Satellite L500D - what type of housing is under the battery?

I found a place (I think it's the memory) under the battery in my satellite L500D. What type of housing is it? (It looks like a MicroSD card, but sign says: this is the crack of WIS - I searched but I did find what this means)

It works in my laptop, or is it for other models?

Hello

Memory locations are placed near the Bay of dough.
But the slots are not placed under the battery.
It would be interesting to see the location on the image.

As far as I know that the laptop does not support 3G so I n t think that there is a slot for a card 3G.

Of course, the laptop supports a Bridge Media slot that handles the card SD, SDHC Card, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, MultiMediaCard, but this machine in under is placed on the in front of the laptop.

  • Satellite L500D: What version of Win7 should I choose: 32-bit or 64-bit?

I just bought a Toshiba Satellite L500D and early upward he asks in the recovery menu of the product to choose the 32-bit version of Windows 7 or Windows 7 64-bit version.

I don't really know what option I have to be selected.

    Can some please help?

    Hello

It s your choice either version you choose! ;)

But if you have 4 GB or more RAM installed I suggest to choose the 64-bit version. Only this version can handle 4GB or more of RAM.

If you n t have 4 GB of RAM, you can choose the 32-bit version. Some older applications require a 32 bit OS.

Have fun with your new laptop! :)

  • H satellite L505-13 supports 3 G? SIM card under the battery available

    Hello

I tried to clean my computer toshiba laptop L505-h-13, when I found a sign of a SIM card under the battery.
I tried to put a SIM card, but it does not belong. It is directly "swollowed.
So my laptop does support 3 G SIM? If so, how could I put?
    Concerning

    Hello

No, the Satellite L505-h-13 doesn't support 3G module.

I guess as some models of the Satellite L500 / L505 series was equipped with the 3G module.
The fact is that the same bottom cover has been used in the entire series L500 and is why there is a slot for SIM under the battery.

    Welcome them

  • What is the slot under the battery

Just got my new T400 yesterday and was very excited about it.

have a question here.  I noticed a place where the mental battery seven pines touch laptop, in virtue of this place, there is a small plastic film with a similar size to a micro-sd card card. He's also a figure resembles a card SD (rectangle with a corner cut). If I pull the plastic film, the card can also be removed, but the film remains in.

I don't find it anywhere in the manual. What is this site supposed to do? I guess that is not the SD card reader, because it's on the left side of the laptop, not hide under the battery does.

    Thank you.

I think that it is the location for SIM card for the machine with system WWAN. If you do not have the WWAN, it's just a dummy slot that does nothing.

What is the location of "SIM" under the battery for? I don't think that the NB550D had 3G? When I installed the drivers 3G it says hardware not found.

Post here the exact model name and model number in order to check the specs and see whether or not the 3 G module is inside.

If the HARD disk is not responsible for this it may be part of the rampaging material and can be caused by some sort of vibration.
Laptop warranty valid so my advice to you is to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. They can open Notepad and check what the problem is here.

Don t open Notepad on your own. It will void the warranty.

  • Satellite A350 - what software do I need for the special keys on XP?

Yes, fortunately I have installled common Module on my windows XP. And that creates another question - what is the name of the software that runs my special keys on Satellite A 350 (I mean them for music and turning power switch lights on the keyboard).

Anyone know? Thanks for quick help :)

    Hello!

For special keys, you need the following tools Toshiba:
    TOSHIBA Hotkey Utility
    TOSHIBA Touchpad POWER
    TOSHIBA utilities

In addition, I also recommend install TOSHIBA Power Saver. It the really nice tool to save energy and to optimize the battery time. In addition, you can create profiles of different powers.

  • Satellite A500-1GL: it is advisable to remove the battery when you use the network

I know this is a silly question but its actually something I know not so thought I would ask.

I almost always plug my laptop into the supply line (satellite a500 1gl)
I was wondering have you actually keep the battery installed even when using the electrical network.
Or is it really advisable to remove the battery when you use the network?
I didn't know if the battery should always be in place.
    Thanks for your help

    Hello

A few years ago it was recommended to remove the battery of the laptop if the AC adapter is plugged. What keeps the constant charge battery
New age of batteries are better you can leave the battery in the Bay it s ok and it should not affect the performance

However, sooner or later each battery would die it s only a matter of time, you know

  • Satellite M50D-A-10W does not start after the battery is completely empty

    I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite laptop Satellite M50d-A-10W AMD A, 15.6.

I have problem when the battery is completely empty I have to use the needle achieve hard reset the switch behind the laptop... so I can't enter in bootmode with f2

How can I solve the problem?

    Thank you

I guess you are talking about the shutdown procedure force as described in this document:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB3C03JR0000R01.htm

This problem can appear in case the PC freezes, do not start or has a power failure.

I think that the laptop turns off in case the battery is completely empty. In this case the system does not close properly.
As the default state, the system keeps laptop but usually the unit carries out a stop of the hybrid. This procedure allows the laptop to start much more quickly, but it could affect the system startup in case something goes wrong during the process of closing.
You can disable this hybrid mode and in my opinion, it is also recommended.

    Details:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB2B03EY0002R01.htm

However, to avoid these problems, it of very important to correctly perform the closing procedure.

  • Satellite P300 - 1 c 9 - How long works the battery?

    Hello

I was wondering if someone could let me know how long I should wait for the power of the battery on my satellite p300 - 1 c 9 to last?

The laptop is now 11 months, again it only lasted a meager 1 hour, now its down to 44 mins which seems to be very short.

It doesn't seem to be the point of a lot having a laptop that must be connected whenever you use!
I talked to toshiba tech when he was nine and was advised to unload a few time completely to form it and he said he would get me another 10% (wow, a whole 6 minutes), which made no difference.

look forward to hearing any suggestions.

    Hello

Sooner or later each battery will die and lose the own performance that s nothing unusual

You should know that the battery working time depends on the use of the laptop.
The battery much faster running high-performance applications that need many remedies of material.
All parts of equipment must be able to! CPU, GPU cooling modules, display, etc.

Reduce the brightness of the screen and set the CPU or GPU to lower performance in order to save the battery.
You can do this in Win7/Vista power management!

  • Satellite L500-12V - trendy but do not charge the battery

    Hello

I have problem with my battery. Says this computer system is "plugged in, not charging." When I click on the battery info it says available at 26%. When I try to start the computer without the charger is plugged in, it does not work. If I plug in charger when the computer is turned on, it is turn it off. Is my battery dead already or it is problem with charger or something else?

    Sorry for my bad English.

    Hello

What battery LED on your laptop? If you plugin the AC/DC adapter is this light on or off?
Can you charge the battery while the laptop is turned off?

Generally if Notepad starts with the charger plugged in the charger works properly and that the problem must be the battery itself or in the worst case the control of load on the motherboard :(

On the Toshiba site I found an interesting article:
[I have trouble to charge my battery to 100%. What could be the problem? http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/FAQ35007K001ZR01.htm]

  • Satellite A500 does not show 'time remaining' for the battery

I just bought Satellite A500 with Windows 7 and I noticed one thing, it is that there is no "remaining time" for the battery?

My former use A100 to display the time remaining on the power but not Windows 7, all I get is a remaining percentage... makes it go for all of the A500 running windows 7 or is - it something wrong with my new computer?

I guess that the Win 7 drivers should be released in the near future, it seems that Toshiba is driver downloading
Then maybe after the driver version complete you will get this battery notification allows you to see how it will work
