Where backups?

The docs that I should be able to backup and 1800 SRI and ASA, but I do not see anywhere any backups tab. All credentials are for both devices correctly.

Where this tab?

Thank you

Bob James

I can't talk about special characters in credentials, I believe that we have solved some issues around the use of $ or other characters in credentials in recent versions. There may still be questions around the particular devices. A developer familiar with here hoping can chime.

About the ASA and the State powers are yet to be known, can you check if this ASA was discovered by ON100, or if it has been added manually? I believe that we have a current bug where devices added manually to get saved not otherwise tested their credentials.

  • Windows 7 backup and restore - regular back Ups

When the computer is down/standby at a scheduled time, how long after the scheduled Windows 7 still will attempt a backup when the computer is available?

I noticed several instances where backup and restoration runs when the computer is started after at the request of backup time.

I have absolutely no idea why engaged Microsoft Support Engineer 'expert' that is used by Microsoft suggests to disable the automatic backup and "check if this is useful".  Perhaps the 'expert' will tell us how to check if it helps after you disable the task.

If you look in the Task Scheduler to backup tasks, automatic backup settings tab see here:

What does "Run task as soon as possible after a regular departure is missed" mean?

Check here on the TechNet site , he says:

Run task as soon as possible after that a regular check is not respected

If this option is checked, the Task Scheduler service will start the task if the task is scheduled to run at a certain time, but for some reason any (for example, the computer was turned off or the Task Scheduler service was busy) the task was not activated. The Task Scheduler service does not start the task immediately after the task is not respected. By default, the service waits ten minutes before starting the missed task.

You can read all about the tab settings of the task here:

  • I have just updated to Windows 7 and when I try to run a backup they fail.

I have just updated to Windows 7 and when I try to run a backup they fail.  It seems that whenever a program tries to update the external HARD disk where backups reside it requires administrator permissions.

Looking at the options Microsoft suggest that their user account control system is not supported by my version of SyncToy. What can I do? I'm looged administrator

As you have installed SyncToy until you have created the required permissions, uninstall SyncToy, reboot, then reinstall SyncToy.

The only time where backups occur is when you exit Lightroom.

You can set Lightroom to save your catalog whenever you go out and use it as a kind of "manual backup".

  • What is the difference (BACKUP RMAN)

Please let me know the difference between

    1 Alter database begin backup

    2 backup database

Once all my own research, I can find this Alter database begin backup freeze the RCS and then we can copy the files from the operating system level

Where backup database directly create a backup set (backup piece)...

I would like to know the difference between the two functional, if there is...

More... .doing alter database begin backup... .am I not taking care of the logical corruption...

Alter database being backup not to validate or discover the logical corruption before...
I also came know from a TRAY that is just into backup mode and don't really pay attention to check or validate the files... before you screw it back upward.
    Is this true?

    Thanks in advance

ALTER database begin backup is a SQL command and is required to start a backup maintained by users . Backups managed by users have special sections in the documentation of backup and restoration provided by Oracle.
After this statement, it is up to the user to copy the data, ideally by the Oracle provided o/s ocopy command files

backup database is an RMAN command to back up the database. When filesperset is greater than 1, it will be multiplex multiple datafiles in 1 backupset.
backup database may check (when you specify the clause of 'sense check') for logical corruption.
ALTER database begin backup done nothing of the kind.

That is to say: they are apples and pears.

  • Cannot delete files from USB HDD CCC attached to Time Capsule

    Hello

I use an external DRIVE (WD MyBook Studio) disc that contains two partitions: "CCC-Backup' (where Carbon Copy Cloner stores its backups/clones) and 'Media' (for my movie collection). This HARD drive was attached to my iMac, but now I have the seal to a Time Capsule via USB. Both partitions appear in the Finder and I can see all the data. So far so good.

Now, I want to set up my backup of CCC from scratch. To free up space, delete the contents of the old 'CCC Backup' partition. First of all, I see a message like "XXX.XXX current objects of deletion":

But then, after a while, I receive a message telling me that the deletion failed because I do not have the appropriate privileges (I am admin on my iMac, however).

I have no idea if this is a related question CCC or if it could be due to the fact that the HARD drive is now connected to the time Capsule? Could someone please give me a tip how I'll be able to remove the old CCC where backup files?

When the hard drive is plugged into the TC it indeed belongs to the TC. You must create a directory on the drive of your computer to be the owner of this particular directory. But what you do when the drive is connected to your computer is ignored when plugged into the network, it is owned by the network device.

So the solution is very simple... Plug it into your computer, wipe the partition and then plug it into the TC.

You must use sparsebundle then CCC for backup. It is important to understand that the CCC as Time Machine backup impossible similarly to a network drive.

