What Type of PCMCIA is supported by Equium A200-1ED?

Hello

They gave me this old Equium A200-1ED which is too slow for window 8.

Putting aside the expensive option of a SSD, I thought to install windows on an SD card but the BIOS do not see it as a boot device and the driver seems not to recognize as exFat and even then it only reads that 27.7 GB on a 64 GB card.

So my next option is to get an adpater for the ExpressCard/PCMCIA location for the 64 Gb SD card that I hope the BIOS will be able to see as boot drive, but I don't know what Type (PIN configuration) of the card supports this machine slot.

The driver seems to think that he supports PCMCIA, but I know that it is not a Type II, because I have a Type II device that does not fit into here.

I don't want to open it, so I wrote to Toshiba, but I didn't get any answer.
So maybe someone here can help.

Any ideas?

Thank you

PCMCIA is designed for the use of some external devices, but the idea to use the preinstalled with OS boot device is really crazy. I'm pretty sure that this will not work.

A few years ago, I had Satellite A200. It is the same model as your satellite. If you want to have good enough laptop s performance I recommend to install Windows 7 32 bit. This machine was designed for Vista, but it is supported for Win7 32 bit. WIN8 isn't the solution for this old piece of hardware.

With Win7, it works fairly well, stable and faster than original Vista. SSD is very good way to increase the performance of s for laptop, but it costs a little. Anyway, you shouldn't buy the best and most recent SSD. You can get an opportunity for a lot of money.

Anyway, combined with mise a niveau of RAM and Win7 installation is, in my opinion, best option for you.

  • Tecra M7: What types of SD cards are supported?

    Hello

I just tried a SD Transcend 150 x with 4 GB to read with my Tecra M7.
The card works find with my MDA and is formatted correctly. It also works well with a card reader.
My M7 said, it might be not formatted and wanted to format.

So my question which is: what types of SD cards are supported?

Thanks in advance and Shine On, Frank

    Hello

It seems that your laptop card reader would not be able to handle 4 GB SD cards.
Each computer laptop SD card reader supports a hardware limitation, and it seems that this card is not supported.
I m not 100% sure on taken supported card formats SD but the SD 256 MB card, 512 MB, 1024MB and 2048MB should work

A question: have you tried to use the Toshiba SD card format utility? This tool allows you to format a standard SD format SD memory card.

  • What type of video card? PCI, PCI Express or AGP?

I have a new hp a6647c and you want to use two monitors. I need a new monitor VGA video dualistic structure. A store asked me what type of Governing Council would hold in my computer, CPI, CPI Express or AGP.  So, how can I determine which Board is necessary for my hp 6647?

    Here are the specs:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01559155

You can not use an AGP card. There is no AGP slot. You have an open pci express x 16 video card slot and a pci slot. You may in fact theoretically have three monitors; two ducts by a dual PCI express head and a third led by a pci video card. If you plug a video card into one of the expansion slots, you will lose the onboard video capability.

  • Equium A200-1VO - what could be done to improve the situation of power supply?

I recently bought an Equium A200 1VO as one second laptop - my other (an Aspire) is excellent, but a bit heavy in the basket to autour. Anyway, it seemed fabulous value and has worked very well so far - but I just discovered a catch today, the low battery life. I understand that this gap is shared with most of the other laptops of a comparable weight.

In any case, I wonder what could possibly be done about (I often use my laptop while on the move, in locations without power outlet available, and less than 1 hour of power is very restrictive (I know powersave and others)-especially compared to my other laptop which is about 3 hours on battery)?

Is there a portable power charger (the type with which you can load to the top of their rechargeable batteries on the sector, then take them and be able to charge mobile phones, iPods, etc. several times without needing an external power supply), as the Proporta one, who could charge a laptop as well (well, this laptop)? And how about the 9 cell Li-ion battery that sell Toshiba (or for that matter, one 6 cells)?

How long will pretty much those give me? Are there other types of batteries that can be purchased for an extra life?

