  I suggest you to check if you can see the MAC computer with the UNC path - \\computername\sharename. Later, check to see if the problem persists.

  If you purchased Word on CD, it's no big deal; just reinstall it after the factory restore. If it was bought online, copy the file downloaded to a CD and then reinstall it later.

  Is there a particular reason, why you want to do a restore complete? Have you problems? If so, you can try asking here on how to fix them and do not have to do a restore, reinstall all your programs and all of the updates and service pack 1.

  You have the possibility to change the graphics memory in the BIOS. You must go into the bios of the computer/laptop and see what are the options that it offers to the shared memory. If you don't know how to get there, check the documentation of the computer/laptop or from the manufacturer (Dell's Support).   Restore your computer to a point before the updates being installed with the System Restore.  Then proceed as follows:

  1. go in Control Panel , and then select Windows Update.

  2. click on check for updates.

  3. once the results come back, click on the link that shows Important updates and deselect all the updates except the first 3 or almost and install the updates.

  4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 until you receive the error message.

  I just installed Firefox 8 and this behavior is new for the upgrade. I checked my extensions installed against the list of extensions of the issues, and I have none of them (not looking for bars, no AVG, etc.). I already rebooted in safe mode and also used the option bars of tools and commands to reset.

  This has not fixed the problem.
