  Hello Experts of day of the Expert,

  Just bought a refurb, open the HP Envy 15 3040NR box.  Went to save it and the phone rep said that I have to take out the battery to get the number.  I didn't remove the battery... it looks like there are a few screws to remove and I can't find instructions in the online manual for removing the battery.

  There is a sticker next to the battery with multiple numbers, it says "Series", there are a number of product, a lot of numbers.  I use another computer... so I could open it to get the numbers.  Where is the serial number, a specific number of characters?  It starts with a number or letter?

  I'm hoping since he is an expert of the day that I can get a quick answer and get to work.  Thanks in advance for your help.

  Hello

  You're phone has a 'sealed battery' and this should not be removed.  An easier way to locate your serial no is the following.

  Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at the esc you key start Notepad to open the Start Menu.  Select the option in the Bios (usually f10) - on the first tab, you should see entries for your model No. Serial number. etc.

  I enjoyed trying it.  I had already seen and tried your suggestion and at that time, I was exasperated.  I finally found the solution - which - after - trivial - but was did not initially.  There was a piece neglected paper in the box set that I bought it with the DVD disc that said it was necessary to send a note to Adobe and they would replicate with the serial number.  You see only the problem was not that piece of paper in the box...   I found a few You Tube tutorials on this product but - so far - they all have interest only in specific photo editing - no info on the problems I mentioned above.  Do you have a recommendation in this sense?

  I think this product is quite powerful, but so far lacks instructions for beginners - it seems that most of the instructions (I discovered so far) are to illustrate the new features compared to previous versions of the program.  Improvements, I am sure, are quite useful - but information about them at the front are an obstacle to getting started with the bare basics.

  I apologize for being short in my answer - not good - all I can say is that I have spent several hours of fruitless efforts at that time.  Now, as stated above, it seems to be more time needed to get the product really working for me.  I'm not impressed by this aspect of the product - it is not "user-friendly" for a beginner.
