  Hi, I have a SATELLITE M40X-189, I would like to replace the hard drive and would like if possible some recommendations!
  I know I need an ide/pata and I currently have a hard disk of 40 GB hitachi 5400 rpm installed. The memory is just what came installed originally, (512 MB, no upgrade).

  So what size I can up to?
  I have a lot of music/photos and video to change so must also size decent 80 GB would be enough?
  I really don't use it for anything other than that, and also the navigation on the internet. Although I often have a few programs running at the same time which causes problems... freeze, (in particular I tunes) and generally slow running.

  I'm confident on the physical replacement, and I know how to clone my old drive hard etc, but just need some info about the size and speed and if possible
  a recommendation of the manufacturer. Just worried about incompatibility really issues.

  Also, if you think I should install more memory, which size and make and model may recommend.

  I have created a website of horizontal scrolling in the Muse with a background of fixed position and scrolling from right to left text while scrolling.

  The width of my project is 960 px's my background width px 1700. I checked my site on different portable computers and browsers, and everything works fine.

  Only ONE problem: the height of this horizontal scrolling page. I'm working on a Mac laptop 13 ", which is very low.
  When I saw my site on my laptop, you can see half of the fixed image placed in the Middle, when I saw this site on a bigger screen.

  The width changes perfectly with screensize, but how do I make my size vary with the height of each screen?

  When I do the background photo at the same height as my own laptop, preview it is perfectly good. When I preview the same larger size on my laptop, the lower part of the screen stays white because of the missing content. When I do the bigger size in the Muse, the site is perfect on my big screen, but half visible on my own laptop.

  You talk about 'virtual' non-physical memory. There is a difference.

  UPN based on the amount of RAM 'physical' you have in your machine the ' virtual RAM should be of approximately 1.5 hour of Aries. You have currently 1 GB of physical RAM Windows allocates already 1.5 GB RAM virtual and, frankly, it is better to let Windows manage the virtual memory file.

  If you want to improve then install the physical RAM more. Your guide to computer manufacturers will tell you to what maximum physical RAM, you can install and what type it is. I admit that I have changed the physical RAM to many times so know what I'm doing, but, frankly, it's less of a hassle to change the physical RAM which play with virtual RAM.

  RAM memory modules simply slide in and are cut in place. Change the RAM in a desktop computer is easier than a cell phone, but you will get much better results increase the physical RAM that you would changing virtual RAM.

  Of course, this is assuming that you need in the first place of the increased RAM. I recently increased my physical RAM of 4 GB to 8 GB and hardly noticed any difference.

I source on an image of good quality, but despite my diligence in trying to understand how the resolution and the size of the image, I can't seem to grasp what I should do with it.   If you burn to a DVD disc in first items 10 and later versions, some choices are

  a. DVD-VIDEO standard screen or 4:3 16:9 on DVD disc

  I see you have a few questions with temperatures. I'll try to answer for you.
  
  If at any time you worry about temperature, it never hurts to clean the laptop. This does not mean extraction it leaves again heat etc... Just a nice spray with little around the vents and fans canned air is usually more then enough to help lower time.
  
  This document may be useful in this regard too: reduce the heat inside the PC to prevent overheat.
