  • where is the magic wand tool

    Hi guys

All new to photoshop. I use photoshop cc and I can't find the magic wand tool, I spent my selection quick and clicked on the lower corner tool, but it does not appear.  I only get the quick selection tool.  I've seen several threads that show the magic wand tool from the drop-down list, but mine does not.  Ideas please > Heather

It is nested with the Quick Selection tool. Don't just click on the bottom... Click and hold down.

If it does not appear, right click here and the reset tool

  • Photoshop CC lacks the magic wand tool

Hello! I have the new Adobe Creative Suite for student and works with Photoshop CC at the minute but can't find the magic wand tool anywhere... is not in this version, or he's somewhere hiding... cannot locate. Help, please?

    Look in your tools:

  • Where can I find the magic wand tool?

Where can I find the magic wand tool?

It's in your Toolbox, the fourth field of the top.

If you do not see, the quick selection tool is probably chosen.

Press (that's a pressure downwards, not click) on the Quick Selection tool and hold the button for a moment.

You should see the magic wand. Move your cursor to the bottom and select the wand.

  • Could not find that the magic wand took in Photoshop CC2015 after update.

The magic wand tool has been eliminated in 2015 CC Photoshop? He has been under the quick selection tool. But I see no more.

    Hi ScottRKline,

No, it has not been eliminated.

Magic Wand tool is still there.

He might be invoking the option toolbar edition.

Go to the Edit menu > toolbar > restore default values and then check out.

    Kind regards

  • Hide always selectable items with the magic wand tool

When I want to cut a piece of an image, I create a mask on the layer of the image with paint on anything, but the point I want to keep. Something changed and I can choose is no longer this element remains in the layer after I applied the layer mask and painted essentially the everytyhing else.

For example if I wanted an Apple carved into a tree, I've painted all in black except apple, which left white in the mask. After you apply the mask on the layer, I should be able to click in the empty space around the Apple with my magic wand tool and they have to make a perfect around apple selection, but the magic wand tool straightens always leaves, branches, etc. Even if I painted out them and apply the mask, is essentially delete them and all that I can see the gray and white checkerboard grid behind Apple. It makes me crazy!

It's Photoshop CS6 and it was working fine before. Changed something without realizing it?

    Thank you...

Maybe you painted the mask with a very dark black than gray. Apply this mask would leave the color in the pixels, but they are almost completely transparent. The magic wand would always detect the color in the pixels.

Another possibility is that you have accidentally reduced the density of the mask slightly in the properties panel when the mask was targeted.

  • Cannot find the quick selection tool (previously associated with the magic wand tool) on Illustrator CC (the most recent version installed on October 14, 2014)

I just installed a new version of Illustrator CC and CS6 on 14 October 2014 and I couldn't find the quick selection on this version tool, this tool already lies with the magic wand tool

I don't remember a quick selection tool in Illustrator. Are you sure it was in Illustrator?

  • Question on the paint bucket tool and the magic wand tool

I try to learn Marie-illustration with PS

I have a few question, since I'm new on this

    cartoon1.jpg

first on the paint bucket tool, theres you can see, first of all I do preview, then fill with the pot of paint, but as you can see it, theres always have white line

so I have to manually paint to fill the white line, is theres no adjustment so the filling does not leave any white line?

the 2nd issue is on the quick magic wand tool

    cartoon2.png

    cartoon3.jpg

I make selection to expose and make new layer that fills with a color

but as you can see, for example, I use red.

theres a red leak, so I mus manually erasing who

is there a setting too for wand of the tool, if you fill the selection with the color.

the color didn't cross the contour line

so I'm just curious as to what you can change with a few settings, or his normal procces, so whatever it takes, you need cleaning by yourself

    Thank you

Photoshop is more (or less) a graphical editor hatched (with a handful of vector tools). Tools like the paint bucket tool work on the paradigm of raster. You can set the tolerance in the toolbar options also high he'll go (255) to select (or fill) all the pixels of the layer.

If you haven't already done so, try looking at Illustrator, because it is a vector editor; You can change the contours and funds of works of art on the fly and evolve it without losing quality to boot.

  • Where is the selection Brush tool in Photoshop CC 2015?

I would use the tool selection brush similar to PES and rather QUICK selection brush. Is the simple selection brush in this version, or is it possible to add it somehow? I'm bored of my brush "to draw exactly where you want the selection to be!"

You can put the selection in a layer mask and make as many combinations of paint with the Brush tool, refine edge, ect you want. Also, if he is not enough contrast to the quick selection tool, a tip would be to go to the Panel layers and find the channel with the most contrast, then push the contrast adjustment curves. Who can help tremendously.

