When using Media Player Classic, can not find DVD

When I try to play a dvd with media player classic, I got an error message saying cannot find DVD

Hello yoyo2,.

1. you have the same problem when you try to open the files with Windows Media Player?

2. does this problem occurs during playback all DVD with Media Player classic or any particular DVD?

This problem can be caused if the Media Player classic is able to play the DVD and does not support the file on the DVD format. Check the format of the files you are trying to play on the DVD, because it might have associated with missing codecs in Media Player Classic. Also, let us know if you have the same problem with Windows Media Player.

Thank you

No need to copy and paste.  Simply add the folder that contains the music files to the library in this same dialog box.

  • Windows media player I can't find a way to remove photos, or download it to a flash drive

I have a bunch of pictures I want to get off Windows Media Player and I can't figure out how do it.

The best would be to go into your folder of photos where the photos are actually saved.

In fact, when you are in Windows Media Player, you can select (highlight)
a file and choose in the menu "open file location".

The following steps may be worth a try:

Once you have accessed the right folder... Select the photos you want to add to
    the flash player.

The group selected (highlighted) right click and choose... Copy.

Reach... Start button / computer... your USB should be recognized
    with a drive letter.

Right-click on the drive letter that represents the flash drive and choose... Dough.

Right click on the selected group of photos and the menu another option...
    choose... Send to / {select the drive corresponding to the Flash drive letter}

    The Photos must transfer.

  • Media Player 12 - visualizations not working not properly

It is a minor - but annoying problem (for me!). A few days ago the visualization of Media Player has stopped working when the player throws. This only applies to reading CD - with music files, viewing seems to work OK. What is the visualization works generally the first time after a reboot, but then does not appear at startup of Media Player after inserting a CD, by clicking on the drive containing the disc, or by using the option of reading from the context menu.

The strange thing is that visualization is displayed if I do these things:

Change the library view and return to the poster

Switch to full screen (visualization works again after returning to normal size)

Pause or stop the CD, and then start again

Set the menu display to "no display", then choose a visualization from the menu

    Switch to another track

I tried to uninstall/reinstall the drive Media and system restore but also a host of other things suggested on the net. All to nothing does not. I did changes important to the computer in the last week or two.

So basically I don't get the view without a click or two. As I say, it's a trivial problem, one of these minor but annoying bugs that seem to be a feature of Windows 8. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem and maybe knows what is the cause?

    Thank you

    Neil

EDITED RESPONSE: Thanks for your reply. I cracked the problem, I think. It seems that the visualization problem occurs when you use the Media Player in the Program Files (x 86) folder but does not when using Media Player in Program Files.

So I changed the entry in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AudioCD\shell\play\command

    of ' %ProgramFiles% (x 86) %\Windows Media Player \wmplayer.exe ' /prefetch:3 /device:AudioCD '% '.

    for '%ProgramFiles%\Windows Media Player \wmplayer.exe' /prefetch:3 /device:AudioCD '% '.

In addition, the AutoPlay options list Media Player twice, and one of them is probably the version in Program Files and the other in Program Files (x 86). Choose one that suits (by trial and error) Gets the visualizations to work when the disc starts to play.

I have no idea why this should be. In all other respects Media Player from two locations works very well.

NEW EDIT: I discovered since ProgramFiles (x 86) content Media Player version 12.0.9100.16578 and ProgramFiles listed 12.0.9100.16579. So I put the latest version of the program in both files and the problem disappeared. There is now that one option in the list of automatic game options and registry changes are not needed. Of course, I had the pleasure of dealing with flipping permission settings before that Windows would allow me to make changes on MY OWN computer, which I bought and paid for.

I hope these ramblings are helpful to someone. I have my life back now, at least until what Windows 8 changes a boring itself without another reason that waste my time...

  • Windows Media Player 11 will not play video

Windows Media Player 11 will not play DVD-video or video files from a SD card.  I tried several update codec options, but none were successful, including the option offered by Microsoft (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/AllDownloads.aspx?displang=en).  Windows tells me that a more recent update has been installed and refuses to go forward.

    a. open the screen resolution by clicking on the Start button, click Control Panel, and then under appearance and personalization, click adjust screen resolution.

    b. click on settings Advanced , the Troubleshooting tab and then click change settings.

    c. move the hardware acceleration slider toward none to reduce or turn off video hardware acceleration.

    Hi gary kenny,.
    1. when the question is is produced?
    2. the issue of 'No audio' intervene on other applications as well?
    3. What is the brand and model of your computer?

Follow the steps and check if they help.

    Step 1:

If you have HP and Compaq Windows XP computers, you can follow the steps mentioned in the article.

    Step 2:

Or, you can uninstall and reinstall the sound drivers.

    a. click on START
    b. click Control Panel.

You should have a few icons to come.
If you do not, you must make sure that you have enabled the classic view.

Locate the control panel option, it will be on the left side.
    Once activated the classic view

Follow the rest of my instructions.

    c. click Device Manager
    d. sounds > search for your sound card (if you are not sure that your sound card is, post options and I'll tell you that one.)
    e. Note description brand / model, double-click on it, go to the tab drivers, note the version.
    f. make a right click on it and UNINSTALL it and restart the computer it will rebuild the driver stack.
    g. go to the manufacturers website and find the latest driver for your card download. (You must know the name of the sound card, if you wrote down from the above info), when you find it download: SAVE IT DO NOT HIT RUN (save it on your desktop for easy access.
    h. open the file that you have saved and right-click on it and select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR(Now install it.). REBOOT after each installation of driver.

    Step 3:

Sound drivers often rollback, so check that the version you just installed is always there. If not, the driver to keep until it sticks, it really shouldn't take more than three times
