When I wake up my laptop, the screen is black but my attached monitor shows on the screen.

I can't be able to move my monitor screen split screen on my laptop.  I tried the windows key and typing the letter P.  I tried to separate the separate screen laptop, but the only thing that happens is that the monitor turns off and the laptop screen.

After you click on the windows logo and tapping the 'P', I separated the laptop monitor.  I then clicked on turning it back on and the laptop on its own screen and not the monitor.  Still don't know why it happened in the first place.  If the backlight has been low, I would still be able to move the screen of the laptop with the mouse - but it wouldn't work.  The mouse just bounced against the egde of the monitor.

  • Dell XPS 13 restarts when you wake up sleep on the battery

Since yesterday, if I put my Dell XPS 13 9350 (10 of Windows) to sleep and wake it upwards again, it starts from scratch, applications are complaining that they have been forced to quit with unsaved files, etc..

It seems that this happens more particularly if it is on battery, when I wake up. (Either by the way, I'm pretty sure that this is happening if I put to sleep by closing the lid, using the power button or by using the start menu. It also happens if I'm going to hibernate instead of sleep, although I never this have tested only once.)

I guess this is due to an update that Dell update made a couple of days, but I don't know what it was.

I since drivers updated from the Dell site & also uninstalled the video drivers (which corrects this problem for someone else on this site) and specifically checked battery-related drivers are up to date, but none of it helped.

    Any suggestions?

OK, so I finally seem to have set myself (thanks to a post on Reddit).

    The solution:

    1. Make sure you have BIOS version 1.2.3 or later version; Otherwise, update
    2. Stop computer
    3. Start pressing F2 to go into BIOS
    4. In the menu choose the power management, then block sleep, then check the box block sleep upstairs

This command removes the option menu sleep start > Power (and), but solves the problem. Behavior, it now seems to be in hibernation rather than to sleep when I close the lid or press the power button, because it takes more time to 'sleep' and wake up. It is, it works.

  • When I type on my laptop, the cursor jumps to another area on my screen and sometimes to exit this screen and opens a new tab.

This occurs on Word, or anything else I use. Seems to be a problem with keyboard, but what?

Then, the letters appear on this new screen or new square on the screen of origin i.e. top of page at the place where I was typing in the document?

    It is a "novelty". Help!

    Hello

It is possible that the keyboard has a problem, but it sounds more
like the touchpad. If the keyboard is sensitive you would need
a real computer store (the one who works on this internal brand) or
support of the manufacturer of the system.

No doubt try to disable the touchpad to see if it stops. Some
touch keys have the sensitivity controls.

    PEACE

    Hello JDG_SF, welcome.

These options are very likely controlled by your GP (Group Policy) settings on your domain. Due to the nature of the work of rights how administrative, there is no way to work around this problem, unless you have access to change group policy settings that affect all the machines on your network.

You would need to access or to change the settings of GP or find someone who already has access.

    Hello

-Who is the manufacturer of the computer, and what is its model number?
-You are aware of any changes made on the computer before this problem?

Method 1: I suggest you to update drivers Driver generic PnP monitor to the computer (not the graphics card).

    Follow the steps mentioned below:
    (a) click Start and type Device Manager.
    (b) install the 'generic PnP monitor' like your monitor driver.
    (c) under 'monitors' tree you will see installed PnP-monitor (Standard) in my case, monitor
    (d) right click in and select Update driver
    (e) select ""Browse my computer for driver software " "
    (f) select "Let me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer.
    (g) keep the "Show compatible hardware" checkbox on
    (h) under the list of drivers, you will see 'Generic PnP monitor'
    (i) statement select option and click "Next".
    (j) restart the computer.
Windows will install the new drivers for the monitor and the brightness of the screen you will start working again. »

Method 2: I also suggest you to check the issue boot once, because this problem can come for some manufacturer specific screen control software.
A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.
You can read the following article to configure the computer to boot:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: After the troubleshooting steps, see the link to start to set up the computer in normal clean startup mode.
    Hope this information helps.

  • Problem with Satellite Z830 restart when you wake up

Hi all, I have an occasional problem where when I wake up my Z830, the screen will become black, restart the computer, and I get the screen "Windows did not shut down correctly.

It happens from time to time, but I think with the following sequence of events:
1 put the computer to sleep by closing the lid
    2. pull out the computer by opening the cover

Once I restart using the 'start Windows normally' option, all right.

Does anyone else know this? I love this phone, so not thinking that there are already problems!

    > Happens from time to time, but I believe that with the following sequence of events:
    > 1. Put the computer to sleep by closing the lid

Does this happen if access mode sleep otherwise? for example clicking on the Start button and choosing to sleep?
This happens with the hibernation mode too?

When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

Serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. You have the screen image out to another monitor (one that is not plugged in fact).