And the edges are a bit smooth, you might try the pen tool.

  • Can someone help me with the magic wand tool please?

Last night I select images as small as teeth and now it won't let me select anything small using this tool.  It selects random points in the image, no matter what tolerance is set on and it's okay if I have the contiguous, anti-aliasing and taste layer checked boxes.  I do not know if I clicked on something or have settled on something that does not allow small objects to define.  Please help me!

    Thank you.

    Katie

OK, the next thing to make sure you are on the image layer, you try to use the wand on. If this layer is a transparency on another image, make sure that you do not have the sample audited all the layers.

  • Issue using the Magic Wand selection tool in Photoshop CS6

I m following a tutorial to learn the basics of photoshop and I m stuck on the magic wand tool, while doing a very simple task. I'm trying to select the white background of the image and then pressing on delete to remove it and make duck yellow transparent image.

But when I press the button remove key a window opens and the eyedropper tool is selected. And when I press DELETE, while the background is filled with the yellow color of the duck. Please look at the picture and let me know how I can fix this.magic-wand-tool-issue.jpg

And when I press on enter, this is what happens:

    yellow-rubber-duck.jpg

This happens because you are working on the background layer which is special in Photoshop. What you need to do, is make a regular layer by double clicking with the ALT key or double clicking and pressing ok. Incidentally that's going to happen with any selection tool not only the magic wand. Hope that helps

  • URGENT magic wand tool selects a line drawing, instead of the space between

    Hello

I am coloring/rendering a map of the places where I imported a PDF of line drawing prepared in Autocad. To do this, I usually start with the magic wand tool to select areas on the plan and block everything with the pot of paint color. However, this time when I select objects (say the building) selects the black lines in the layer (the line drawings) rather the space between the two. I checked to see if all the lines are closed and I played with the tolerance but he still picks on the lines instead. I tried both on a transparent background and tried to merge the lines with a layer of white background but without success.

Please help if you can, I have a tight deadline to finish it and use the polygonal selection on everything that would be both pain and take too much time! I have Adobe Photoshop CC 2015.

    Thank you.

If there is a problem with gaps - create a copy of the layer. Apply a 1 - 2px Gaussian blur. Use the magic wand on this layer, then make your choice.

  • How to move the selection from the magic wand of 2 pixels tool to take off the edges?

    Hello

I am trying to make a selection with the magic wand tool and move the edges of the selection by a pixel or two, but the button "refine edge" does not seem to do anything.  I want to cut a pixel on the edge of an image that I cut into another image.  Any help would be great thanks.

Depending on whether you have selected the image or the background, use Select > modify > expand your selection or select > modify > contract selection

  • Mask and the magic wand in the Select

In Using Photoshop / select and mask Workspace for 2015.5 CC, it is said after the launch of Select and mask workspace allowing, "a selection tool such as the Lasso, magic wand, or quick selection. Now click on select and mask in the Options bar. "But when I run S & M, the magic wand is not available. Is it possible to add it?

    Martin

If you mean the magic wand tool, no. There is only the regular lasso tool and the quick selection in the selection and the mask tool.

  • "WARNING: no pixel selected" with the magic wand

    Details:

    Product: Adobe Photoshop CS5 64-bit

    OS: Windows 7 64-bit

I'm working on the application of a coating that is textured to a field of hexagons, but not for their "Grout", i.e. the border thickness between each hexagonal "mosaic". I made a selection of the "Grout" and then reversed so that now my hexes were selected, make a new layer filled with black, and then using the magic wand tool, I deselected about 2/3 of the selections in Allen. Apply noise, motion blur, makes a fine metal grain. Invert the selection, remove the excess black, then reverse and save the selection. Define as overlay, super good. Then layer, load my selection of the Hexagon, 1/3 of the responsible for the selection of France that I've done before (so I do not apply two textures on any of a hexagon) and I get about 2/3 of the hexagons selected. New layer, fill it with black, just like the last time. Except that... when I use my magic wand to deselect, I get ' WARNING: No. Pixels were selected "and I lose the entire selection. Can I deselect using square or the quick selector, but not the magic wand. Now I well recorded and could recreate so no real work is lost, but it is easier deselect each Hexagon bit (there a LOT of them) with the magic wand of monstroustly. Why this suddenly is upward?

    Thank you for your time,

    Charles DiGiovanna

How is the box to sample all layers [] at the top of the main window of Photoshop?

If it is not checked, the wand will only use the data on the layer that is currently selected.
