  Hi all

  I have developed a form in LiveCycle ES-2. There is a feature in the form: after completing all the required fields if the user tries to send before you save the form, and then it will prompt the user to save the form in a different file name. It works fine in Acrobat 9 Pro. But when I open the form in Adobe Reader and try to do the same operation the form is saved, but it is an empty form. How to get over with?

  Adobe Reader does not allow to create PDF files - this is a PDF Viewer. If you are looking to create a PDF from a scanner, you can either use the software provided with the scanner, or, better yet, you can use Acrobat.   I created a PDF file in Adobe Acrobat Pro who needs information to fill in the boxes, but also the signatures of the form. I tested the form on different computers that bring it in Adobe Reader. I'm trying to make them compatible. My security options on Pro for the document show that everything is permitted (print, modify the document, signature, etc.), but when it opens in the drive it shows most people like not allowed.  I need to change that, but I don't know how. I need the form to be compatible for reader so that others can fill in the necessary information and then submit by e-mail to me. Please advise on what to do to get there, if possible.   You can activate certain player features, such as the signature and recording, allowing the reader to the document in Acrobat. Exactly how do you this depends on which version of Acrobat you are using:

  A9: Advanced > extend features in Adobe Reader

  A10: File > save as > Reader Extended PDF > activate additional features

  A11: File > save as other > Reader Extended PDF > activate tools plus (includes filling form & save)

  I created a form using Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended and want to fill out and that saved as it is on the hard drive of the person to whom it. I looked at how to do this, and he said: go to file > save as > Reader Extended PDF > activate additional features. I opened my document to Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended and went to file > save as, but it does not give me the option for Reader Extended PDF or anything. She has just the Save button which will open the box save as Dialogue. What should I do to be able to save what I want than this?

  I am new to Adobe products and do not have a lot of experience. Here's my problem.

  I used LiveCycle Designer ES2 to create a PDF form to fill, with a send email button. (use mailto: to open Outlook users and attached the PDF automatically)

  The shape is visible by all, but the e-mail button works only if opened with Acrobat.

  Is it possible to have this work with the drive? We obviously don't have Acrobat licenses for each user.

  Any help or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  The document must be enabled for the reader, which allows to drive save the completed form. To do this in Acrobat 10, select "file > save as > Reader Extended PDF > activate additional features. In Acrobat i9, it's "Advanced > extend features in Adobe Reader. This should be the last thing you do before you distribute the file.

  I have a table set in place where I add/remove lines to 3 points in the table, as I have 3 columns within the table.  It was created in Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.2... I want the form on the next page that works very well, it is saved as XML dynamic.

  Now, I need the form to be completed by users using Adobe Reader 9 and to do this I open the form in Adobe Acrobat 9 and then save a copy after selecting "extend features in Adobe Reader... However now when I go and open this file, the lines that were not initially in the form appear under the buttons of the rank final Add/Remove... as if someone has press Add line 10 times.

  Any ideas what is causing the form to change?

  I am working on a form that contains several menu drop-down lists the fields wrapped individually in hidden subforms that become available (visible), once their assigned boxes are enabled. After testing the form, everything works fine. However, the question that I am running is actually come to that after I Extend features in Adobe Reader. The issue has to do with the items in the drop-down list, in which I use a loop for my list of items very much in the same way as the form 'command' that comes with Adobe LiveCycle. The problem is that, before you extend the functionality of Adobe Reader, the drop-down list shows all my items displayed in my planned just like loop, however, once I have extend the functionality of player, all list items appear twice i.e. item1, item2, item3, then item1, item2, item3 again as if she 'Shadows' everything.

  When I noticed the issued in my form, I thought I had done something wrong, but after checking the double I confirmed that issued occurred on the file extended and not on the original file. So, I decided to test it on the 'Order' by 'Extension functions in Adobe Reader' form and and the same thing happened to the elements "ID." You can check it out for yourself!

  I'd appreciate any help you can give me for this problem.

  If you look here, you will see that some events 'appear' to fire twice when the form is activated: event triggered twice

  I suspect that you have the script in an event like docReady or initialize.

  You can move the script to the preOpen the dropdown event. It just fires the user opens the drop-down list.

  Another possible solution would be to include the following line at the top of your script to stand for the drop-down list:

  this.clearItems();
  

  This would erase the list when the event triggers the second time in the active player form and then fill it up again once.

  I was hoping to get advice on Adobe.com to learn where to find an (old version) Adobe Reader download and how to install it again on my current PC.

  Adobe Reader 10.1.11 / 11.0.08 was the last version with support for Windows XP.  10.1.12 reader / 11.0.09 dropped in favor of XP.

  Flash Player is still supported on Windows XP, from the current version 15.0.0.152 / 15.0.0.167.
