updates of Windows security.

  Otherwise my PC works well. Norton Internet Security is installed but did not prevent Windows Update to work on another PC I have. The information bar appears sometimes for other downloads, and it doesn't seem to be a problem on the Windows Update page.

  No, I'm not not first uninstall IE8 (or IE7) before proceeding with the repair facility...

  Long history, technical, short version: do not uninstall IE8 (and/or IE7) before doing a repair installation (Windows XP only!) leaves the two Internet Explorer and Windows in a State of "confused" or "broken". Your only recourse now is a clean install of Windows (after backup your personal data).

  No, another repair facility won't solve the problem - even if you uninstall IE8 beforehand.

  EDIT: If the OP is also struggling to access the link I suggest using repair Windows updates available from tweaking.com. I suggest also using the Registry backup of the same author before hand.
