What to do about NodeManager .out log file?

Hi all
in your production environments, how do you manage the log < servername > .out file created by NodeManager?
Run you into gigabytes size? Currently, our applications are a bit full on stdout which in our test
environment creates big enough .out files, because the server is not restarted for several weeks. How could
We take care of this? Reduce the output of stdout? Do not start the server managed by NodeManager? Create a
separate the procedure to remove the file every day?

I check in the documentation, and it says that I can't limit the size of the file.

Thank you

You can not turn the stdout file unless you are a beginner weblogic as windows service.

  • Rotation of JRun, coldfusion - out .log file

I am running CF 8.01 and have noticed that JRun uses a rotation of 200 files for the coldfusion file - out .log. Although the sizes of the files are only 200K, I would cut the number of rotation up to 20 files or more. After a lot of Googling, I can't find where to change this setting. I was expecting it would be somewhere in jrun.xml, but I certainly he didn't see in there. Does anyone know where it change?

Thanks, Jochem. That certainly looks like the right place to change. Will be the new parameter stored somewhere, or it will get lost when the server is restarted?

  • SQL Loader / WHAT clause / off swich? / bloated log files

    Hello everyone,

I'm loading data using SQL-Loader very large source files. It all works very well.

However, now, by using the WHEN clause (in the control file), I would like to only a very small subset of most load data. This also works very well...

    WHEN ARTICLECODE! '000000000000006769' =

However, the log file becomes fully inflated with messages telling me to each record that does not have the WHEN clause...

Record 55078: Discarded - failed all WHEN clauses.

This becomes a problem because it slows down the process and creates large log files that eat upward of my disk space.

There must be a simple command to allow me to disable the messages of thiese, but although I googled on it, I could not find it.

Any ideas on this one? I don't know that it's simple.

  • Question about the display of what log file mapped in LogFilter agent

    Hello

LogFilter agent allows you to have up to 4 different log files (and paths) to match strings in the list.

Is there a way to make a rule that kicks in when there is a match of logFilter - to have access to what filepath had the match?

    So, for example if I have;

    /path1/server.log

    /path3/server.log

and if the rule that fires when the logFilter has a match, I would like it to show which of the 2 filepaths contained the game.

    Thank you

    "mark".

    Hi Mark,

The default LogFilter rule creates an alarm that contains the path to the log file of the execution of the variable of severity level "text".

This script uses "entry.get("LogName")" to extract the name of the log file, which is displayed in the Message field of alarm and the alarm dialog box as well as the text that triggered the alarm:

  • Question about a config/95 G log file: LabView_32_11.0_Lab.Admin_cur.txt

    Hello world

One of our lab computers running Labview has been reported to be running out of storage and asked me to figure out why. I scratched through some windows folders to find the culprit, specifically folder: c:\users\Lab.Admin\AppData\Local\Temp where I found a 95 G file titled LabView_32_11.0_Lab.Admin_cur.txt, I noticed that the Lab.Admin is the user name and is also included in the name of the file, so I guess it's sort of config/log file for the current user.

The file was too large for me to open and watch with no matter what program I had available so I just renamed, restarted Labview to check that it might be recreated then removed the bloated file. The newly created file has the following inside the itt:

    ####
    #Date: Wednesday, June 13, 2012 14:49
    #OSName: Windows 7 Professional
    #OSVers: 6.1
    #OSBuild: 7600
    #AppName: LabVIEW
    #Version: 11.0 32-bit
    #AppKind: FDS
    #AppModDate: 22/06/2011 18:12 GMT
    Base address of #LabVIEW: 0x00400000

Can someone tell me the purpose of this file and what might have caused to grow to 95 G. I'm only interested in learning how to prevent it happening again.

    See you soon,.

    Alex

Do you mean 95 gigabytes?  95 GB?

I think that it's a crash dump file in the event where LabVIEW detects an error.  Could you have had a recent accident (perhaps several) where some large scale applications have been involved?

You can use LabVIEW to open the file.  Write a small VI to open the text file, then just read a smaller number of bytes and display it in an indicator of the chain.

I have several of these files in my temp directory from to the slightly different versions of LabVIEW installed.  But they are tiny, about 1 KB.

  • Archive log file bloat - is currently out of cold back to the top of the best strategy?

    Hi friends,

I have a database 10 g. / WinSvr2003 making heavy spatial processing of the Oracle.

Previously, I ran the database in log mode archive and sparked a lot of files to archive log. 150 G (the worst week).

I got fed up with backups (incremental) RMAN night heavy and put the database in a mode non - archive journal. (I was also worried about the time to get the data back out of band).

Now, I come to launch the next nightly bat file: -.

    oradim-stop-sid DEV - syspwd *.

    del /S /Q D:\oracleBackup\DEV\*

    XCopy/e D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\oradata\DEV D:\oracleBackup\DEV

    oradim-startup-sid DEV - syspwd *.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1 week ago - when I arrived-in the morning the database had not restarted due to an inconsistency of data file.
    Recover the database fixed.

I guess he had something that this necessary in the redo log files? (its mode no - archive).

    I have a DB 24/7.

This cold offline backup is the best strategy to avoid the bloat of log file archive

I can always use RMAN and do not back up files of newspaper Archives? How can I make sure that it is a consistent RMAN backup if she has no access to archive the log files. (I just use RMAN after an immediate stop - restart?)

How instruct you RMAN is not to get the files to archive log?

DATABASE INCREMENTAL LEVEL 0 BACKUP; <-this leaves archive the log file out of the backup.

    Thanks in advance.

    See you soon,.

P.S. This is my first post on this forum. Yes!

    If you
    a. make a backup of the database CONSISTENT (that is to say in MOUNT but not OPEN) with RMAN
    b. do not save the ArchiveLogs
    c. yet the ArchiveLogs to create the database in ARCHIVELOG mode,

You can still use the combination of consistent backup and ArchiveLogs generated since the backup database (assuming that the ArchiveLogs are still on the disk) in the method of 'Refresh '.

In other words, RESTORE (but not RETRIEVE and OPEN) the database of the RMAN.
Using sql RESTORE DATABASE with the HELP of BACKUP CONTROLFILE to 'Updating' then apply ArchiveLogs for what is just restored.

    All,

I have a host who seems to enter a disconnected state several times a day.  These are the shows disconnected for about a minute before returning.  When I look in VC, I see is the very vague "disconnected" host, "Connected host" msgs.  So, if I guess my VC is very well and focus on the ONLY host who has problems, where can I find the log file that has the communication VC news?  Is - it pass or vpx?  Or is it something else?

    Adam

Since the issue is with a single host, its good to view the log of the host individual. You can check hostd.log (/ var/log/vmware/hostd.log) and vpxa.log(/var/log/vmware/vpx/vpxa.log)

Incase you want to view logs on the side of VC, have a look at vpxd logs(vpxd-xx.log.). Its located in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VMware\VirtualCenter\logs in Windows 2003 and C:\ProgramData\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\Logs in Windows 2008.

  • What is the role of the archived in an incremental backup redo log files?

I want to know, to which RMAN reads what block of data is changed after the last incremental backup.
and what is the role of the archived in an incremental backup redo log files?

    Please guide.

    Hello

    First Querstion response->
Each block of data in a data file contains a system change number (SCN), which is the SCN of the last change to the block. During an incremental backup, RMAN reads the RCS of each block of data in the input file and compares at the checkpoint SCN of the incremental backup from parent. If the RCS in the block of input data is greater than or equal to checkpoint SCN of the parent, then RMAN copies the block.

2 - the archived redolog files are required for the restoration of the online of rman incremental backup in a consistent state.
