Hi friends,

When your problem record (commit), forms an integrated call named COMMIT_FORM; What commit_form do? Search for Shapes menu help. and

Causes the Oracle Forms update data in the database to match the data in the form. Oracle Forms valid first form, then, for each block in the form, deletes, inserts, updates the database and perform database validation. Following the validation of the database, the database releases all row and table locks. If the end user has posted data to the database during the current session of the Runform, a call to the COMMIT_FORM integrated commits these data to the database. After a commit operation, Oracle Forms processes all the records in the base table all the blocks as if they were questioned Chronogram of the database. Oracle Forms does not recognize the changes that occur in the triggers that fire when the validation processing.

and if you could, event that will trigger if a customer order form is closed.

How do know us your order ? Is it form EBS? then your should post to the E-Business Suite

    We would like to 'modernize' forms and reports Oracle version 6 ERP (1995) that we have developed and I saw gold alternately Oracle Forms and reports in APEX is. We saw a little bit "and we had some problems related to the navigation of the 'grid'. " Our customers in data entry are accustomed to move in grey with enter or Tab to insert new lines and move with the arrow keys. APEX, from the little that we have spent to make a new line, you must click on a new line, you must click on Save to save, to move the arrows are not covered. 90% of our masks are masters details and I tried using the example and I tried to adapt to the navigation of our customers with poor results, but I didn't spend too much time. A good alternative to the deferral report and form in Oracle environment it? Apex is the right way? you can get these things slamming a little ' head? Now, we have tried with PHP configured so that to approach the masks made with forms and States, and libraries DHTMLX... but they are a bit "away from the excellent and actually I use this combination more like business intelligence and statistical computing in general as actual data input masks. " I'm at a crossroads and continue with DHTMLX PHP or try to get your bearings on APEX. For years, we use Oracle DB and if we could take advantage of the APEX in the right way (without changing the lives of our customers with too many clicks on the buttons!) It would be great! Or is there something else around!

    Apex is a very good product, however is not a replacement for forms.  It can be used to replace Oracle Forms, but he will rewrite a complete application for most.  It will have benefits and drawback compared to Oracle Forms.  Oracle ADF tends to be a better match for Oracle Forms solutions.  That said, why did you choose to completely rewrite your old application Forms investment of 20 year?  Why not upgrade to forms the latest version which is 11.1.2.2.  With this new version, you can easily integrate with other product (Oracle and non-Oracle), take advantage of many new features and much more.  The main advantage for you (your organization), it's that you won't need to completely rewrite the code of your application.  It is quite simple to form 6 to 11.  Some minor code changes peut prove necessary, but most of the time you can move at will 11 version very little effort in most cases.  Many customers have upgraded to the latest version without changing code at all.

    Information on the latest version of forms can be found here:

    Check out the upgrade to 6 forms 11 documents in the Documentation Library for version 11.1.2.2

  • Forms and reports Oracle apex Oracle10g migration

    Hello

    We are a small shop and have invested heavily in the pl/sql code to generate various reports and graphs using forms and reports10g, and it has been very stable. Forms and Reports11g oracle is different from 10g because it uses middleware and architecture is very different. and it might be overkill for what we need. Can someone point me in the right direction regarding documents, books and videos? for the migration to the APEX? I am new to Apex and will look at the documents available and wanted everything but just some advice from the user.

    Thank you

    Austin

    You really don't have to MIGRATE to the APEX, it is more than a process of re-development... Your existing PL/SQL code can be re-used when viable, but in the forms & reports you have an environment of a free State with APEX environment State...

    APEX also has this similar middleware (APEX listener with WebLogic or Glassfish)... We must therefore understand that you will need to think about what you REALLY want a gesture APEX...

    Forms & reports still work for you, then you MIGHT want to stay there with them... Otherwise, move to the APEX would be a long term choice...  Given that the future of forms & reports is not too clear...

  • Form after save

    I have a form that we spent a lot of time to develop and we noticed a pretty big with problem.  Thought someone might have some ideas.

    The form has a number of programmatic features to ensure the integrity of the data.  These features locks and unlocks fields in various circumstances.  To "lock" the fields, gray to script out the text or object and sets the access "read only."  To unlock a field, it does the opposite.

    We did a lot of beta-testing with the shape and felt that worked fine, until that earlier.  The test I just do is to save the form, and then reopen it.  When I do this, Adobe returns to the "locked" and "unlocked" States of the form by default, rather than the States which were determined by the participation of the applicant.

    Who just doesn't get it.  Users should be able to fill out the form to save it and come back later.  An overview of the ways to get around this problem?

    Thank you
    Emily

    Try Paul myScriptObject

    http://forums.Adobe.com/message/2303466#2303466

    The script is provided in the form. It locks the shape down even after that you save. If you have multiple pages, then apply the script for master pages.

  • Delete the Message to save Oracle Forms in a block of master / detail

    Afternoon and Happy Friday people.

