Where is the dictionary / preferences (plist) saved search file?

Hello

No one knows the name of the file plist in the dictionary / search app, please?

I'll just put up a new Macbook, and I want to copy my settings from my old, keeping the British English"etc." the same thing, as in the image below:

I am aware of the cfprefsd, but the two files I can see with likely names, ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.LookupViewService.plist and ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.lookup.plist seem to be empty anyway (control of these devices on the old system using Plist Editor).

Thanks a lot for the pointers.

eReader was recently bought by Fictionwise. It used to belong to motor. As Fictionwise does not eReaderPro charge (a $15 or more to motor) the dictionary is no longer included.

I paid for eReaderPro years and found the free dictionary included seem appropriate for grades of end primary school, which is not suitable for my needs. So, I use other dictionaries, none of which were free. Caveat emptor.

Then, I want to add a bit of my dictionaries to the dictionary.app. In the previous OS X, there is a "Dictionaries" folder under the / library with all the system default dictionaries as English, German and Japanese. But now, in the Sierra, this file is missing!

If you have any ideas, where should I put my dictionaries under Sierra now please? Thank you very much!

  • where did the valuable feature passed to 'search the library '.

In the older version of WMP, there was a great function when you use a Playlist to 'search the library '.

If so - what a shame.

I really miss t his feature film.

    Hi Nebula,

The menu "Find in a library" has been deleted because this feature is now part of Windows Search.

I understand that the addition of this option is more convenient for users of Windows; I will pass this information to the appropriate Department via our internal channel. Both Microsoft product team and the development team take into account suggestions and comments on future versions.

Where is the cache of Firefox 5.0 file? I understand that in earlier versions, you had to type "subject: cache ' in the address bar to retrieve the cache file. But it does not work on 5.0. I want to retrieve audio files of the Ornithology Europa.EU website but can not find where the file is located. In IE6.0 you had to only go to tools > internet options > settings > view files = Alto! Regarding previous versions of Firefox, the plug-in CacheViewer was very helpful but is not compatible with Firefox 5.0. Help, please!

Type on: cache in the location bar still works. See screenshot. Maybe you it misspelled?

I have Safari 9.1, El Capitan. The changes I make in the Safari preferences are not saved after that I close the program. There is no such thing as a Library/Preferences/Safari. What should do?

I think you're looking in the root folder not your home folder.   Tilde ~ in front of the first slash indicates the folder.

    Try this...

    Quit Safari.

Open a Finder window. In the Finder menu bar, click go > go to folder

Type or copy paste the following text:

    ~/Library/preferences/com. Apple.Safari.plist

Click OK, and then move the com.apple.Safari.plist file to the trash.

    Restart Safari to test.

  • Where are the saved files that someone sends you through Skype Windows8

Then, I installed Skype and was amazed that there is nothing that you can do with it. No video call?

    OS: Windows 8

    Thank you

type in your windows search bar

  • where can I find my document saved that I worked from an e-mail, and then saved using backup on the Word icon?

where can I find my document saved that I worked from an e-mail, and then saved using backup on the Word icon?

Here are two things to try:

The file is saved in the Temporary Internet Files folder. To locate the path, open the attachment to new then, and now Alt, press F, and to open the Save as window. In the save window slot, right-click on another file in the list, and then click Properties. On the general tab, copy the full path to the location. Then, open a Windows Explorer window and paste the path copied into the address field. This is where the edited file was saved.

    Since Christmas

    Copy this line:

    Search-MS:DisplayName=temp%20Files&crumb=ext%3AZZZ*&crumb=location:shell:cache%5CContent.IE5

    Now press Windows-E, Ctrl-Alt-D-V

ZZZ change to the extension of the file you edited, and then press enter.

This should show all the recently saved files in temporary Internet files with this extension. Good luck!

PS Si the file is, please copy in your documents folder before anything else. Open the copy to work.
