  • When I try to install itunes I get error "windows install is not enabled.

When I try to download and install itunes on my PC I get a notice that says that "windows install is not enabled...". How can I find the installer of windows and turn on? Thanx

When you try to download itunes, download is stapped with a notice saying: "windows install is not marked on" how to find the windows on my PV Installer and turn it on?

Here's a solution: go to start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Services and select Windows Installer.  Double-click it to open it.  Make sure that it is set to automatic (change it if it's not).  If it is running, stop it and then restart it again.  If it is stopped, start it just.

If this does not work, try to run the Windows Installer Cleanup of http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Windows-Installer-CleanUp-Utility-Download-18442.html utility and see if that helps.  You may need to restart the service after you have done this, and you may also have to restart.

When you retry the installation, right-click on the executable installation file and click Run as administrator.  It is sometimes useful.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

    Hi Al 7.

There are several different ways that msvcr71.dll errors may appear on your computer. Here are some of the most common ways that you can see msvcr71.dll errors:

    • "Msvcr71.dll not found."
    • "This application has failed to start because msvcr71.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. »
    • "Cannot find [PATH] \msvcr71.dll.
    • "The msvcr71.dll file is missing."
    • "Failed to start [APPLICATION]. A required component is missing: msvcr71.dll. Please reinstall [APPLICATION]. »

Msvcr71.dll error messages may appear when using or installing some programs when Windows starts or shuts down, or maybe even during a Windows installation.

The context of the msvcr71.dll error is a key piece of information that will be useful while solving the problem.

    Cause of Msvcr71.dll errors
Msvcr71.dll errors are caused by situations that lead to the removal or corruption of the msvcr71 DLL file.

In some cases, the msvcr71.dll errors might indicate a problem of registry, a virus or malware issue or even a hardware failure.

    How to fix Msvcr71.dll errors
    Important:
do not download msvcr71.dll from a website "Download DLL. There are many reasons why a DLL file download is a bad idea. If you need a copy of msvcr71.dll, it is better to get it from its original, legitimate source.

Note: Start Windows Mode without failure to complete one of the following steps if you are unable to access Windows normally due to msvcr71.dll error.

    1. Restore the trash msvcr71.dll. The simplest possible cause of a "missing" msvcr71.dll file, it's that you deleted by mistake.

If you think you've accidentally deleted msvcr71.dll but you already emptied the Recycle Bin, you can collect msvcr71.dll with a free file recovery program.

Important: Recovering a deleted copy of msvcr71.dll a file recovery program is a smart idea if you are convinced that you have deleted the file yourself, and that it was working properly until you did.

    2. Run a scan for virus/malware from your whole system. Msvcr71.dll errors may be related to a virus or other infection of malicious software on your computer that has damaged the DLL file. It is even possible that the msvcr71.dll error you see is related to a hostile program who is posing as the file.

    3. Use the system restore to undo recent system changes. If you suspect that the msvcr71.dll error was caused by a change to an important file or a configuration, restore the system could solve the problem.

    4. Reinstall the program that uses the msvcr71.dll file. If the DLLS msvcr71.dll error occurs when you use a particular program, reinstall the program should replace the file.

Important: Do your best to do this next step. Reinstall the program that provides the msvcr71.dll file, if possible, is a likely solution to this DLL error.

    5. To update the drivers for hardware devices that might be linked to msvcr71.dll. If, for example, you receive an error "the msvcr71.dll file is missing" when you play a video game in 3D, try to update the drivers for your video card.

Note: The msvcr71.dll file may or may not be related to video cards - it was just an example. The key here is very attentive to the context of the error and troubleshoot accordingly.

  • Roll back a driver to a previously installed version if msvcr71.dll errors started after the update of a particular hardware driver.

  • Run the sfc/scannow command System File Checker to replace the copy of msvcr71.dll missing or damaged file. This DLL file is provided my Microsoft, the System File Checker tool should restore it.

  • Install the available Windows updates. Several service packs and other patches replace or update some of the hundreds of distributed Microsoft DLL files on your computer. The msvcr71.dll file could be included in either of these updates.

  • Test your memory and test it on your hard drive. I left the majority of troubleshooting equipment at the final stage, but memory and hard drive of your computer are easy to test components are more probable that could cause msvcr71.dll errors because they do not.

If one of your tests of hardware failure, replace the memory or replace the drive hard as soon as possible.

  • Repair your Windows installation. If the msvcr71.dll file individual troubleshooting tips above fails, perform a restart or a repair installation should restore all Windows DLL files to their working versions.

  • Use a free registry cleaner to fix msvcr71.dll issues in the registry. A free registry cleaner program may be able to help by deleting some registry entries disabled msvcr71.dll that might cause the DLL error.

Important: Rarely, I recommend the use of registry cleaners. I've included the option here as an attempt to 'last resort' before the destructive step to come up next.

  • Perform a new installation of Windows. A clean install of Windows will erase the entire hard drive and install a fresh copy of Windows. If none of the above steps fix the msvcr71.dll error, this should be your next course of action.

Important: All the information on your hard drive will be erased during a clean installation. Make sure that you have done the best possible attempt to correct the msvcr71.dll error using a troubleshooting step before this one.

  • Troubleshooting a hardware problem if any msvcr71.dll error persists. After a clean install of Windows, your DLL problem may be hardware related.

  • Applies to
The msvcr71.dll error message could apply to any program or system that could use the file on any of the operating systems of Microsoft Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows 2000.

    Hello

. Have you done any recently changed on the computer before this problem?

You can see the steps listed in the article below and check if you are able to run the Windows updates successfully.

Temporary connection related errors may occur when you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/836941

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
