  • Cannot send the link to the web page by e-mail

Windows 8 doesn't let me send a link to the page by e-mail. In Vista, it's easy, click just to the right, click on send link by e-mail and it used my e-mail program, no problem. Not the case with Windows 8 and Windows Live Mail. If I right click on the page, it evokes a box that has "email with Windows Live", which seems to be the right choice, but it just takes me to a connection to Microsoft, the same one that I use to get in these forums. How the * is that it will get to my email? I don't have a login to my email. I use a shortcut on the lower tray to open it. You're talking about not intuitive. Why can't they just leave things alone? No one at Microsoft ever heard the expression "if it is not broken, don't fix"? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello

When you click on this link send by email, you will be directed to the Outlook.com site where you can complete the action to send the link.

Outlook.com is the new interface to all living products, including Hotmail and Live Mail.

To connect just type your email address and password. The send email window will open and you can enter the e-mail address of the recipients and send the email.

  • Firefox icon from the top of the Web page, how to make this return?

    Tab menu Firefox went

You get the orange Firefox menu button when the menu bar is hidden.

    • Firefox menu button > Options
    • View > toolbars (press F10 to display the menu bar)
    • Right click on empty toolbar space

    See also:

Press the F10 key or press the Alt key to bring up the hidden 'bar menu' temporarily.

  • When you send the Web page link, the link is not active

When I want to send the link to a Web page I visit, I choose my yahoo email account and the webpage link is inserted in the email box, but it is not an active link and cannot be clicked for this person to go. They could, however, copy and paste the address into a browser bar, which everyone would know how to do. If I choose my gmail account, the link is active. What is a firefox problem or yahoo? There are moments where the yahoo link would be active, but it seems that it is never active.

Some publishers have magical powers to linkify automatically a URL. Yahoo does not that for Firefox, although I heard that it does for users of Internet Explorer.

Instead, you must use the link button. I have attached some screenshots illustrating.

  • When I click on a link to send an email to a Web site, why hundreds of tabs start opening?

For example, I was with my MacBook Pro, using OS X 10.9.5, my browser is Yahoo, and looking at the site WPR, wanted to submit a photo from a link on the site. When you click the link, all of a sudden an infinite amount of tabs start opening, Ouch. Fast as I can, I must QUIT Firefox for this stop or restart. If instead, I copy the link and paste it into my Yahoo email and send like this, that's fine.

    What is going on?

If you use Yahoo Mail, make use of the 'action' is set to Use Yahoo! Mail, not Firefox.

When you send a PDF with Adobe send & Track, it cannot be considered an iPhone. When customers try to access the pdf file by clicking on the link in the email, they get an empty browser window.

Noted in the FAQ to send & track a person receaving a pdf link should be able to preview and download the pdf of the computer, tablet or smartphone, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

    Solutions or comments on this?

    Thank you in advance.

  • Under TOOLS/Account Settings / your name / what I chose for "your name" is not displayed when you send an email. What should do? Thanks, paul

Question: Under TOOLS/Account Settings / your name / what I chose for "your name" is not displayed when you send an email. What should do? Thank you! Paul

This looks like a problem with your email service, not with Firefox (or Thunderbird).

It is possible that you need to set the name sent by logging into your webmail account online (e.g., Yahoo! Mail or Gmail). Web e-mail providers like these often put sending appoint themselves, ignoring the settings of your email client.

Unfortunately, since it is not a matter of Firefox you're unlikely to get help on these forums. I suggest that you find the support site for your e-mail provider, as they should be much more useful.

    Hi Haubhaus,

I know one thing to get your links to always open in a new window:
    1. Right-click on your desktop, select new, then shortcut
    2. Type "" C:\Program may Explorer\IEXPLORE. "." EXE" and click Next
    3. Name the shortcut (for example: Microsoft Home) and click Finish
    4. Right-click on the new shortcut and select Properties
    5. In the target box, arrow over until the end of the path, add a space and add -new (WEBSITEPATH). When your finished, your path should look like this:
      "" C:\Program may Explorer\IEXPLORE. "." "EXE" - new www.microsoft.com
    6. Click OK and try it!
Let me know if it works or if I can be of further assistance!

  • How can I change the e-mail account in Firefox, it uses, when I send the email from a Web site?

When I click on an e-mail link in a page, it comes up with a box asking if I want to use gmail or outlook, which I did not? I did not have this problem on my other computer. I need to know, in Firefox, how to change this option to use my e-mail account of Qwest. Not sure I'm explaining properly. Thank you

The mailto: protocol automatically asks you what you want to use when you click mailto: links. Default value for me on Ubuntu is Thunderbird.

You can't exactly use your e-mail address for the to do directly from Firefox (Firefox is not a messaging application), but you really need to sign in to your account of Qwest and copy / paste the e-mail address of the recipient.

Another thing to do is to synchronize your mail from Qwest for Thunderbird, then when you want to use mailto:, you can choose Thunderbird with ease.