    I use Oracle form 6i.

    I have a master-detail block in my form. They both have several records. When I make changes to the block of retail and I navigates to another record of the block Master, he asks me "do you want to save the changes that you have made?" Yes/No/Cancel options. This is the message embedded in Oracle and not our custom save the message. I also noticed that when I say 'Yes' to this message, it does not in the trigger key - Commit who defeated the purpose of having the trigger key validation.

    Now, this message is coming due to a relationship of the master / detail? Also, what trigger I would seek to trap this message?

    Finally, I also noticed that this message (oracle save message) appears after our own custom message when I said 'No' to our personalized Message to register.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    I was wondering why forms brings the Message of the Oracle of inbulit when I'm sailing up to recording the Master block next

    The retail block must be erased when you navigate to another master to "make room" for the details of this new form of Basic. So, if there are changes in the retail block, forms asking the user what should happen with the changes. If you want to manage this situation yourself, put your own code in the WE-CLEAR-DETAIL-trigger before the call to CLEAR_ALL_MASTER_DETAILS;

  • Best idea practice; PDF forms to the Oracle database idea?

    Work on a kind of checklist of the form

    Most of the items is "Compliant", "Non-compliant", "not applicable".

    So with check all three boxes labeled 'item2' I get the behavior I want. Specifically, there are three options, but only one is allowed.

    Currently, the plan is to complete the document, save and print or send an email. So far so good.

    BUT...

    In the long run, it would be that data will by electronic mail in a format to an Oracle database.

    Question:

    What kind of logic should be fixed (and where) as 'for 'item2' choice of a single and even a universe of 3's [reply]

    I guess Javascript (not well versed in the present yet), but is there something simpler?

    Thank you

    Giving all the check boxes in the Group of the same name is the right approach.

    You must also give a unique export value in each box. This allows you to identify which box has been ticked. When the data is exported, the value of the field will be the value of exports from the enabled checkbox.

    If none of the check boxes in the group is selected, the field value will be equal to the string 'Off', but not 'off', false, or anything else.

  • Tabular form validation - save the correct values

    I use the example of the Dene of validation in the form of table. It detects errors and displays the error messages, but I lose all the values that have been entered correctly. Do I need to use a collection to save? I was looking through older posts and comment, it's that you need only one collection if you want to show the user the values that they entered incorrectly. With the logic of the Dene, she tells them what line the error and what is the initial value was.

  • Get the image of Excel as a form and save it as a .jpg

    Hello

    I am fairly new to ActiveX and will have a hard time to do a seemingly simple thing: get an image named from an Excel file and save it as a .jpg file.  I've seen similar things for Excel chart objects, but as I understand it the images are "shapes" in Excel and I was unable to find the right method to extract a form. Please, if someone could look at the folder below and tell me if I am on the right track, if there is a better way to do it, or if there is a way to do it at all, it would be useful.  Note that I don't like not how effective a strategy - if I need to register in a middle of another type file, that's fine. The only goal is to be able to extract this image and save it with a click of mouse and without manual intervention.

    Folder contains: 1 example Excel file containing the image named "picture 1"; 1 vi showing the method I found for the export of Excel graphs as .jpg; and 1 vi with the progress that I've done so far tried to get the picture of the Excel file and save it as a .jpg file.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Dynamics, where the form of Clause - Oracle 10g

    Hi all

    The scenario is we provide an interface (via form 10g) to execute different queries. These requests have set the columns and tables (for example, we have same SELECT and FROM clauses for each request). However, WHERE clause is unique for each request. So, I'm writing a dynamic cursor, but DYNAMIC CURSORS are not clear for me. I post my code for taking advice from experts in the forum.

    END;

    Just so that I understand what you're trying, you are not display the results in your form, you simply run a dynamic query that you export the results to a file.  Is this correct?

    So, what happens when you run your code?  Are you an error (If Yes, what is the full error)?

    One suggestion that I have after reviewing your code example is that you don't have a space after your FROM clause before you concatenate your WHERE Clause in your sql string variable.

    Your example Code:

    ...
    FROM
    inproving_result_remarks,MTR_RET_CRD'||:WHERE_CLAUSE;

    There should be a space after MTR_RET_CRD.  For example:

    ...
    FROM
    inproving_result_remarks,MTR_RET_CRD '||:WHERE_CLAUSE;

    Without the space your SQL will not scan properly.

    Another suggestion that I have is that you move your code from collection to a stored procedure (procedure or function) in your database of data and your stored procedure returns a collection.  This will eliminate the constant travel to the database for each line of the recording because your stored procedure will return the record complete game.  In addition, your stored procedure allows you to use dynamic SQL Native (Execute Immediate) will allow instead of using dynamic SQL from forms (EXEC_SQL) package. Native dynamic SQL is much more efficient and a lot less code.  In order to use native dynamic SQL, you must have on the Oracle Database 9i or higher.
