Where is the 'new tab' customizable button?

I know there is one in the bar tab , but the way I set up my Firefox, it's useless... I need the old button which is customizable.

I have always used the 'new tab' button in my old version of Firefox. Now with version 4, it is no longer available

I don't understand why it was removed... It worked well.

You can drag this button bar of tabs in another new tab toolbar.

    I tried with the theme by default too. Did not work. I changed the icon theme and rebooted. The distorted icons disappeared!

    This seems to be a problem with the rodent icon theme.

    You can try setting tha value of browser.newtab.url on google in Subject: config.

    1. In the address bar, type Subject: config and press enter. The subject: config "this might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
    2. Click on I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue on the subject: config page.