Any suggestions on how I could get more autonomy would be most appreciated.

    Hi guys

    > what could be done to improve the situation of power supply
You could buy a stronger battery which delivers more power for a long time
You should take a look at the value of mA; more better ;)

Also please don t forget that the Vista operating system needs more power as an early OS like XP.
Vista needs more power because it wastes more computing resources.
I read that a same notebook would run 2 times longer on battery with preinstalled W2K or XP.

  • Satellite A200 - 1 h - what type of RAM can be used?

    I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 - 1 h that I bought about 2 years ago.

However, I can't find anything on this model on the Toshiba site?
No, even if I get the serial number?

I want to upgrade the memory in there (currently 2 x 512 MB), but I don't know what kind of memory I need.
I can't find this model if I search the site of manufacturers of memory either.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

Hmm. Satellite A200 - 1 HR belongs to the series of PSAE2E.
AFAIK the Equium A200 can be upgraded up to 2 GB of RAM.

In this case, you can use max 1 GB of RAM in one slot.
    Supported modules are; DDR2 667 MHz (PC2-5300) 200 - PIN SODIMM

Google a little of many online dealers provide these modules

  • What type of memory I need for the Satellite A100-906

What types of memories takes charge of this laptop?
    DDR2-533, 667 that's all? 800 media?

The laptop came with RAM DDR2-533.
But you can check this with tools like Everest. There you can see what kind of RAM of the computer laptop (chip) is not supported.

Of course, you can buy RAM DDR2-667 or DDR2-800 RAM, but it works only with the speed of the lowest module or chipset is not supported.

    Thank you

    Hello

I found information that this device supports a display size screen 15.4 "WXGA TFT with an internal resolution of 1280 x 800.
That's all what I found on the screen.

  • What type of modem do I need connect my AirPort Extreme to BT infinity

What type of modem do I need connect my AirPort Extreme to BT infinity

The question is not really what kind of modem you need... it is rather one of 'approved' modems which provides the BT will be compatible with the AirPort Extreme.

Unfortunately, the AirPort Extreme and other Apple routers are designed to work with standard DSL and cable type connections.  The fiber is a new ball game, and Apple has not yet learned all the rules for the new game.

Your best bet would be to publish a list of 'approved' BT here modems and then ask other users who might have the same product and an AirPort Extreme about their experience.

You can also just ask BT what product they would recommend to work with the AirPort Extreme.  They tell you that they will not support you if you are using the Apple product, so maybe it's something to consider as well.

  • Satellite L500D - what type of housing is under the battery?

I found a place (I think it's the memory) under the battery in my satellite L500D. What type of housing is it? (It looks like a MicroSD card, but sign says: this is the crack of WIS - I searched but I did find what this means)

It works in my laptop, or is it for other models?

    Hello

Memory locations are placed near the Bay of dough.
But the slots are not placed under the battery.
It would be interesting to see the location on the image.

As far as I know that the laptop does not support 3G so I n t think that there is a slot for a card 3G.

Of course, the laptop supports a Bridge Media slot that handles the card SD, SDHC Card, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, MultiMediaCard, but this machine in under is placed on the in front of the laptop.

  • What type of SSD for Satellite L70-A-14U

I would like to replace the HARD drive of my laptop Toshiba L70-A-14U DSS. What type of disc should I buy?

    * 2.5 "ok?
    * mSATA-300, mSATA-600 or SATA III?
    * 9, 5mm or 7mm a disc?

Which of these options are ok?

    Hello

The SSD can be used instead of the HARD disk.
The handles for laptop and SATA 2.5 9.5 mm height HDD.
For me, this means that you can also use a height of 2.5 9.5 mm SATA SSD drive.

The SATA controller is compatible with the latest standards.
This means that you will be able to use the fastest SSD drive. But of course the SSD drive performance (data transfer speed) will be pointing down to the same standard supported by the controller.