  • Need help to recover files that I backed up in Vista, now that I again installed W7

I had Vista Ultimate. I bought W7 home pro upgrade. (ultimate has always been more than I needed)

I backed up the external hard disk Vista computer (I think that I have backed up the entire computer, not just the files = WindowsImageBackup)
then I tried to install the upgrade. (He said I owed a complete new installation, because I was leaving Ultimate pro)
    I allowed it.
NOW, I can not access the backup I had Vista.
I need to reinstall Vista from the backup, then JUST save FILES... then reinstall the new W-7?
or can I just access the files I need?

You may need to restore the full backup PC you created in Windows Vista, then make a Windows easy transfer to save your settings and personal files:

    http://www.notebooks.com/2009/10/07/using-Windows-easy-transfer-in-Windows-7/

Before you do, try attaching the backup of the computer as a virtual hard disk image and copy your personal files:

First of all, connect the external hard drive where you have the. Disk file hard stored virtual or backup your installation of Windows 7, then turn it on. I use an external USB hard drive.

Click Start, right-click computer and click on manage

In computer management, expand storage , and then click disk management

You should see your external hard drive listed. Click on the Action menu, and then click Attach VHD

Clear the read-only check box, and then click Browse

Browse the external hard drive, open the WindowsImageBackup folder where Backup and Restore stores the system image. Open the desired image you want to copy the files.

Open the folder with the name of backup you should also see the date in the name of the backup

Select the .vhd file bearing the name of digital alpha, and then click Open

    Click OK

Windows 7 now detects the VHD file as a hard disk volume.

Once the VHD file is initialized, it will assign a volume name, and you can browse it like any normal hard drive you have installed or connected to your computer. In the screenshot above, I'm full navigation of the hard drive of a computer Windows Vista Edition virtual file, you can see the folders normally found at the root of the drive as users, Windows, program files folders.

When you are finished using the VHD file, simply click the eject button in the notification area and eject the virtual disk file external listed.

Comparison of NULL value is never true:

    select backup.server,backup.backup,backup_exception.dbname,backup_exception.exception
from backup left outer join backup_exception
      on backup.server = backup_exception.server
     and backup.dbname = backup_exception.dbname
     and backup.port = backup_exception.port where backup.backup < (current_date - 1 )
     and ( backup_exception.EXCEPTION not between current_Date and backup_exception.exception
              or backup_exception.exception is null);

Please, look at the last two lines! When the EXCEPTION is set to zero, then the condition in your code will be false. That's why I added or backup_exception.exception is null .

  • Where bookmarks are located so I can backup a dvd using burn now?

I can't save my Firefox Favorites to the dvd. I've been back up Favorites (XP), but I just noticed that the bookmarks in that folder are not my current Firefox bookmarks that are displayed on the bookmarks Firefox "drop-down." Where are bookmarks to see them and burn them on dvd using Ulead burn now? I followed the path C: > docs and settings > username > application data > Mozilla but I couldn't find all the bookmarks in a folder in the folder of Mozilla. I wouldn't be able to see these bookmarks in a folder? Thank you for your time and your consideration. A.C.

You can create a backup of the bookmarks HTML.

    • Bookmarks > show all bookmarks > import and backup > export bookmarks as HTML

Such a file can be opened in Firefox and is not difficult to interpret in a text editor (an HTML editor should do a better job).

  • When finally decide us where we want to be our backup?

    Hey community,.

I had the same problem for almost 2 years now. The C drive of my computer where I installed my system on is a 126 GB SSD hard drive. Unfortunately, I always run out of disk space because 1) first of all, I can't decide which drive I want iTunes to be installed on and 2) second of all, I just can't decide where I want my backup to be saved. (3) also temporary files such as music data etc is stored in memory that takes a lot of space.

I've always had to use other programs to change the location of my backup because I have run out of disk space. Why apple has everything so easy to the point where customers cannot decide even more do? Apple maybe, somewhere in the future I hope, will tell the customer the opportunity to choose where we want to store our data? I'm tired of always having to change my backup just because I run out of disk space.

    Welcome them

Keep the installation of iTunes on the C: drive.  You can have your library on any connected drive - see tips to the user of turingtest2 on do a split cell library for more information. This reference also includes details on how to create a symbolic link or junction in Windows to redirect iOS backup location to another drive.

  • Where is the backup places.sqlite?

FF4 on ubuntu... It seems obvious that FF4 retains a backup copy of places.sqlite and places.sqlite is corrupt or deleted automatically replaces the lost or corrupted file. I need to know exactly where FF maintains this info backup. Anyone know? (I have DO NOT need to restore my places.sqlite. I just need to know where FF keeps the backup.)

On Firefox 4 the minimum size of places.sqlite is 10 MB, when you use the 10 MB it will jump in the size of 20 MB. This is to avoid the fragmentation of the database and helps to improve performance. The size will always be a multiple of 10 MB.
