Windows media player does not work as no driver DVD
Had to format drive (trojan) & reinstall Windows XP home. Now Windows media player does not work as no DVD driver download from Toshiba site?
Hello
Usually the Windows media Player is not able to read DVD movies IF no plugins were installed.
To watch DVDs, you can use programs such as WinDVD or PowerDVD.
These programs are designed for the DVD play! But you can also visit the Microsoft Web site and search plug-ins for Windows Media player.
Then you can download and install to play a DVD with WMPBest regards

I have Windows XP Professional and have tried playing the CD through Windows Media Player. I get the message "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file. For any additional help click web help. "Then I do. Nothing here helps me. The player shows all my music but puts little red x showing that he can't play. Help! I downloaded version 11 of Windows Media Player, but it is saying the same thing.
Thank you.
Hello
1. don't you also get an error with the message code?
2 have you installed third-party readers part?
3. What is the format of the files you are trying to play?Follow these steps and check if they help.
Step 1:
I would have you readers of third party temporarily Uninstall and check if persists it to the question.
Step 2:
Most likely you need codecs to play these files with Windows Media Player. I suggest looking up codec in the Internet that supports the file format, download and install them.

Windows Media Player does not play the Audio CD in Windows XP.
Original title: Media Player 11
Out of the blue, my media player has stopped working. I don't think I did something for him, but he started playing an audio CD. I have no error message, it will not play. I have another media player on my computer, which didn't interfere with Media Player 11, but I get an error message that says that it cannot open "" MRL CDSG: / / / D: / ".
Hello
1. are you able to play the songs in the Windows Media Player library?
2. is the specific question on a CD?
3. What are the types of audio file that do not play?
Method 1: As happens with another player more, it might be that particular CD is corrupt.
Try again with another CD and see if that plays.
Method 2: Although most CD using the file system ISO 9660 CD Windows XP can read CD created by other operating systems may use filesystems not supported. The most obvious example is the Mac CD using the HFS file system.
